If you thought that guy's story was crazy check out this video and find out about The Unsolved Case of the Murderous Belle Gunness, “Lady Bluebeard”: ruclips.net/video/gxE5jtUaJL4/видео.html
So he hopped a trench, killed a man with his bare hands, captured 4 armed soldiers with an empty gun and then using captured and scavenged equipment fought back an entire defensive. What sorta call of duty nonsense got into this guy?
Chuck Keough oh nice! I didn't realize they had a website. I just looked for it on youtube. I thought it was really weird that of all the obscure things they have covered that wasn't one of them.
A similar thing happened to the British, Australian and Indian armies in Singapore, who surrendered to a shocked Japanese army who had ran out of ammo and thought the British were going to ask for *their* surrender......
Only 4, I guess thats good for an English :) Canadian guy got 77 with just with his mouth. " MacDowell then spotted one German going into a tunnel. At the base of the tunnel, MacDowell was able to bluff the Germans to think he was part of a much larger force, resulting in the surrendering of two German officers and 75 German soldiers. He sent the prisoners up out the tunnel in groups of 12 so that Kobus and Hay could take them back to the Canadian line. Although wounded in the hand, MacDowell continued for five days to hold the position gained, in spite of heavy shellfire, until eventually relieved by his battalion. ." source: www.vimyfoundation.ca/victoria-cross-recipients/
If you squint. But it's not easy to tell, a few chambers are going to be hidden by the mechanisms of the gun (including the chamber right behind the barrel), and one of the biggest rules of firearm safety is not to look down a possibly-loaded firearm for any longer than you absolutely have to. (Right after not pointing loaded firearms at anything you don't want to kill/destroy and treating all firearms as if they were loaded.)
hopefully you wouldn't waste time trying to figure it out. I can see a soldier doing that: "Benny, do you think he really has any bullets left?" "I dunno George, you'd think he'd of fired off a shot by now" "Why don't you check? if you look real close you can tell if he's got any bullets left." "Okay George." looks back "No George, I don't see any"- falls to the ground "Well I guess he had at least one left. wonder if he's got any more?"
There is a movie in which an African "Bushman" (Kalahari San) sets off to get rid of an "evil thing" (A coke bottle). He encounters a man with a rifle fixing his lunch and singing. The San picks up the rifle (not knowing it's a weapon) to ask what sort of stick it was. The guy puts his hands up then runs off. The San, thinking the guy was running from something behind him, so he runs too. It's a funny scene in a funny movie. ruclips.net/video/AKHU0MrArKU/видео.html
E Kramer2 Indeed. It's amazing that people call the movie racist. Granted it dose not accurately depict the real life of the Kalahari San but it's not a documentary, it a fucking satire. It shows "modern society" through the eyes of a "savage" "Are the voices in my head bothering you?"
No videos from the archives?!?! Well, this whole video is ruined now. :P May want to check your end screen settings. Also, thanks for all your work getting these out every day.
MKirk49 soap works because it’s molecules have a polar end and a non polar end, this gives it the ability to mix water and oils which allows for gunk to wash off your hands.
Can just imagine it. Hans: are we safe yet? Helmut: he's still chasing us! Ernst: da fuq? Herman: let's keep running. He might give up. Some time later.. Helmut: he's still coming! Hans: I know, let's stop and make a stand! Ernst: da fuq? Herman: this is why nobody likes you, Hans.
I bet the four German soldiers were little more than children like many of the soldiers. If Welch was a large well built man who was confident at close quarters fighting, I don't think it would be that hard to capture 4 terrified 17 year olds. However the chances of them ALL being terrified 17 year olds is pretty small I think.. Crazy story though.
+Preston Medley Geez, when i read Preston i thought you were gonna tell me that there is a settlement needing help... i guess i played too much Fallout 4, recently ^_^' About what you say, yep, but still many will say that hoping in good luck, and rush in desperate efforts to their doom :-(
Mr.Halogames yes machine guns were used in WW1 and even saw limited use in the civil war. However they were bulky, awkward and unreliable. If you were able to capture a enemy trench, chances are they left the cumbersome machine guns behind if the retreated.
Mr.Halogames he captured a trench and it sounds like one was mounted in the trench he originally captured. WW1 trenches were set up in horizontal rows so forces could retreat and still hold some ground. All the guy had to do was likely turn the machine gun in his captured trench 180 degrees and he could open fire on the enemy
Expected influx of foreigners talking abut something happened in the past their country done that was better upon this video. (weeny measuring to see who is biggest.) I am surprised to see a Canadian being the first doing it.
bro, i have never extensively researched the existance of santa either, or that of the magic tea pot circling the sun... but i KNOW ... they are bullshit. common sense brah... common sense....

