I absolutely agree with you, bro...I too prefer technic models having steering, opening doors and a fake engine 🙏🏼...also looking forward to the other technic releases you've got in store for us in December too ☺️
@@ministig63ace true, bro...I agree with you that the pull back function could have been retained for the formula e car...but I guess atleast the mustang deserved a better job maybe 🙏🏼😟
Very nice to see all models at the same scale side-by-side to one another! Also for an electric car, it would make more sense to me that the Porsh is pullback, and the Mustang has a HOG steering + engine. Just personal preference. Awesome reveiw as always!
Agree 100%. Less gimmicks, and more technic features always a win For the scale they're both nice models, and look right at home on the transporter. Nothing I need to rush out and buy as I'm sure there are better more epic sets slated for 2022.
I built this as my very first Technic model and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was not complex, but even still, I had to back out a few steps when I realized that I mis-placed a rod and one cross-member in the frame. Overall I am very happy with the results, the look and the solid nature of this build. I think I have been bitten by the Lego builder's bug.
I've said this in another video but it bears repeating. Even before this review, I always had the worry these sets were going to be a few steps backwards from the brilliant parts-heavy McLaren Senna GTR and even the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. The Shelby and the Porsche 99X feels somewhat basic at this price level, especially next to the Jeep Wrangler, McLaren Senna GTR and even the Stunt Show Truck sets from before, which not only have far more pieces and stuff going on with them but are cheaper now. Granted it's cool these sets have two pullback motors instead of just one, though mainly to compensate for the extra amount of pieces and weight over the smaller pullback sets. But they fundamentally don't do much different besides being bigger and having a release mechanism. This is compared to the Monster Jam sets as well as every other past $20 pullback set which do near enough the same thing, even if they're smaller models, but are far less costly. Even the extra models from the past where two pullback sets are combined together is still relatively better value overall.
Thanks for the comprehensive review. It's interesting that the Mustang model in the AR app is different than the final product, the door handles are black and the rear window panels are lime.
Honestly the only reason I’d buy this set is because I’m a sucker for Porsche sets. I recently got into the Technic series and I’m enjoying all the licensed cars! It’s a nice change of pace from the speed champions series as it feels like some of the models are more aimed at an older audience.
I'd actually like to see the improved version of the mustang with RC inside, something like more compact version of the top gear rally car setup with front motor faked as engine block under the hood.
I’ll probably be getting the mustang just because I like mustangs so much. So it will be a nice addition to my collection and do like the way the back of it looks without the launch bar
I agree with your opinions, I think you could score a MOD hit with converting the Mustang to a 'hand of god' steering version. Tnx for the great video as always!
Thanks for confirming they will fit on the transporter which I have. Will get the shelby as its similar to the corvette, McClaren and car that came with it. Am not overly in love with the shelby been honest but I want to fill up my transporter 😂
These sets would be worth it if they had steering that used rubber bands or something to automatically return to center or just be able to lock the steering at the center
How do you know what is supported by an unreleased app? :) I assume if it can be installed on it then it has to be supported. The performance is a totally different story, but I also heard issues from other reviewers with more recent devices.
What just crossed my mind, will it be possible to buy both monster truck sets and build a similar mechanism with the two pullback motores provided🤔 if so why bother buying the 50€ ones
Hi, I agree with you, the kits are marketed as 'Technic', they should have a fair degree of technology in them. Pull back motor does n't really cut the mustard. Needs some gears, some steering racks. Technology to assemble, you see. I'd happily pay more for that.
Or for the same price or a bit more (instead of a B model) they could have added optional steering, piston engine, moving doors or one extra minor feature which could be replace the pull-back, but both in the package (like the Mustang Creator Expert). Then even for kids either play the new pull-back or replace and play car mechanic in a simplistic way.
They are going the wrong direction. I would pay $20 more for steering, drivetrain and suspension at that scale. Not the same price for pull back functions.
After juniorising City sets it was only a matter of time before the Technic theme would suffer the same fate. The only hope I have for 1H2022 is with the 1:5 scale BMW bike. But it's again a licensed vehicle and targeted to new customers instead of true Technic fans. Btw, what happened to the survey on LEGO Technic from the end of February? Any results or conclusions? I am certain that the people who filled it out did not wish for more licensed cars with no functions, no B-model and more app based gimmicks.
The price is obviously 49.99 EUR / USD, I made a mistake :)
£44-99 in the UK
I like these cars but for racing they are good

