As a counter to this, JJ, you could check out Kenobi by John Jackson Miller, as the FAR superior alternative. Not to mention, in the Legacy comics, we get a flashback to Obi Wan fighting A'Sharad Hett a.k.a. Darth Krayt when he became a Tusken Raider warlord.
You were able to see the Obi-Wan series? WOW! I tried but couldn't find it. I was, however able to watch 'Reva and Leia: A Star Wars Story.' Obi-Wan made some brief cameos. If anyone knows where I can steam his show, please let me know! Thanks in advance. 🙂
Imagine if directors and producers were confident enough in what they were trying to do that they didn't feel a need to add "cannot criticize the production" to their contracts.
Honestly, a better story if you ask me would have been not focusing on Leia. However, having Obi-Wan needing to leave for his training with Qui-gon same as Yoda. I know your not a Clone Wars fan but it would have been infinitely more interesting to see Obi-Wan's inner turmoil from the Clone Wars confronted through his gaining the ability to maintain his consciousness after death. Yes we've already seen it but from the point of view of Yoda and his mind that as a grandmaster he no longer has flaws in the force. I think through Obi-Wan we would rather see him come to terms with the past and regaining hope for the future. You might even have him face the Sith and question how it will be possible for Luke to be the hope that he will be. Overall, it would be something new that we can see that would only focus on Obi-Wan. You could also have Obi-Wan similar to the recent video game encounter jedi who decided to hide on korban who have fallen to the dark side. Just as it's been used in other video games Dark Jedi often signal the loss in hope. Having a Dark Jedi be Obi-Wan's nemesis or enemy could be the antagonist if you need one.
why doesnt reva just use a mind trick on uncle owen, why doesnt obi wan mind trick the jawa stealing and reselling his shit, why doesnt bale orgnana use his army or get ashoka to get leia back, there are so many plot holes in this show that anyone can point out, just goes to show how shitty the writers are
On the homeless Clone: why wouldn't a 501'st Clone trooper recognize Obi Wan and turn him in? Best part of that knock of Nar Shaddaa scene is hearing Glitterstem uttered in Disney fan fiction. @24:05 No mention of the time wasting pointless and physics breaking jump she did after knocking the pole down? She does a front-back flip for no f-ing reason other than to try and make her look like she's doing space-parkour. It's so badly directed it's unreal. You probably remember now but Obi Wan sees Palpatine knight Anakin as Vader before the Mustafar duel. So any news he would have seen on the holonet about Vader would let him know he survived the duel by then IF news is allowed to get out about Vader. Is the fortress actually called Fortress Inquisitorious? I thought that guy was just joking about the name in the show. That is a dumb name obviously trying to sound like Warhammer 40K. I'm surprised progressives aren't mad about the overt underground railroad references with The Path. Especially how they write a black actress to interact with it. Vader was killing those people to draw out Obi Wan. Not that I'm defending the show but it sounded like you didn't get what they were doing in the scene. He's killing people to make Obi feel responsible. I kind of laughed when Obi wan kept making Vader ambulate more. He knows he cut his legs off and he's probably fucking with Anakin who's legs probably give him a lot of pain daily. Obi Wan's facial hair would have burned off too. They did not do a good job on this at all. Another time they stereotype the evil white guy trope is that guy Obi works for having a southern accent. Cause you know anyone that says y'all is bigoted and evil automatically. I think it's funny how Disney has set up that Leia is constantly getting captured and needing to be saved by men. Not that being captured is a bad trope but that if she's so smart and has powerful ovaries and the golden uterus....why the constant fuck ups and needing saving? I was mad that the one flashback they do with Hayden and Ewan isn't TCW armored versions during the Clone Wars. That would have been a much better flashback for me. See them in a battle and actually see the movie actors wearing the TCW outfits. I know how you feel about TCW too, I don't like the contradictions but I can accept it with tweaks to it. Not trying to defend Disney again but they actually used the restraining bolt idea right. The one R2 has on him prevents him to do certain things by interrupting his programming. It's perfectly feasible for a tech to make one that works like what they showed. The problem is how easy it was to remove. Luke needed a tool to get R2's off and Rebels established Chopper having to shock AP-5's off so they broke their own lore again or some bolts are just weak magnets? I love how Chris Gore pointed out how cheap those ship chairs are. They don't even look like they're attached to the ship at all. Corellia has like 4 habitable planets out of 8-9. That's not