Dominic Esquivel yes
This is the nonsense Call of Duty is based from.
TFW you don't respawn.
Men like this are what inspired ridiculously overpowered action heroes.
Bath salts.
This man just went solo in a squads game
Ishaan Shetty with no ammo
What he didn't know was that the german soldiers didn't have bullets either.
nice twist!
Ebani probably!!
Good one!
Ebani that actually would explain alot and be very viable
Ebani except he then preceded to use a machine gun with, presumably, bullets.
Who coined the phrase "coined the phrase"?
Dr Pancake Face Gaming ^^^
Dr Pancake Face Gaming whoa, coinception.

Wasn't there a British soldier who captured an enemy soldier with an umbrella? (Needless to say, he was behind said soldier.)

Yaas Canada!
I believe "magnificent bastard" covers it!
I wonder if this guy would get along with the guy who brought his sword and bagpipes into battle
Just 4? How about the guy who was a pacifist who enrolled in the army but in the end had to fight and captured like 97 or so soldiers?
Are you referring to Sergeant York?
What about him? This video is not about him and doesn't have to be.
who gives a flying fuck about anything you say
Love these military videos Simon, keep them coming buddy.
It's even crazier because you can look at a revolver from the front and see if it's loaded or not
If you squint. "Well I guess he had at least one left. wonder if he's got any more?"
Exactly! Plus, some revolvers have the front of the cylinder completely covered.
"Did I fire six shots or only five?"
It just goes back to confidently hopping into the trench, after that the soldiers had no reason to doubt that he was loaded.
I love these unbelievable war stories that you manage to dig up! Today I definitely found out...
Have you ever done a video on the Hope Diamond? If not I’d love to see one on that! Keep doing what you’re doing!
James Welch had joined the ranks of people like Teddy Roosevelt people who have challenged the Grim Reaper himself to a fist fight

Eric Taylor I love that movie! I think it's called "The Gods Must Be Crazy".
Yes that is the name of the movie. "The Gods Must Be Crazy", and it was awesome!
E Kramer2 Indeed. It's amazing that people call the movie racist. Granted it dose not accurately depict the real life of the Kalahari San but it's not a documentary, it a fucking satire.
It shows "modern society" through the eyes of a "savage"
"Are the voices in my head bothering you?"
Unfortunately of late people are tending to call all sorts of things racist. A true pity when it comes to that movie. It was rather brilliant truly.
I love the satire. It really does shine a light on how "civilized" we really are.
You don't win a medal in the military, you earn it.
What about the guy who captured 132 German soldiers with a 1911 doing World War 1? Look up Alvin York.
this guy just rushed tilted and killed everyone with his pickaxe
Lance-Corporal James Welch... what a brave man! Though, that 'Bonus Fact' was better than the actual first topic. Bonus Facts never disappoint! :)
No videos from the archives?!?! Well, this whole video is ruined now. :P May want to check your end screen settings. Also, thanks for all your work getting these out every day.
Lance-Corporal James Welch hid more than just a fist fight with the Grim FUCKIN Reaper
awesome bonus fact today! like a whole extra video almost!
I always enjoy your quality content. (On here and Biographics )
"Blood is Freedom's Stain"
-Bruce Dickinson.

