Analyzing Evil: Anthony Daniels From Star Wars
The rudest famous person I've met yet, Anthony Daniels has officially earned an episode of Analyzing Evil, the 21st, because of other terrible stories shared with me after my rant about him. Enjoy.
I also think I figured out the answer to the question he refused to answer: he was in Young Indy Chronicles because he had squat else to do.

Wait wasn't that like two stories aside from yours?
What? Ian is a bad guy irl? Where did it come from?
He treated Kenny Baker like you'll treat something stuck at the bottom of your shoe.
1:10 mark was also Fire lord Ozai in the last air bender
Podawful mentioned
Bros the Batman Who Hates 💀
Started disliking him during the beginning of the Disney era when in some interview for Vanity Fair or Hollywood Reporter he totally threw Lucas under the bus for usage of CGI, acting like JJ shot TFA in actual space. Same goes for Warwick Davis going on about going back to the right way of doing things. They were good bootlickers for their Disney Overlords.
Personally, I would also do an Analyzing Good for Hayden Christiansen and Femi Taylor (Jabba's Twi'lek slave girl Oola from Return of the Jedi). Both are really good with the fans, showing a very supportive attitude and appreciation for their fans.
What most fans appreciate is actors just being nice. It's not a hard thing to do
What a tool.
Ray Park is an awesome dude who is so appreciative of being a part of the (REAL) Star Wars Universe.
Wrong movie - Anthony Daniels
How Anthony Daniels treated his co-stars like Kenny Baker was disgusting and unbelievable. I can't believe the man who played C-3PO would be a total dick in real life.
You need to remember, most actors were hard core theater kids. Theyre prone to becoming a big fish in a small pond and loving it.
What? Analysing evil? His only crime being douche? Seriously? With a title like that, you made me think he molested a child. This is not analysing evil, this is analysing dickheadness.
From everything I’ve heard, Anthony Daniels isn’t a great guy to be around, so you doing another video about him isn’t too surprising.
0:45 Well, him and Mark are some serious douchebags that are high off their own farts. A shame, but that doesn't mean we can't make fun of them. 😁
Now that we look at it, Jar Jar Binks is not even the worst thing to have ever happened in Star Wars.
Is it just me or are British actors WAY worse than American ones?
That's racist
@ I’m British mate. Trust me, we’re shit 😂
Data from tng is cooler
Character or Actor?
@j.j.plagiarisms7149 both but I don't know a ton about the actor
The thing that’s the most irritating is I think the amount of people who’ve never done a day in uniform justifying the chips via “if I was in the army I’d just ignore my officer…..” without understanding what it’s like being in the military and how soldiers just don’t do that because of how much discipline and deference to authority has been hammered into you via boot camp. And that’s for regular-born recruits, now ramp that up for genetically-modified soldiers who were trained from birth to be soldiers and to follow their orders. And then of course the many justifications of soldiers throughout history for why they did not refuse unlawful or immoral actions. “I followed orders, orders are orders.” “It’d be unfair for my comrades to do all the dirty work and not me.” “I didn’t want to be that guy.” “It was a mercy.” Those are far more poignant and interesting reasons to explore than a chip being planted into their brains that suddenly changed their personalities. And even then you can still have clones disobey because they thought it was wrong and yet that be a vocal minority opinion. Besides it’s main character bias that we think most of the Jedi and clones were close and on good terms. Other than Anakin, Ayla, Obi-Wan, Plo Koon, Kit Fisto, Mace Windu, etc. most clones and their Jedi were not close and to tell the truth most clones hated their Jedi. Because most of the Jedi were not qualified to be officers in an army. Swinging and sword and moving shit with your mind doesn’t qualify you as a strategist or logistician.
I remember meeting James Caan at the 2018 London Comic Con, first off i knew fine well an actor of his track record was there for the money. I asked him if he could put something that would inspire me in my fourth coming Half Marathon on my 10x8 still of him from 1975's Rollerball, he looked up at me with sunglasses and a baseball cap on, this old tired guy and barked 'I CAN'T! RULES! I DON'T MAKE 'EM!' Then he flicked the 10x8 with his half hearted scrawl on it. Honestly, the old adage is true never meet your heroes. I was not a big James Caan fan anyway, i knew him being there was a fish out of water experience for him, i had never known Caan to attend these events, but my god, try and be a bit decent to people that admire some of your work. Rest In Peace.
I guess he was well casted as Sonny Corleone then
I’m not excusing him but it sounds like he was under pressure…
Analyzing evil: John Landis
He literally got away with the deaths of 3 people
I saw Anthony Daniels at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
I'd rather meet Tom Cruise at this rate.
This is a copypasta lmao
I don't usually use "why didn't you" critiques, so I'll put it this way- why did Disney make every desert planet look the same? Why not design a planet more similar to the Sonoran Desert, or the Mojave, or a black sand desert orbiting a blue star?
The way Anthony Daniels treated Kenny Baker absolutely disgusting. ruclips.net/video/InO7h5vUW3I/видео.htmlsi=Y2uloFlwvjZ9D4P_
there are lots of stories like this, starting from Harlan Ellison on Never Meet You Heroes although you can be pleasantly surprised sometimes sorry man
Thanks for showing my comment! Just a correction though. Something I did not clarify was that the C-3PO statue, which was about 30cm tall, was something Daniels brought with himself, and made it a centerpiece of every photo with a fan. The cosplayers I mentioned were two people with anime costumes from Seven Deadly Sins I believe, and they had large anime weapons with them, one being a large axe. Those were the things that Daniels called trash. The deal with the statue of C-3PO was that he wanted the fan and him holding the figure together in their hands. The fan held the base in their palm and Daniels supported it with his hand. I got the gist of what he wanted by the time my turn came, so I had my palm ready.
Hm. _Someone clearly watched _*_Creepio_*_ from Zenger's AI videos._ 'Cause there's literally NOTHING implicating Anthony Daniels of doing bad things.
I had similar experience with Daniels when he attended the Prague Comic Con. During his Q&A all he did was run around, promote his book and insult fans when they asked him his question (Unless it was ultra-C-3PO-centric). Most people there however had fun and took it well, since they were under the impression that he was doing a bit, and that his behaviour was self-aware. I who knew about his personality from before, knew better. I did get a photo with him, for my own collection, rather than any admiration of him. And it was really unpleasant. Not for me though, I lucked out. The people before me in the booth were a pair of cosplayers, whose accesories made it hard for them to get into the cookie-cutter position he wanted, where he and the quests held together a C-3PO statue. He was extremely rude with them, calling their home-meade weapon replicas and stuff 'trash' and he very bluntly questioned their intelligence. By the time they left they were visibly upset. However since I got to see what he wanted, I got into the correct position right away, before he could even start explaining, which visibly suprised him, and I earned a "Thank you! Finally a clever person..." from him in a most patronising and condescending manner. But it was clear that he was indeed thankful, since he had to spend a few less seconds with another moronic fan.
He chose poorly.
Hey keep making the videos about assholes and I'll keep watching them.
I mean I'm sure he is a piece of shit and everything you said is absolutely correct. But this comes off as a personal matter instead of an analysis.