too out there for me for there to be two in this system. The way Disney has established Rebels and other non live action lore just to rehash it and break their own continuity is really annoying. Vader get's half masked just like Rebels which was already a rip off of TFU. This show has the same problem TCW has with constant rematches that break the film continuity. TCW had Grievous and Dooku interacting way too often with Ani and Obi. This show is doing it with Vader and Obi. How does Luke NEVER mention this stuff to Obi Wan in the OT? Luke sees his first red saber here, before Vader's. Luke experiences a dark force user but later on in the OT doesn't seem to have any experiences with the Force. And I get he's knocked out for a little of it but Owen and Beru would probably tell him some details and he would have retained some of the memories 8-10 years later. I hate how Obi Wan travels all the way to Alderaan to give Leia Lola and break continuity further by talking about her real parents and then just leaves. He flew from Tatooine(outer rim) to Alderaan(core worlds) and is there for all of five minutes and then just leaves? You know he would stay the night at least. Who the fuck travels that far for FIVE MINUTES just to bring back a droid? A poorly written Disney character that's who! Actually Obi meeting Luke is fine. Luke knew about Ben (old wizard) and Owen just tried to get Luke to forget it which makes sense that he doesn't want Luke to become a Jedi still. Yeah it was another Disney dumpster fire. Sucks what they're doing to SW and Marvel. Great watch/listen. Hope you get to 10,000. :{
The clone trooper made some sense, actually - he's been discarded by the Empire, why would he turn Obi-Wan in? He would have made a decent support character for this show, actually, but never came up again...
@@lumeronswift Actually it made no sense at all. He's begging for money why not turn Kenobi in for all the food and drinks he could want? The 66 chip would compel him to turn Kenobi in too. Have Rex if you want a Clone that it would make sense to have interact positively with Kenobi then. The scene they did with the beggar one has too many plot holes/continuity/lore issues as is. :{
Well to be fair luke by A New Hope clearly met Obi-wan before as Luke recognised him when obi-wan came to rescue him from the tusken raiders. He even said prior to Uncle Owen and aunt beru "I wonder if he meant old Ben kenobi" after Luke finds leia's message on R2D2. So having Obi-Wan meet luke before ANH makes sence. I just wish we could've seen obi-wan interact more with luke a bit more and for the show to be better and not this garbage. The characters I wanted to see was obi-wan, darth vader, qui-gon and the priestess of the wills, yoda and showing obi-wan undergoing training to live after death as a force ghost.
Good lord, you liked that Vader choked random bystanders for no reason? Vader's whole deal is about doing everything with purpose and letting nothing get in his way. He was never portrayed as randomly cruel - he was always completely goal-driven. Now he just looks like a cheap villain from a... cough... Disney film.
@@j.j.plagiarisms7149 I know that is what a lot of people have said about that scene... but torture would have worked fine (rather than snapping necks)... also, these people informed the Empire that there was a Jedi here, wouldn't he be more likely to either A) reward them or B) ask them to all search every house?
@@lumeronswift I can also see it as trying to make Obi Wan as HORRIFIED of "what he created" as possible. He was definitely putting on a show for both of those reasons in that scene.
I didn't bother watching this show after reading that its not about Obi-Wan but instead about a female inquisitor which apparently goes against everyone, and that they downgraded Obi-Wan's character aswell as having him clash with Vader twice before meeting again in A New Hope. Which is a shame because I love the idea of Ewan McGregor and Hayden reprising their roles...

Hello, J.J. I wanted to ask if I could request another video for you to respond to in the future? The video in question is called "Obi-Wan Kenobi: Shackled Saga, Smaller World - What the Patterson Cut Reveals," created by a user named RetroBlasting. The video does make a few valid points, such as the idea of the Inquisitors not making any sense. But the main reason I wanted to request the video is that it is mostly a "subtle" hit peace on George Lucas, specifically, blaming him for the Kenobi series' existence because of his decision to make Leia Luke's sister in Return of The Jedi. Once again, RetroBlasting doesn't like what Disney has done, either, but he still finds a way to revolve it back toward George and blame him for the show. I can't post the link because RUclips will take down my comment if I try. Just copy and paste the title of the video and you should find it. Give the video a chance when you have the time and let me know if it's worth responding to. I'm also going to try and ask Anomaly Inc. if he would like to respond to the video, if that's okay with you? May The Force Be With You.