2:20 Of course he did, he had them right where he wanted them.
“However, you are not Welch” 😂
Can you do an episode on the history of soap and how it works?
MKirk49
All my knowledge of soap comes from the movie Fight Club lol
MKirk49 how about the history of Soap and how he's so awesome? Probably at a high Price (badum-tiss).
MKirk49 soap works because it’s molecules have a polar end and a non polar end, this gives it the ability to mix water and oils which allows for gunk to wash off your hands.
How about a video on Charles Upham? Only combat soldier to win two VC's.
You should do a video on Adrian Carton de Wiart.
I believe, too, that in the first world war, a pilot attacked a Zeppelin armed only with a bread-knife. How do these odd things come to pass?
Can just imagine it.
Hans: are we safe yet?
Helmut: he's still chasing us!
Ernst: da fuq?
Herman: let's keep running. He might give up.
Some time later..
Helmut: he's still coming!
Hans: I know, let's stop and make a stand!
Ernst: da fuq?
Herman: this is why nobody likes you, Hans.
This is what we need for America, If all American Soldiers is like this, WE CAN WIN AT ALL WARS!
I must be this guy reincarnated because I do this all the time in nearly every Call of Duty game.
You can always tell which ones Karl wrote by the jokes. 😂
This dude was a fucking monster. Holy shit.
Those soldiers got finessed
Why does time go by much slower when you’re a kid?
Yep, sounds like a British soldier to me.
where is the video about Alves dos Reis?
Those business stock photos never fit in with the war stories lol
I thought he captured German Mutants until i watched
i thought you were gonna talk about some dude who captured soldiers with four arms
Hey could you do a documentary about where does the term Sadie Hawkins come from.
Wait, I’m confused. What was he armed with? And I’m not really sure if it had bullets or not.
What was he armed with I didn't catch that part
Don't tell me that CoD is unrealistic after seeing this.
He's good, but he's got nothing on mad jack
I bet the four German soldiers were little more than children like many of the soldiers. this this is some pre-metal gear solid shit
German! Really? I could have believed French without a blink of an eye.
Apparently my grandad captured Hitlers photographer and made him take a photo of him
Ammunition, not bullets
Every time a watch a Today I found out video, it's very jumpy. Is it just me?
Actually, a lot of people died saying "Fortune saves the brave"... no one rembers the failures O_o
"Fortune favors the brave", therefore it doesn't really matter if they died as long as they accomplished their goal.
+Preston Medley
Geez, when i read Preston i thought you were gonna tell me that there is a settlement needing help... i guess i played too much Fallout 4, recently ^_^'
About what you say, yep, but still many will say that hoping in good luck, and rush in desperate efforts to their doom :-(
why didnt he just pickup the first soldiers gun?????
Of course this one was authored by Karl Smallwood. :)
I found the background music distracting in this one
the germans could have been kids and were just scared shitless and wanted nothing to do with all of it.
hey do one on Wilbert K Ross from Kentucky who captured a bunch of German's
I wonder if I'm related to this bamf
Damn. Brad Pitt was a badass.
Why didn't he grab the gun off the first one he killed?
1080p60
Those poor four-armed German soldiers…
Your hyphenation implies that each German soldier had four arms... hahaha
Ranjeeth Mahankali who's to say they didn't have four arms?
It will be a disaster if this is a video game. :D
Lol inglorious Basterds all over again
Do a video on the yidis politics snadal
1:50 machine-gunning ? during ww 1 ?
Mr.Halogames yes machine guns were used in WW1 and even saw limited use in the civil war. However they were bulky, awkward and unreliable. If you were able to capture a enemy trench, chances are they left the cumbersome machine guns behind if the retreated.
yes but you wouldnt have machine gun set up to shoot in your own trench
Mr.Halogames he captured a trench and it sounds like one was mounted in the trench he originally captured. WW1 trenches were set up in horizontal rows so forces could retreat and still hold some ground. All the guy had to do was likely turn the machine gun in his captured trench 180 degrees and he could open fire on the enemy
but still if someone entered your trench you wouldnt be probably able to aim at him with that machinegun
Yes dumbass. Believe it or not, machine guns were used in ww1
why didn't he just take the german soldier's gun he killed barehanded
Expected influx of foreigners talking abut something happened in the past their country done that was better upon this video. (weeny measuring to see who is biggest.) I am surprised to see a Canadian being the first doing it.
What up notification squad.
yea this didnt happen...
