Unfortunately these are same people that refuse to read and smash the buttons(not everyone but good chunk). They're blinded by modern stigmatized stereotypes of "war" when Natlan uses more ritualistic type of warfare. Natlan been called a popular VACATION spot and very colorful as they showed. African and Latin American cultures too are very vibrant and diverse.
I think people are just talking with the information we have. There’s one trailer out. I think we all expect more though

I've never been Africa but I've seen lots of nature documentaries of Africa. It's very biodiverse place with vast grasslands, rocky gorges, foggy jungle mountains, wetlands and flood plains, badlands, and one richest diversity of wildlife on earth next to South America. All very vibrant and I love it. ❤ 🎉

It's genshin signature. They already said this so many times in development video documenter. They always prioritize to use bright hue and saturation combination color for the environment so player can having chill time in the game.
Despite the bright environment, they can pulled off dark and sad story tho.

@@Kumire_921 yes i also think snezhnaya will be dark, but i believe they will still use mostly bright color combination for most area environment. Take an example on dragonspine. It is looks dark but mostly they still use bright color combination in the environment like with the crystall ice. i said total environment for most parts of the area, though dark color combination majority still used in certain area but not totally all around the area.

1. This is just a small part of Natlan.
2. One of the few lore crumbs we knew about Natlan was that it's a great place for tourism.
3. Genshin has always taken the core concept represented by the nation and questioned it at its core. What is freedom? Are you free if your god tells you to be free? What is wisdom? Is it knowing a lot of things or is it having the ability to figure out the challenges of life? So, what is war? Is it about bloody battlefields?
Exactly! It's always a metaphorical approach!
Freedom, contracts, eternity, wisdom, justice and now war.
I think people always think of these concepts superficially and don't get the idea of what devs trying to explain to us. I'm glad to see that some people get this;))
Because sometimes wars happen not just in larger scale. Sometimes you can wage war within yourself as well, like depression, suicidal thoughts, or even having your values and beliefs being questioned. Sometimes your worst enemy can be yourself.
Going back to the larger scale, you can also ask of where can a war be justified? Is it any way for war to truly end? How can compromise be achieved when there are many men in the same armor think that they are right? Will eliminating a threat will truly end the conflict or it will rise another one (power vacuum)? So many questions that beg answer and proper examination. Truly I'm looking forward at Hoyo's take of it because it may or may not resonate to the irl events and conflicts.
Seriously some players of Genshin aren't invested on the storyline and its themes at all. All they know is how to get ahead into Spiral Abyss and acting like overgrown toddlers who lash out when their expectations aren't met by Hoyo.

I really like the diversity of it all, like theres so many different biomes, just like in latin america! I hope they implement colombian culture in some way, but i also hope they implement things like the lack of seasons in countries that share parts of the amazon since we're in the ecuador and we have tropical climate.

Brighter a light is, darker the shadow it cast. Fontain teaser was also cute and happy, but it had some of the darkest stories to date. Sumeru's stories still felt out of fantasy books, but Fontain was eerier because those felt like it could (or did) happen in irl. I wonder what kind of stories we'll get in Natlan.
This entirely. Natlan is the Nation of War, and if these Saurians are going to be a big part of it, I'm expecting at least a strong "survival of the fittest" motif
Fun fact: France has actually had massive floods before, same for England (both are what Fontaine is based on)

I love how much COLOR the terrain has. Almost every texture has at least two colors that blend into each other at the upper or lower end of the object and that makes it pop so DARN MUCH I LOVE IT. It's giving chenyu vale designs and that's one of my favorite areas ever I think they had the same team in charge of the art direction for both natlan and chenyu. AAAA

@@lslawashere that was my first impression as well ! the dominant deep green teal palette would definitely suit mondstadt, but in chenyu makes so much sense as well since they're sitting right next to fontaine, monsdstadt and sumeru, so it mixes all their terrain colors (green, blue-purplish, light teal). Great contrast to Liyue's yellow grass, plus they're not really the followers of Rex Lapis, so it's like an adjecent sub-nation like watatsumi or the desert, which is reflected design wise. Anyways, Live laugh love Chenyu Vale

there are six biomes in natlan dw, it's pretty diverse. we, being the mounts makes it easier to traverse the biomes, less taxing than the desert sumeru
Indeed. I was really expecting something akin to Morrowind for this region.
Natlan is inspired by pre Colombian America (so as cold as Alaska,Canada,The Andes mountains in south America the Amazon and Caribbean plus west Africa with influences of Spanish music) it’s bound to be one of the most diverse regions in the game as of late.
Or for a more short version it’s seems to be inspired by Latin America, which can be seen by the presence of the Pre-Columbian civilizations of Latin America, as well as African and Hispanic cultures if we are lucky also it will have some Native American/inuet culture influence (pre Colombian USA and Canada)

The earth diving one was certainly based on Mona's/Ayaka's dash
The water swimming one was based on both the boat and summer event roller coaster
The green yoshi thingie is based on Jade Koi grappling.