Obi Wan and Yoda actually watch Vader being given his name by Palpatine in the archives, Obi wan was then told by Yoda that Anakin no longer exists and that he is now Darth Vader. Needless to say but Obi Wan would absolutely know that Vader is Anakin and that Vader is still Alive.
It's not similar in the slightest, aside from an Inquisitor looking for Jedi. Especially because aside from the first two books, TLOTJ is Ferus Olins's story, with Obi-Wan taking more of a side role, and spending most of it watching over Luke on Tatooine.

This series was an example of Disney demonstrating they can re-create prequel-standard Lucas-level story writing. All this did was remind me how bad Star Wars is overall. Two good movies out of 12 films, three series and however many animations are out there.
That's not even remotely true. They didn't recreate anything that made the Prequel Trilogy work. Despite what RLM would say, they were good Star Wars content besides the two movies(ANH & ESB) like the Expanded Universe(the multimedia project made to expand the Star Wars universe through comics, novels, games, etc.) That saying of "Star Wars only having two good movies," is made by OT fanatics(not normal fans) that have a severely narrow view of Star Wars & often incredibly bias & closed minded. Which led to Star Wars having becoming stagnate due to Disney being taught the wrong lessons from the Prequel hate bandwagon of the late 2000s and early 2010s. Which leads to the sequels repeating the OT, only made much worse due to missing a lot of elements that made them so beloved. Honestly though, unless you are being sarcastic I don't agree with that sentiment at all.

I will check that out eventually
@@j.j.plagiarisms7149 check out The Last of the Jedi series by Jude Watson. This what the Obi-Wan Kenobi series seem to take influence from.
@@AlexStarOfStarWars Oh right ! There was one book where Ferus and Obi Wan have to work together against Boba Fett.
We've reached a point, where the only reason to watch TV and movies, is so you can watch people tear them apart, and nod along.

@@godzpeedx7ii75 You repeat the same comment that says 'no' twice, which really shows that you're very insecure.
If you wanted that read the book, Kenobi, last of The Jedi, Dark Lord the Rise of Darth Vader, and The Life and Legend of Obi Wan Kenobi.
why doesnt reva just use a mind trick on uncle owen, why doesnt obi wan mind trick the jawa stealing and reselling his shit, why doesnt bale orgnana use his army or get ashoka to get leia back, there are so many plot holes in this show that anyone can point out, just goes to show how shitty the writers are
On the homeless Clone: why wouldn't a 501'st Clone trooper recognize Obi Wan and turn him in?
Best part of that knock of Nar Shaddaa scene is hearing Glitterstem uttered in Disney fan fiction.
@24:05 No mention of the time wasting pointless and physics breaking jump she did after knocking the pole down? She does a front-back flip for no f-ing reason other than to try and make her look like she's doing space-parkour. It's so badly directed it's unreal.
You probably remember now but Obi Wan sees Palpatine knight Anakin as Vader before the Mustafar duel. So any news he would have seen on the holonet about Vader would let him know he survived the duel by then IF news is allowed to get out about Vader.
Is the fortress actually called Fortress Inquisitorious? I thought that guy was just joking about the name in the show. That is a dumb name obviously trying to sound like Warhammer 40K.
I'm surprised progressives aren't mad about the overt underground railroad references with The Path. Especially how they write a black actress to interact with it.
Vader was killing those people to draw out Obi Wan. Not that I'm defending the show but it sounded like you didn't get what they were doing in the scene. He's killing people to make Obi feel responsible.
I kind of laughed when Obi wan kept making Vader ambulate more. He knows he cut his legs off and he's probably fucking with Anakin who's legs probably give him a lot of pain daily.
Obi Wan's facial hair would have burned off too. They did not do a good job on this at all.