Fair, but keep in mind the formula e cars has none of that in real life apart from steering:)

Few years ago we didn’t know what cars to put on the transporter. Now we wonder when’s the new transporter set coming to put all those cars 😂
Maybe we need a new transporter to transport the fully loaded old transporter 🤣
@@behindthebuilds6764 haha 😂 that should do it too
@@behindthebuilds6764 but how many pullback motors should have it?

If I'm not mistaken, this coloring exactly was in early-leaked photos, while relesed one came changed.
Good catch! Honestly I could not focus really on the details in the app, I was struggling to make it work :)
I wonder if one day we will get technic panel with number 69 ;)

Thank you! Buying the mustang for sure, just to display on the cartransporter.
The Porsche fits perfectly with the Senna
I was really looking forward to Porsche 99X.
I'm quite dissapointed.
And I'm not sure it's a great toy to justify making it a pullback.
God damnit, now im gonna have to go buy this retired transporter to display my technic cars
I'd actually like to see the improved version of the mustang with RC inside, something like more compact version of the top gear rally car setup with front motor faked as engine block under the hood.
$50 for a small model whose only literal moving part is a lever with a pullback motor. I miss the days when technic was fun..
I’ll probably be getting the mustang just because I like mustangs so much. So it will be a nice addition to my collection and do like the way the back of it looks without the launch bar
They NEED to release a F1 car its been years when the last one came out
Yes new vid❤️
I agree with your summation. They could (and should) have put a piston engine on it connected to the front axle.
Does that really make sense for an electric car though like the 99X? I suppose you could pass it off as a dynamo/electric motor.
@@GeriatricFan1963 I think I was referring to the Shelby
Agreed, great review!
This would make an amazing Batmobile/'Batracer' if it was modified in BLACK and shades of GREY...(the red parts can remain ) :)

Can you make a tutorial for how to add remote control (power functions not the new motorized stuff
At 1:10 I think you said the wrong price, it is 49.99€, not 99.99€ xD
It's certainly 49.99... I'm tired
Wait a year or two...

Great review! I really hope the 50 USD/EUR pullback cars won't replace the 'normal' 50 bucks cars
I completed, but not go forward 😢 I think I have a problem at the beginning. I have to start again
I got it as display piece so I don’t mind the lack of playability
Ipad Air 2 is not a supported device, thats why the AR is not working....

suprised that right side of the car doesn't have blue center locking wheel nuts!
Try hitting the apex with that obstructed view lol

It's amazing
I was wondering if they would fit on my car transporter
What new cars will we get in the size of the porsche and ferrari from last year?
Good question!
What if you reversed the pull-back car
on the truck and then release the car?
hey was just wanting to know if you are aware of any big technic set releases for 2022 (bigger models )thanks love the videos
I published everything that is official, no confirmation about anything else yet
Plot twist: BMW M1000RR K66 and Formula 1 is also Pullbacks sets.
lol
The mustangs waaaaeee to expensive for that size aswell as the Porsche
Agreed, I'll happily get them when they're on sale or on Ebay for 30 ish quid.
Great video 😍
Where did u get the display case from that behind you ??
Billy cases from IKEA with custom LED lights

Are those new panels really #60 and #61... or upside down #09 and #19?
Panel pairs always get numbers next to each other
Formula E cars are electric, so engine is not needed. But it needs steering.
So they run without an engine you say? ;)
ı'm worried about their approach change for technic
Cool(:!
I finished the build but the laych is always lock. Please help
Build it again
Since I am new to legos, is this car easy to build?
Yes it is
