    Tie your laces differently, namely in such a way that instead of 2 loops, you have 4 loops. Then all your problems are solved and it looks even better!

    Can't wait for this shoe. Nike (Metcon) has rested on it's laurels and has failed to do anything with the Metcon. (The released pics of the metcon 5 look horrid)...I am glad Reebok went back to the drawing board and gives us a new shoe and not another iteration like 7 > 8 was. Great review!

    Picked these up (black with a different weave upper) for only 80 today. Got them for use with my One wheel and figured the wide heal, good grip and stability would be good for skating. One compliant after ringing about 10km my feet felt like they were on fire. I think just stopping a bit more often and stretching my feet would fix this. Would recomend if anyone is looking for a shoe for a OneWheel

    I will wait for sale, design are great, Delta logo was better looking for me, the only functional addition it's the extra cushioning.

    Foot slapping is coming from your heel landing. Check out Pose Method Running to help you out.

    • @Barbend
      @Barbend  5 лет назад

      Will do - thanks for the tip! I'm definitely not moving completely efficient in all out running settings. Since having surgery on my knee, I think I compensate for discomfort by altering my mechanics at times, so my heel-to-toe turnover/gait is probably out of whack.
      I wonder if the width of the shoe is also a factor in the slap because my foot is a bit on the narrow side & the 8s run wider naturally. I don't have the same issue in the Speed TR/9s, for example, or maybe it's the heel's firmer TPU/rubber constrcution in the 8s. Thoughts from a runner's PoV?

    How stable were they for squats? Any compression noted when you put weight on the bar?

    • @Barbend
      @Barbend  5 лет назад +1

      They were fine, IMO. Note, I only squatted up to 315 lbs in them, but I pulled up to 455 lbs and did a little bounce at the top like all the cross training shoes I test and noticed minimal compression.
      Would I call them the most stable cross trainers I've tried? No, but they do pretty well for handling moderate squat loads. If you're not routinely squatting 455+/or maximal amounts for that matter, then I think these will be a good bet for stability! - Jake

      Thank you! And it actually is in this model! The cast of this shoe is slightly slimmer compared to the 8, so it actually felt better on my foot, which is slightly narrower. The material on the interior also does a pretty good job at limiting how much stretch you feel, too. - Jake

    Good review -- sold me on the shoes. If only there was a way to deal with the problem of shoe laces being way too long without the trouble of getting and putting on shorter laces. I mean, I'm not a professional cobbler! I'm thinking . . . if only someone would come up with a way to make laces shorter . . . some kind of sharp thing that might cut the laces.
