I'm pretty sure that one of the main reasons that Mask lost is because he killed the true user of the superstar which is James. Yes, James probs can res back from Masks residual reatsu but it takes more time after he got burnt to crisp by the supernova. But, if not for that dumb mistake by Mask, James can reach a point of who knows what power level
@powerofberzerker9487 from what I understand they're both named James and can rez eachother. That being said it would be okay to assume that both can reach mask de masculine powerlevel. But even so renji could've taken 2 of them on at the same time even if mask didn't end James. If he wouldn't have done it renji would've done it himself easily
Renji Upgrades So Far:
1). Casually FTL(meaning faster than light)in Shikai.
- Deflected Masks "Star Flash" which is a beam of light.
2). Battle IQ^.
- Quickly seen that James(little guy)was an amp for Mask+Renji instantly went for the Kill in Bankai(no explaining or contemplation).
3). Durability^.
- Not quantifiable as of now but he tanked a light vaping beam(60ft deep craters with each star corner stretching a city block+leaves no rubble/debris in it's traces=cellular lvl).
4). New Drip+Cool ASF Bankai.
- Gucci goggled cocky Renji is back with the tiger striped Versace scarf.
- Snake+Gorilla combo=Raw asf.

@@philipcarey3213 We have FTL scaling to liutenants since SS arc. For example when aizen, gin and tosen leave via the light ray's, matsumoto could evade the beam of light as it came for Gin. Nanao is able to contend with Lile barro, and she is MASSIVELY weaker than renji. There are tonns of feats that put FTL as casual for most in the show real early.

So interesting explanation on Renji’s new Bankai from his old. Zabimaru consists of both a Baboon half and a Snake half that work together equally, his Zanpakuto spirit.
Zabimaru only gave Renji half the name Hihio Zabimaru which actually means (Baboon King Snake Tail), only the Baboon is king. Until told by Ichibe the true name So-Oh Zabimaru which is now (Two Kings). They are now embraced equally by Renji able to use both.
Also more fascinating, Renji has a character is based on the Japanese mythology creature the “Nue”. A chimera with the head of a monkey, the body of a dog, the limbs of a tiger, and a snake's tail. Renji’s Zanpakuto has the Snake and Monkey or Baboon, the Tiger stripes of his outfit and even tatoos, and he’s always been referred to as loyal as a Dog to his friends like Ichigo, Rukia, Byakuya even Byakuya calling him a “Stray Dog” back in the Soul Society arc.

kubo foreshadowed renji bankai was incomplete with the name of renjis bankai
in japenese hi hiou means half king , meaning renji was only every using half its power
so ou means 2 kings, meaning renji is now complete and can use use his full power
its a japenese thing but it was subtle foreshadowing, also last thing to note is that renji bankai was rushed cause he spent 3 days to learn it like ichigo, so it was always a fragment of his power and not the whole thing

Well, Byakuya would know since he has three stages for his Bankai. Suffice to say that multiple forms/stages would imply that they mastered their Bankai.
When exactly did that happened? As far as I know, that was Byakuya to Ichigo telling him that his Bankai was too small to be called a Bankai, it was Szayelaporro that hinted something about Renji's Bankai in the manga but that scene didn't got animated.

Ayup, just like Byakuya said, Renji was using his Bankai too soon after adquiring it. It was powerful, but clumsy and even as he got more practice with it, it was still incredibly fragile, showing that, for once, battles after battles was not the way to go. One needs proper training and not even Ichigo mastered his own Bankai because IT WASN'T EVEN THE REAL DEAL

I liked this touch because back in the AA, when shunsi tried to sneak Stark, it really pissed off Rose and Love. It showed even when things were dire, and the end of everything is right in front of you (as well as the man who ruined your life as well as countless others right there), he still stuck to his "honnor" of 1v1 fights.