Another time they stereotype the evil white guy trope is that guy Obi works for having a southern accent. Cause you know anyone that says y'all is bigoted and evil automatically.
I think it's funny how Disney has set up that Leia is constantly getting captured and needing to be saved by men. Not that being captured is a bad trope but that if she's so smart and has powerful ovaries and the golden uterus....why the constant fuck ups and needing saving?
I was mad that the one flashback they do with Hayden and Ewan isn't TCW armored versions during the Clone Wars. That would have been a much better flashback for me. See them in a battle and actually see the movie actors wearing the TCW outfits. I know how you feel about TCW too, I don't like the contradictions but I can accept it with tweaks to it.
Not trying to defend Disney again but they actually used the restraining bolt idea right. The one R2 has on him prevents him to do certain things by interrupting his programming. It's perfectly feasible for a tech to make one that works like what they showed. The problem is how easy it was to remove. Luke needed a tool to get R2's off and Rebels established Chopper having to shock AP-5's off so they broke their own lore again or some bolts are just weak magnets?
I love how Chris Gore pointed out how cheap those ship chairs are. They don't even look like they're attached to the ship at all.
Corellia has like 4 habitable planets out of 8-9. That's not too out there for me for there to be two in this system.
The way Disney has established Rebels and other non live action lore just to rehash it and break their own continuity is really annoying. Vader get's half masked just like Rebels which was already a rip off of TFU.
This show has the same problem TCW has with constant rematches that break the film continuity. TCW had Grievous and Dooku interacting way too often with Ani and Obi. This show is doing it with Vader and Obi.
How does Luke NEVER mention this stuff to Obi Wan in the OT? Luke sees his first red saber here, before Vader's. Luke experiences a dark force user but later on in the OT doesn't seem to have any experiences with the Force. And I get he's knocked out for a little of it but Owen and Beru would probably tell him some details and he would have retained some of the memories 8-10 years later.
I hate how Obi Wan travels all the way to Alderaan to give Leia Lola and break continuity further by talking about her real parents and then just leaves. He flew from Tatooine(outer rim) to Alderaan(core worlds) and is there for all of five minutes and then just leaves? You know he would stay the night at least. Who the fuck travels that far for FIVE MINUTES just to bring back a droid? A poorly written Disney character that's who!
Actually Obi meeting Luke is fine. Luke knew about Ben (old wizard) and Owen just tried to get Luke to forget it which makes sense that he doesn't want Luke to become a Jedi still.
Yeah it was another Disney dumpster fire. Sucks what they're doing to SW and Marvel.
Great watch/listen. Hope you get to 10,000. :{
The clone trooper made some sense, actually - he's been discarded by the Empire, why would he turn Obi-Wan in? He would have made a decent support character for this show, actually, but never came up again...
@@lumeronswift Actually it made no sense at all.
He's begging for money why not turn Kenobi in for all the food and drinks he could want?
The 66 chip would compel him to turn Kenobi in too.
Have Rex if you want a Clone that it would make sense to have interact positively with Kenobi then.
The scene they did with the beggar one has too many plot holes/continuity/lore issues as is. :{
Well to be fair luke by A New Hope clearly met Obi-wan before as Luke recognised him when obi-wan came to rescue him from the tusken raiders.
No that doesn’t excuse it
No it doesn’t make any sense
Nope false
Also Luke doesn’t know Obi Wan during ANH
He could’ve heard stories of him
Bonnie Piesse, actually! 😂
Bonnie Hunt voiced Sally in Cars!
Whoops
This show sucks i don't know why some people think this is good star wars content rip a new hope fan
To be honest, he was probably trying to draw Obi-Wan out in-context
That remark about obiwan looking better than the "awful-looking" prequels is just great. The prequels literally look better than this fuck show. I'm not compensating for age or anything when I say this.
Besides the couple of scenes with haydenbro it was shit, both hayden and ewin did their best in this shit.
Which is better book of boba fett or this?
When u gonna review the Bond movies, you've made several references to them before so review some of them!
This series is SO similar to The Last of the Jedi series by Jude Watson.
@The Cambot he was trying to prevent a possible leak of Leia's identity with an Inquisitor.
