Let me just say, I used to go to church daily when I was younger. As I grew up, not so much. I felt like I couldn't connect with anything. My mind and my heart were going in two different directions. I was worried about everything except what I was supposed to be going for which is God's word. I was conflicted to say the least. Don't get me wrong, I love traditional gospel but it was music like this that got my attention. I hear the beat, then the words rang out and I could relate. You hear commenters talking about how this is not "of God" but this is what got me back in the church. I found a church home that was willing to accept me, flaws and all, and who listened to and understood the meaning of this new contemporary gospel. So, for me, the message rang out loud and clear. People are different and everybody responds to music differently. People should just stop making a fuss over others people's lives.
I know what u mean..and there is nothing wrong with that. But u must understand this, as a young woman myself I am learning that not everything we say is God, really is. So many of these jazz gospel, rnb gospel, rap gospel blah blah is not always 100% pure. We as humans do not like to fully conform to the word of God. We want to still be able to do things of this world BUT to not be judged about it we slap on God's name on it. In the bible David played the harp and he was able to cast out demons. It's not about the lyrics..or the track or the wardrobe..it's about truly praising God so that others can be touched, reached or healed. This doesn't show that in any way. Honestly it doesn't look no different than any other hip hop or rnb video out there now. And when a person who is not of God listens to this, are they receiving the message? My opinion 😊
Cassandra Parks as long as you have a personal relationship with the Lord and understanding of his word and the Holy spirit, the Holy spirit will teach you of right and wrong! People try to play God to much but God knows you best and he knew what it would take to draw you! I love your testimony tell it to the world and never let no one try to down play it or say it's wrong! As long as you know Jesus, he will lead and guide you to All truths!

Since when did Gospel have to have a particular beat to be Gospel??? Maybe they are trying to cater to a more youthful demographic who doesn’t connect with a traditional gospel sound. Things of God are not limited to one particular sound and look. If this is not your cup of tea, simply move to an artist that is.

This song speaks to their love as a MARRIED couple, and how God's love, mercy, and grace surrounds them all of their life. Why can't they bask in the joy of the Lord through talking about their marriage? Is God so stoic and dignified, that he won't receive glory through this song because of its urban, secular sound?
In 1 Corinthians 9:22, the Apostle Paul speaks of becoming all things to all men, that they might save some. This meant becoming a servant to others and allowing them to see the sovereign God that resided in him through his deeds and works. We're not going to save everyone through old hymns and slow worship songs. The world, married couples in particular, need to hear the message, even if they choose not to believe it.

The question we must ask, is what is the message that the song conveys? Christian brothers and sisters, let's step off our pedestal of piety and sanctimony, and encourage Warryn and Erica to continue to reach out to those who need to hear about Christ. I agree. I have been a follower of Jesus for many years and was not moved by the traditional gospel songs back in the day. I praise God for music I can dance to because as a Christian I love to dance. I do not go to clubs, I do enjoy different genres of music from around the world. I am not in church 24hrs a day, but I am the church 24hrs a day. Do I listen to every thing all artist put out. Absolutely NOT! I am happy that there is nothing derogatory, or lustful about this song. There are illuminati symbols on our almighty dollar but Christian folks are still using it right? The all seeing Eye of Horus is on the dollar bill. Many Gospel artists were not living right but people still listened to their music. It still gets played in church. All music that is made is made for different reasons. Pick and chose what music you want to hear and dance to or worship to. Use your discernment. We as black people, many of us like to dance. So choose music to fit your mood and glorify God in that!
