How to find Illumise and Volbeat on Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald (720p HD)

This is a guide to find Illumise and Volbeat on Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald.
You can only get Illumise and Volbeat in Route 117.
And its very very hard to get them, so you have to be patient.
The chance of finding them:
Ruby:
Illumise = 18%
Volbeat = 1%
Sapphire:
Illumise = 1%
Volbeat = 18%
Emerald:
Illumise = 18%
Volbeat = 1%
Master Ball:
I cloned the Master Ball with a clone code/glitch. Give the Master Ball to a Pokemon, and clone the Pokemon.

Cristian Johnston no offence, but it's possible to get a shiny charmander in fr/lg and trade it over, and there's an item duplication glitch in-game in emerald, so you can get unlimited anything. I've been searching for over 8 hours consecutively though for a volbeat, so that might actually be a cheat
i was playing emerald and drinking some beers last night.. i found a volbeat by chance and caught it on a whim with a plain ass pokeball.. then my drunk ass quit the game without saving. now i can't find one for the life of me why didnt i save D: D: D:

got it in 23 encounters at the same place. you just gotta be really patient.
instead of finding volbeat i found a latios. but still cant find volbeat :(

i have roamed route 117 for the past 8 hours and i havent found one single volbeat.....
I had a similar problem. They're there, you just need a TON of persistence.

@dencbrown you probably found it cause your have Sapphire, am i right? its very hard to find in ruby and emerald

Old news bud, everyone figured this out over 10 years ago.

how can you get 30 master ball?
I don't know if this works for everyone but try using a rare pkmon that you get in a trade. example - i used a seviper (which is rare in ruby) put her at the top of my party, and went looking for volbeat. I find volbeat within three minutes.
1) death to volbeat
2) death to volbeat
and 3) death to freakin volbeat!

My Illumise is so stupid common. After a while I gave up on finding Volbeat and just threw my Illumise in the daycare with my ditto. XD
I caught volbeat in only like 20 tries in emerald... Damn I'm lucky!!!
He's cheating obviously.. He's either playing with an emulator or using the glitch to duplicate items and pokemon.
volbeat is hard for me to find in ruby but whats wierd i found a skitty on my first encounter i was like O.o

Yeah, you do. I have emerald, so the chances of running into one is 1% at least it's 50/50 with breeding. I got one on my first try.
i've got pokémon sapphire, it was pretty easy to get volbeat, but it took so long to gelt illumise...

well...i don't find any volbeat but i find roselia,illumise,surkist,marill,zigzagoon and i catch them.
Breed illumise. It is always a volbeat in the egg.

it took me about 30 minutes to finally find my first illumise in pokemon sapphire!

He's a cheater, you have to complete your pokedex toget the starter and you need events for that and those wet way before this video, also- he's got a fucking shiny charizard and 29 master balls
you are plain lucky... volbeat is very rare.. you can find illumise easily though...