It's not similar in the slightest, aside from an Inquisitor looking for Jedi. Especially because aside from the first two books, TLOTJ is Ferus Olins's story, with Obi-Wan taking more of a side role, and spending most of it watching over Luke on Tatooine.
I enjoyed it. not perfect but the last two episodes were incredible. I don't know how the final fight is a disappointment.
1 correction: you said that quigonjin appearing as a ghost contradicts disney canon. id like you to remind you that
a) quigon not finishing his training was established before disney canon was created
b)as always id like to defend my boi the filoniman by saying that even if he told them, the writers might have been to prideful to listen
T.C.W 2008 is part of the Disney E.U.
No Disney Canon never addressed how Qui Gon finished his training, so it is a continuity error, saying this was before Disney is the dumbest excuse ever since you basically admit that Disney likes to break continuity
Honestly, this show is a mixed bag for me, on the one hand:
•Ewan and Hayden are both Great
•Final scene between Obi-wan and Vader was great especially with the lines “I’m sorry Anakin, for all of it” and “You didn’t kill Anakin Skywalker, I did”
•Haja was pretty funny
•Cinematography is mostly great
•Music is fire
•Liam Neeson was good
On the other hand meanwhile…
•Reva is a pretty bland character and the fact she survived getting stabbed twice was annoying
•Episode 4 was stupid and the fact Vader didn’t kill Reva after that is annoying
•The Inquisitor was pretty boring as well, he didn’t really do much and was kinda lifeless
•Vader not killing Obi wan because he wants to ‘make him suffer’ but then damage obi-wan in no way physically or emotionally was annoying
•Bail’s transmission scene was really annoying and you’d think he would’ve coded it
•Choreography is pretty lame
•Obi-wan saying “Hello There” at the end would’ve been cool but it just felt like Fan service
33:31 like this show
I’ve been looking forward to this.
Honestly, I’d overlook a lot of the plot holes if they didn’t have that reva character. Her story and scenes were the ones that made the least sense and seemed the most forced
Obi-Wan Kenobi is the best product Disney made with Star Wars and no that is not a complement.
Fifth Brother's design is just as bad as the Grand Inquisitor's

This dumpster fire of a show has *OFFICIALLY* made SC-38 Re-Imagined canon.
How so?
@@saberiandream316
*SC-38 Re-Imagined* was created by very passionate Star Wars fans who loves both the Prequel and Original Trilogies, people with limited resources, but also were not afraid to take risks and love the creative process.
What's Disney doing with their so-called "Rematch of the Century"? Spends millions of dollars to make it half-baked, passionless, nostalgia heavy and breaking continuity everywhere they go.
@@JinxTheLooneyToon915 I know what SC 38 is, I'm excited for their Cloud City reimagining, but I meant in what way did they rip that off?
@@saberiandream316
They who? FixItInPost or Disney?
I normally agree with your opinion especially on the sequels and prequels and this show sure does have some problems but did you not catch that they filled in the continuity hole of why Leia doesn’t know who Kenobi is in a new hope. It’s in the scene where bail organa thanks Kenobi when he comes to alderan. He says to her that basically at some point in the future you might see me again as an old man but you can tell anyone or act like you know me because then my identity will be revealed. I feel like it isn’t the most solid of ways they could’ve patched that up but they still did it.
So I’m not sure if you continuity argument on that specific point is correct but some of your other continuity arguments are
bullshit the message where leia asks for kenobis help she also talks about bringing the plans to the rebels aka a case closed for treason
Problem is that it doesn't matter.
Just being in communication with Obi-wan would be enough to get her entire family arrested.
if you think of it isn't Haja racism itself? He is a rip off artist who looks like Middle Easterner. Isn't it stereotype?
Actually it’s not Reva’s fault that that Jedi escaped, it’s The Grand Inquisitor’s fault, because he stopped Reva from killing that Jedi.
“Everything Disney Makes Will Always Be Fan Fiction” not the fuck it won’t, if you own a property what you make isn’t fan fiction no matter who the original owner thinks of what you do
Shill
@@SolurVoludun so your a shill for not lying, good to know
@@Jordan-ry1olyou’re a shill for sucking Disney’s cock and consideting their crap as canon
