HOW TO NAVIGATE THE MONTEGO BAY AIRPORT - tips to get you through MBJ quickly & with less stress!

So you’ve booked a Jamaican vacation and you are arriving into the Montego Bay airport.
Here is what you will need in terms of documentation / information:
1- A Passport that is valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned departure date from Jamaica.
2- Visa: This is unlikely to apply to those visiting for a holiday but you may need a work visa or student visa of some such or if you are planning on staying longer than 90 - 180 days you will need a visa. Check with the Jamaican embassy or consulate in your area if you think you may need one.
3- Customs Declaration Form: Before you go through customs and immigration you'll need to fill out a C5 customs declaration form. In the past these forms have been paper ones that you would fill out on the plane or when you arrive at the airport. There is a better way. do it online.
4- Proof of Return or Onward Travel: have a copy of your return ticket or proof of onward travel. Immigration authorities may ask for this as evidence that you plan to leave the country.
5- Accommodation Details: Customs officials may ask for the address and contact information for your accommodation in Jamaica as part of the entry process.
6- Vaccination Certificate -if required: Depending on your travel history and the current health regulations, you may need to provide a vaccination certificate for certain diseases.
7- Declaration of Cash or Monetary Instruments: Similar to almost every country, If you are carrying a significant amount $10,000+ USD you need to declare it to customs and border patrol upon entry.
8- Customs Inspection: know in advance if you are traveling with anything you need to declare.
MBJ has gone to online paperless forms you can fill out in advance. Before you arrive you should receive some information from your airline and it will lead you to the link to fill out the C5 Forms.
The link Air Canada sent us to was a link to enterjamaica.com and we proceeded to fill out the forms.
If your airline does not give you this information have no fear. You can go to the Montego bay airport website and scan the QR code or you can go to www.enterjamaica.com. This let's you fill out the forms easily and they will send you an email confirmation.
In this video you can see as we make our way through the airport right out to our transportation. We also show you the transportation desks so you can easily find your pre-booked transportation.

ya right, prepare for a long slow moving line, it took us about four hours of total misery to get out of the airport
Oh that really sucks! We arrived and departed on a Saturday and we were through quickly after the immigration kiosks. There were long lines for those who were waiting to do immigration forms when they arrived.
Next time,budget for Club Mobay. No waiting in lines...
What is CLUB Mombay
Where are? How if at all, can you do a digital copy of the form to declare your prescription medications when you are traveling to Jamaica? Also, is there any type of prescription medication that is not allowed in jamaica?

As far as prescriptions are concerned, I am not an expert but as far as I know you need to have it in it's original packaging along with a copy of your prescription with your name matching your passport, quality, strength and dosage.
I am not sure if they ban any prescription medications. Singapore was the strictest country I have visited, with respect to bringing in prescription medications. I followed the above list and it was fine. I assume Jamaica would be the same but you can double check with your airline. They would know more specifics than I do.

Hi, thanks for the information. I am currently on the immigration customs c5 card site, and I have been verified. However, for some reason, it has a shield security screen where I can not enter my information. Is there a reason for that?
Honestly, I'm not sure. We didn't have that notice. I would suggest calling your airline and asking them what your next step should be.

On th c5 for # of bags. Are they counting only checked bags? Or all bags personal item and carry on?
We did the number of bags including our carry on, but I didn't include my purse.
We had 2 checked & 1 small roller bag- 3 total. 😊

Critical, the Immigration C5 Form is required for each person, so if travelling with children, a form must be completed for each.
You're right and I can understand that it is definitely confusing!😊 When I click on the enterjamaica.com website, in the first section asking for your name it also has a tab for "family members with you". BUT it also says at the very top, under the 'welcome' "each passenger is required to complete this form".
Some people may skim read and jump ahead to filling out the forms.
Personally, we completed the form for each person and still filled in who is travelling together.
I am also flying Air Canada to Montego Bay next month. May I ask, when did AC send you the link to do the C5?
Hi! We did it 24 hours before our flight when we checked in online but I seem to recall that it may have been available 5 days before our flight.
Something that was disconcerting, (nothing at all to do with the c5 forms) but I wished I had known... the AC attendants walked through the cabin spraying a lot of insecticide before we were allowed to disembark. Next time, I will bring a mask for that part because I have no idea what we were breathing in. Ugh!
