You might remember that when Ichigo asks Yamamoto to return Ginjo's body to the human world so they can give him a proper burial, Yamamoto asks him something along the lines of ''Can I assume you have said those words after considering all the ramifications?'', well, these are the ramifications, he's allowed to move on to the SS.

Exactly and it's beautiful given ichigo's character. In the end even after all he was put through by ginjo and the full bringers he still understood where they were coming from and didn't hold any hatred against them. Bleach was always my personal favorite of the big three as a kid and while I currently hold one piece in a different tier to most anime my passion for bleach has been relit and it's safe to say this my most hype anime of every season til it's over.
Actually the theory is that those three were humans that were killed by soul reapers so their souls went to the soul society kinda like how they exorcised hollows by killing them.

Ginjo, Tsukishima and Giriko are humans, Fullbringers as well, sure, but humans. They die, they go to SS, end of discussion.
The exception to that would have been Ginjo since SS wasn't about to let him, but since Ichigo asked to give him a proper burial, he was allowed to.

For those confused for why the Fullbringers are present, since they died in the real world, their souls were sent to Soul Society since thats where all souls go, so yes they are very much dead, that's why Kukaku Shiba said they should be glad she picked them from Rukongai, the place where normal souls end up.

@@jettrojettro Anime only watcher got shafted for that. The manga make that so much apparent from the get go. You even get a shot to shot Ichigo/Kaien from Byakuya's perspective when their fight is don at the end of the SS arc, clearly linking them in apparence and ideologies.

I personally loved all the tiny hints they gave of things that will happen soon in the story, a lot people will see them and have no idea it's even foreshadowing.

Yes that's Isshin "Kurosaki". So. That means Ichigos cousins are Kukakku, Ganju and Kaien(who Ichigo looks a LOT alike). Also, they're not alive. They're dead. Fullbringers are humans, and when humans die they get transported into the Soul Society.

In the manga version of the scene in Mayuri's lab, they bring up how sections of Renji's Bankai and Ikkaku's bankai are permanently broken, for example. And that Kommamura's one works by healing with his body, but his body gets hurt when his bankai gets hurt too in exchange.

Ginjo and tsukishima are humans so when they died they get to soul society just as every normal human (for example the kid that was a parrot when chad was introduced)

@@D-Skotes I don't think that they're are that bad, Ginjo was trying to get revenge because he was "betrayed" by the soul society (Remember that soul society was corrupt before ichigo arrived and aizen betrayed it), but before that Ginjo was a good guy. And Tsukishima just tried to help his savior. Maybe in bleach hell is only for the people that are evil in their "soul" (like the hollow frome the beggining of the show who was a serial killer when he was alive). Also, read the Bleach Hell Arc one shot,

Ginjo and Tsukishima were humans, who were killed by soul reapers. Souls killed by soul reapers go to the soul society. Those two went to the Rukon Districts, where Kukaku and Ganju took them in.

Unohana and her Squad stayed at their building because if they left, the Quincies would have slaughtered them, and thus the Soul Society would have a much harder time taking care of the injured in the aftermath.

Love this reaction, but the part about uncle Isshin, with L music in the background, was the peak. If you remember of Kaien Shiba, Ukitake's lieutenant before Rukia, now you will understand why he looked so alike to Ichigo. Squad Zero was firstly mentioned during the flashback TBTP, where Kisuke replaced Kirio as captain of the 12th, and there was also an hint to Unohana. Grimmjow and Halibel were the only Espadas not confirmed to be dead, but the confirmation they were alive came only in TBYW. Instead, these three fullbringers are dead, but as they are humans, their souls just get to Soul Society after that, eventually meeting Kukaku. There also other many hints in this episode, one thing at time, everything will be clear.
Squad 0 was actually mentioned far earlier in the series , when Ichigo first encountered a Menos Grande, Rukia mentioned them. Grimmjow and Harribel were confirmed to have survived before TYBW in the data books, Orihime healed Harribel in the aftermath of Aizen vs Ichigo. As for Ishin, his last name was changed because in Japan it is a custom for the Husband to take the Bride's last name. Most Japanese fans had already figured out that Ichigo's mother's name is Kurasaki Masaki.
@@Phantom_8222 didn't know about these databook things, but in the manga was in this arc (for the Espadas). I don't recall Zero get mentioned before the flashback, not in the anime nor in the manga, against the Menos (Rukia didn't just say elites or something like that?). Maybe I'm wrong (give me the page), but as it was the beginning, against a stupid Menos that even lieutenants can defeat without problems, it's not the case. Kubo really thinked of the Zero how it is now only in the pendulum arc.

Well thinking logically, Unohana's the captain of the healing division. It's generally a really bad idea to send your medics to the frontlines. If something we're to happen to them or their barracks came under attack while they weren't there, that's most of your medics wiped out. Then what are you gonna do with all the wounded? You'd end up losing way more people.

Ishin being Kuukaku and Ganju's uncle closes yet another plot point that Kubo foreshadowed way back: the reason why Kaien Shiba, the previous 13th Squad Vice-Captain and Rukia's mentor, looked so much like Ichigo. Sideburns and wild hair is literally the Shiba style.
And if you go look at the OG Gotei 13, you might identify someone who fits that bill, so the Shibas run way back, just like the Kuchiki (Byakuya's noble family) and Shio'in (Yoruichi's noble family).

This episode is fucking with my head
I have no clue how Squad Zero factored into the original Gotei 13, but my theory is that Squad Zero formed the Central 46 first to govern the souls that arrive to the Soul Society and the Gotei 13 were formed shortly before the war with the Quincies as a defense force. Previous episodes state they were little more than bloodthirsty mercenaries, so it seems reasonable that Central 46 chose the most ruthless and powerful souls and sent them to Squad Zero to be trained and equipped. Like a Suicide Squad type of situation, you could say.
To add onto the theory, my idea of events is that the Central 46 has been governing over the souls arriving to the Soul Society for some time when they notice the Quincies are there and are becoming too strong. So they suggest to Squad Zero that an army needs to be assembled to combat the growing threat, and Squad Zero approves. Central 46 then picks the most bloodthirsty criminals and hires them, which Squad Zero then trains. Then the events of the war play out and the Gotei 13 members are given an ultimatum, to give up their bloodthirsty ways and become an official army or die, Yamamoto and Unohana picking the former and assuming their roles. The rest of the original Gotei 13 refuse and are executed, being too strong and stubborn to leave alive.
That's basically my headcanon for how it works and what happened to the rest of the original Gotei 13.

Isshin's real last name is Shiba, not Kurosaki. Kurosaki is Misaki's last name (Kurosaki clan of the quincies).

UnoHanna was in the flashback last episode. She was part of yamamoto’s savage crew back in the day. They didn’t show what she can or can’t do. But she has to be something special just from that (manga readers know what that’ll be)