About the hollow mask being illegal to use: this hasn't been stated anywhere, its pure speculation to try and explain why they didn't use it. That's wrong in my opinion as there are plenty of reasons why without having to add the fact it's prohibited.
Here are some other possible explainations as of why they didn't use their hollow masks:
-They were saving their strengh. It's stated (only in the anime), that they only have 3 mintutes of hollowfication. Even in the manga, they're shown to put on the mask for a single attack then take it off right away, likely to save strength. As such, and considering they were likely expecting to fight more than one Sternritter, they were saving the mask for when it was truly needed.
-They didn't have the "time" to use it, they went straight from having the advantage to getting wrecked before they could even decide to use it.
-In Rose's case, his bankai is purely "ability-focused", the power boost from the mask would have been useless anyway. (This also applies to some degree to Shinji's shikai)
-Most bankais are pretty taxing in terms of stamina, it's plausible using the hollow mask on top of that isn't that great because of how exhausting it is (we're going back to the first reason), and if they have to choose it's clear bankai is the better option, it's stronger than a simple power boost, on top of being less exhausting.
Well, Ichibee title "Manako Osho" has deeper meaning in manga (not spoilers, cuz he said it in this episode, it was cut from anime) - He came up with names "Shikai" and "Bankai"... BUT - He also knows the names of every Shikai and Bankai in existence - no matter where the owner is - AND he knows the names even if said Shikai or Bankai wasn't obtained yet - for example, if characters like Hisagi, Zaraki Kenpachi, Yumichika etc. etc. ever were to obtain Bankai - Ichibee already knows the name of their Bankai from the day they first grabbed the swords.

I don't believe it was stated outright that they can't use their visored powers in the Seireitei, but rather that seems to be an explanation that fans came up with after these manga chapters went by and they got bodied without using them. Though let's be honest, Kubo just picked out two captains to get bodied so Renji could look that much cooler when he jumped in.

(Also I don’t believe there were any other available man power that could’ve held off Mask until Renji arrived(most captains are either MIA(Toshiro, Kenpachi, Jushiro), injured(Shinji, Soi Fon), dead(Unohana, Yama) or in Byakuya’s case, up recuperating in the soul palace); maybe if other lieutenant lvl guys showed up then maybe they could hold Mask for a while, but that’d just be a massacre I’d think(it is unfortunate these two guys got bodied if only 😔))
I would've let them use their masks (and change roses whole fight, ugh still lame you TOLD an idiot "joke" character (I actually love him but he's presented as not smart) how your power worked and he figured it out. My theory, the vizard captains can't used hollow mask power only in seiretei . Maybe it's illegal by their gotei 13 law or by central 46 jurisdiction. Cause it was shown before that Mashiro can use hollow mask to train hisagi at rukongai, outskirts of seiretei. Also i believe James can be revive by Mask , but it will take much longer times to do so cause James has been disintegrated into dust particles by his flash supernova. And the fact that Yhwach acknowledged James meaning that the tiny guy is the real stern ritter all along

Just so you know, the Zanpakuto spirits appearance in The Zanpakuto Rebellion/Zanpakuto Unknown Takes Anime Arc isn't canon.
Zabimaru's true form however, was shown (I believe) at the end of the Soul Society Arc, while Renji was recuperating. I could be wrong about the timeline though.
Zabimaru's true form is a baboon's body with a snake as it's tail.

I'm really sad they left out the explanation about Bankai's in the last season. Mayuri explains to Ichigo that a broken Bankai cannot be fixed, right? There are some rare cases where it's not the case, Sajin is an example. He's so close to his Bankai, that if they cut an arm off, it will heal back. Ikkaku's Bankai also got broken in the fight against Edrad when they were send out to Karakura Town. Akon fixed it, but it's just a fraction of it's power. And it's the same with Renji. Mayuri explained to Ichigo that in the fight against Byakuya, that some part of his Bankai got broken, and it never healed back. So it was 5x times weaker.
