The 1100 Shadow is one of the best bikes ever built. Aside from the poor voltage regulator (which I've switched out for a Mosfet regulator) The engines are bullet proof and are so comfortable to ride, specially on long trips. I own a '96 VT1100 and love it. The '97s came out with a 5 speed transmission, but I like the 4 speed much better as there's less shifting and top gear is the same ratio as in the 5 speed anyway, so 4th gear in the 5 speed is no added advantage to me.
So these bikes don't vibrate and have you wishing for an extra gear on highways? At first I was looking at all of the 800 cc to 950 cc bikes as a first motorcycle but everyone keeps saying go with at 1100 cc with 1300 cc being even better. Just trying to see what people's different opinions are. Thanks for the upload. :)
@@usa-rb5fi I still haven't picked a bike yet. You know how it is with bills and stuff. 🙃 Had to get some roof work done and our furnace might need to be replaced. I'll be keeping an eye out for one this season. If I see something under $4,000 I can make payments on, you never know. Hope all is well. Happy riding to you! 🏍️💨 ✌️

I've got a 1994 VT1100, and concur.
У меня vt1100 89г. Вот как раз первой передачи как будто бы нет . В городе приходится травить сцепление

What did you end up getting? As far as 1100-1300 for highway, they’re better for say interstate riding.
