Brad I really like what you did! And I grew up in Germany we had a lot of Rocco vehicles and we had firecrackers and blew them up! I'm more civilized and play with g2z scale trains. Keep up the good work and thanks for the memories! LOL

P.S. those are "concrete walls" and I think the fire departments wash the walls 😊

A most interesting video showing how to build a proper building, how to paint it in Mk prototypical colours. Not only is it a fine model of an American building, it’s something on which I needed tuition. Thank you for showing me exactly how to make it.

How do you stop stuff from sticking to the sticky part of the tape, like bugs, dust dirt and finger prints?

The tape will also lose it’s stick and begins to peel over time. Just use acetate and canopy glue. Dries clear and won’t fog. Will last forever and can be cleaned/dusted if needed.

The vehicle tape windows last 20 years on my models. no bugs. no finger prints. it just works. no loss of stick value over time. Mike Budde and I have been using this method for 20 plus years with fantastic results. it's a big time savor and on car windows it's the only to get the curve right.

For me, it’s British and Irish trains that float my boat!! My own micro layout is depicting the old television series Dad’s Army. I have the vehicles to go with it and am going to stick the vehicles down to the model board.

That fire HQ building really needs something more. It's a empty shell. It needs the office/lounge area walled off & apropriate interior design & lights. Those curved windows make that area very visibly empty. I would also position rows of lockers and fire personnel equipment along the inside wall. if it can be done.. lighting in the truck bay area and or exterior lights above doors. There's so much that can be done with that to make it look photo real.

Feel bad for the n scale guys it’s a reach for consistent uploaded content, being into exclusive ho scale only thing I’m more than annnoyed with is every manufacturer continuing to release ess44ac and 70aces and sd40-2’s over and over and over again instead of other models that haven’t ever been modeled or are super old releases. That’s the biggest con for me in the industry. I just got into steam era 1860-1930’s even though I’ve always loved 60-90’s equipment and Bachmann is the only manufacturer that doesn’t continue to model challengers 4-8-4’s and big boys over and over again. Small steam engines deserve love too.

The fire station is a wonderful model!! I rather prefer the dear old steam locomotive to the everyday diesel locomotive!!

  • @TheBobservations

Why the absence of passages and crew members in the locomotives? Their exclusion really dimenishes the realism of the equipment.

A good question to ask any of the major manufacturers, if you get the chance, is anyone going to make a new ALCO C-420? A very unique engine with an even more unique sound profile and engine that is unlike any other. Bowser has the C-636 with factory sound (as I have one) and they got the right profile in that one and its very distinct over any other locomotive engine sound. The C-420 was owned by several odd-ball shortline/class 3's with the most notable one to have them was SP&S and eventually Burlington Northern post merger.

      My question too!
Maybe for short term use etc. but I have electronic home displays for thing that have a plastic or glass view window on them with dirt behind that window, I'm think the sticky tap will be a nightmare

I'd like to know if any company is going to do the 3 axle DODX cars? Modelers have been getting M. T. Promises and nothing has been produced. Except brass and they're expensive and no longer available.

    • @andrewcappiello5585
      @andrewcappiello5585 2 года назад

There are two manufacturers that I know of. Alchem scale models offer a kit of the 4 axle dodx flat. It's a small part time business, so you have to watch his website on about a weekly basis. The other is spring mills depot. Their 6 axle dodx flats have been a along time coming. The owners claim to be looking for a container for shipping. Also a part time business.

    • @vertisjohnson219

@@andrewcappiello5585 I don't understand why after this length of time other model railroad manufacturers haven't done them. It's been years since Spring Mills Depot announced theirs and haven't seen them yet.

Nice military models but everyone likes to model them as loads with the machine guns still in place, which you would NEVER see in real life as those can be removed by yanking two pins out of the mount