Tony will be known as the one hit wonder, The one hit wonder that indulges his ego, The one hit that he insists on being known for, whereas other one hit wonders wish they would be known for more than that one track. Tony Daniels is a misable person inside and knows how insignificant he actually is. I wouldn't be surprised if Lucas made C3PO a parody of Daniels himself.
A classic example of a man's ego and self worth outstretching his actual value. Don't get me wrong, I like C3PO, but that is a character.. a small cog in the Star Wars franchise. While Anthony Daniels did that part well, he made the mistake of making that success the crux of who he wants to stand out as, reveling in the past. Not branching outwards to more significant roles, and letting his ego run away with him. An actor is best known for portraying multiple roles, to entertain their audience, and their fans; but Daniels focuses on just one role, which he keeps reprising. There are smaller actors out there (like Matt Doran) who know not only how to talk to people without having their head up their own arse, but are able to express genuine humility when addressing their fans. Long story short, for the actors out there: don't weigh all of your success one one role, weigh it in your fans.
THIS🙏🙏💯💯💯
I like to call him Anthony "Damn" Daniels both because of the meme and because it suits him after everything he's done to others lol! 😂
I can give you another bad experience with a star wars actor I met, Peter Mayhew. I don't want to speak bad of the dead, but he was rude back when I met him in 2014. I drove 8 hours to spend the weekend for Melbourne Supanova. I waited in line to meet Peter Mayhew. He had his head down the entire time when he was meeting fans. He didn't seem to enjoy interacting with anyone at the con except for his wife. I tried to have a conversation with him when it was my turn in the line. I asked him about where he got his cool lightsaber/walking stick, did he get it from London? Knowing that's where he was from, he said no it's from the US. Again, would not look at me when I was talking to him. Flat out rude. I didn't even want to get in a photo with him the next day, but I already paid for the token. Luckily for me, I had two other guests to meet that weekend and they were 10 times nicer. I've been going to cons for 12 years and he was the only bad experience I ever had meeting at conventions.
Years ago, I read a comment somewhere that said Peter was rude to a fan and Anthony walked up and slapped him across the face and said in a scolding voice : "don't be rude to your fans, Peter!" Weird, eh?
Analyzing Evil: Chevy Chase So, I like him as an actor, especially in the Vacation films. But apparently, he's garnered a bad reputation amongst people he's worked with, even as far back as the early days of SNL. I don't know all the details, but I'm sure your research could shed some light on it.
He and Bill Murray have clashed on occasion too.
Apparently Chris Farley was quite the asshole irl, David Spade by contrast is actually quite approachable - most of the time. Apparently a lot of the tension and hostility that we see between them in the movies they were both starring in, wasn't acting, and they'd even gotten into a fight moments before one scene in particular on the set of Tommy Boy.

Like I mentioned before, there's a VERY telling pattern about the actors who play the heroes vs the actors who play the villans. Ian McDiarmid - Heard he's very good with the fans, and signs almost anything. David Prowse - Before his passing, he was lovely and spoke about his other roles. James Earl Jones - A titan who made time for his fans. Peter Cushing - The complete opposite of Tarkin. Sir Christopher Lee - A true gentleman who discussed so much beyond film. Hayden Christiansen - Humble as they come. Moses Ingram - HIGHLY underrated actress and a genuine person. Giancarlo Esposito - Incredible actor with a great sense of humor and very down to Earth. Mark Hamill - Evil TDS whackjob full of hatred. Harrison Ford - A bitter grifter who appears to only be waiting for paychecks and his own funeral. Anthony Daniels - Entitled & rude has-been that keeps trying to coast on the success of Threepio. Amandla Stenberg - HORRIBLE racist and a nasty human being. Jodie Turner-Smith - Race-grifter and subject of nepotism.
The last one you mentioned, I have no idea who she is.