Not from those nations but I've always expected Natlan to look colourful coz of their being different tribes, culture and graffiti.

The whole reason they made Natlan so pretty is so they can turn it into a desolate wasteland once the quest enters the heavy stuff!

From the lore of the new natlan artifact set, it names 6 biome each is one the tertiary of one of the 6 tribes of natlan
When they said their was familiar like animals I was totally thinking like golden compass

i did not expect natlan to be that colorful
The reason I did expect it was because it was inspired by South America and Africa and that was something we've known for a long time. It'll also have a desert and a lava field for sure, but most of the world's rainforests are on those 2 continents after all.
i think there will be an area of Natlan region that will be heavily volcanic and have no almost color like the badlands or the nether in Minecraft but much darker

With 6 "types" and maybe 6 corresponding tribes of Natlan. Maybe each is based on a Pyro reaction? Burning(Dendro), Crystallize(Geo), Vaporize(Hydro), Overload(Electro), Swirl(Anemo), Melt(Cryo)? With Natlan being a nation of War, having each of its factions based on the national element's conflicts with other elements would be cool.
The first saurian looks Geo themed with crystals(crystallize). Second is aquatic and swims through both water and lava and also flies on steam vents(Vaporize). Third shown is a bit more dubious but looks like it travels by shooting out burning seeds and slinging towards them(Burning/Burgeon).
If this is the case, it would be cool if Travelers kit was based solely on reactions. Man I’m so excited to use traveler with pyro colors
Then theres the flying bird/wyvern thing at the end which im guessing is our flying mount so theres only two saurians we haven't seen but know exists
The rocky areas underneath the grassy areas could be where the crystallize tribe lives, the grassy areas on top of the rocky area could be where the burning tribe lives, the high up area at the end could be where the swirl tribe lives, the water area could be where the vape tribe lives (and the lava area could maybe be in a cave system underneath), there could be a melt tribe far up north close to snezhneya where the melt tribe lives and finally maybe in a desert area in the south near sumeru there could be an area where the overload tribe lives.
Ya, I don't believe in cutesey trailer like this anymore. Remember Melusine teaser of Fontaine in 3.8? Thought fontaine gonna be cute and all, but ended up with murder mystery and witnessing God scarified herself with guillotine.

Actually if you look at the natlan weapon i think natlan will be quite technological too! Just not as much as fontaine..
So saurians are Chibi-vishaps. Those 0:08 "Geovishap Hatchling" (or Natlan's equivalent) are well fed, bring tears to my eyes.
I don't think Geo Saurians are that small. I can see the vibration of their steps. But still, they look so cute!😆

honestly this might be the coolest region gimmick were getting. its kinda like a combo of Sumerus and Fontaines but if it was pokemon
I don't know why people still expect this game shows crude things like war and conlfict. You can expect a short portion of that at the end of the important questlines or hiden under texts in books or maybe the end of secondary questlines, but it won't be anything you can see drectly in the world or the huge majority of interactions with the world. It would go more like "yay, let's go to live a colourful adventure with our friends and find the true treashire of life: friendship".
If you expect anything else in the surface of this game, you are in the wrong place.
Saw the teaser the exact moment it was shown on stream a few days ago, and I've gotta say, it's really grown on me.
The colors are gorgeous, the music is awesome, the creatures are adorable, and the landscape looks rich and varied.
Don't let doomposters get you down. They are temporary, Saurians are forever!

That one has a really prehistoric cartoon feel to it. I don't remember the name for it proper... xylophone? Something like that is pretty indicative of ancient times in pop culture and media. Which is pretty cool to use for these dino-like dragons.

The fact that they're giving us traversal forms(from the looks of it) tells me Natlan may end up being the biggest area yet and were going to travel all stretches of it to complete its stretch of Archon Quests. We may even have *more* Archon Quests, even if slightly more, than previous areas! Very excited, I've just gotta demolish Fontaine rq

@@maevocado1246 Oh definitely. I'd imagine they'd add mounts there too or another means of transportation such as the railway, horses, or sled dogs, ect. Depends a lot what they'll do next year. Of course Natlan won't be a slouch either. I'm extremely excited for Natlan and Snezhnaya, and not just cause pyro archon and Tsarista my most anticipated of the archons. I've been to Latin America it's gorgeous.

Btw, the prefix _tepētl-_ btw is Nāwatl (the language the Aztēcah (or rather more Mēxihcah and other Nāwatlācah since the only used this term when speaking of their old home, Aztlān, which is the region Natlān has its name from) spoke) and translates to 'mountain', so the name of this saurian species, tepētlisaurian, means 'mountain reptile/lizard'
Saurian, a term used by ancient Greeks, just refers to any kind of large reptile and isn't really a scientific term because it refers to a lot of different species whose only connection is their height
