Does the sheet metal block the functionality of the welding clamps? Seems like it won’t allow some of the fixtures/clamps to function properly by going all the way down into the hole.
@@JackSmith-jj3bi I agree. I know I would be guaranteed of dropping a critical nut or bolt ( or something) through the holes and have to take it apart to retrieve it. I know it’s a welding table but crap always gets placed on horizontal surfaces.
Perfect idea fmif you havr a small shop. Well any shop for that matter. I have the older HF tool cart and might need to go get the table and remount everything!!
This is cool..i actually might do this...... that being said, that drip pan you put on there is a major design flaw. The clamps that came with that table require you to reach underneath and put on a nut..... also when you drop small parts and tools through the holes it will be terrible to retrieve them
Magnet can easily get most of the parts I've dropped in there. Also the clamps that came with the table are garbage - most professional clamps do not need to be bolted in from the bottom.
EXCEPT, the clamp fixtures and others require a NUT on the bottom that you can not get to with the bottom covered. This defeats the utility of the nice clamps that come with the table. For more money, you can get shafts from 911 Motorsports that convert the clamps to just drop in. Personally, I would not really have cared about crap dropping in the tray, or would have used the provided top as a slide in cover when I was welding. Great idea to convert the cart like you did. Every similar to what I did with the cart with the solid wood top.
The shitty clamps that came with the table - you can use them on the outside 2 or 3 rows still. I've been doing a lot of welding recently - and still just use my magnets. I also have some panel welding clamps that I have used. If you had a table with the side panels attached as well - you still couldn't use the provided clamps. They do sell some professional welding table clamps that do not use nuts on the bottom.
Since you put the sheet metal underneath you’ll have to result to using the inserts hook clamps…they have them on stronghand tools and fireball tools websites. Just wanted to throw a suggestion, cool project👍🏾
Damn. I have the northern tool (klutch) verson of the welding table, and I just sold the 2 HF tool carts I had to free up space. Tjis would've been awesome.
I have the folding HF welding table and welded some casters onto the front lower fold out legs and a handle on the side of the top, that way when its folded I can wheel it around and still store it in tight places, theres a few other welding table companies who already make it with the wheels and handle on it so I just copied there idea, for the price of the HF folding welding table you cant really go wrong, I also have another HF welding table with the same mods and I welded a sheet of 1/8" plate on top of it and 1" angle iron around 3 sides so it remains flat, is still mobile, and I can tig weld on top of it, creative video tho overall combining the tool box and welding table to make a mobile table that works for you.
I had that folding table with the brass colored finish on top - never really cared for it. I like this version that I can just roll out of the way. Plus I am only welding every once in a while - and this makes a good storage spot for new parts 🤣
The provided clamps are crap. Any professional welding table does not use a clamp that bolts in from the under side. You can buy real clamps for about 20 bucks a pair online.
I'm pretty sure the cabinet has no holes or reinforcement for attaching any casters to it. As for the top of the box - still might cut the corners out and put it on top of the box below the welding table. As for a hinge - lets be honest I'm not going to be cleaning it out that often.
Just picked up the welding table and the 5 drawer tool cart. So doing this! Most Excellent.
Right on!
@markdamiani5277 so you likecthat set up

It's sitting down 2" or so - and the Titanium comes with clamps
I would put angle as a place for the tray to slide on. Giving ease of dumping and access to the underside of the table.

I sold the collapsing table - if it was on wheels might have kept it.
I did the basic same thing except I used the frame from the welding table and hung the 4 drawer toolbox under it.
Nice!
Great inspiration idea. Thank you.
Glad to help!

Yeah the provided clamps are garbage - I had already been looking at some of the brands you suggested. Thanks!
Awesome idea
Thank you!
Very nice. Like to see more things like it
We do have some more cabinents coming - and I will be modifying the welding cart once my tools/parts get here.
Couldn't you have just attached it to the lid of the tool cart? This way, you can lift the lid/table to gain access to the upper storage compartment.
You would have to cut 4 big holes in the lid to get it to work. Plus you would have to open the lid everytime you want to open a drawer.
"THE BIG TRACTOR"
lol love that
48" deck is wayyyy better then my 21" deck push mower!
great idea man. turned out great
Thank you!
My simple solution was to put casters on the welding table.
Simple but I wanted some welding tools storage as well.
Damn. I have the northern tool (klutch) verson of the welding table, and I just sold the 2 HF tool carts I had to free up space. Tjis would've been awesome.
Saw it in a Facebook group - and that's how I ended up making this.
Cool idea.
Thanks!

Works just fine.
How are you going to be able to use the clamps
The provided clamps are crap. Any professional welding table does not use a clamp that bolts in from the under side. You can buy real clamps for about 20 bucks a pair online.
Why not put the casters on the cabinet, and use the bottom tray as the top spark catcher?
Also, if you hinge the top, you can clean it out...
I'm pretty sure the cabinet has no holes or reinforcement for attaching any casters to it.

@bonecrrusherSS if an air hose and shop vac can't clean it, it was meant to be patina.
A tray and drawers. Just where i want my slag and grinding dust to go..
Ported a blower and welded on it plenty of times - no issues.
what in the Frankenbox... pretty cool though. Oh and you need some help with the lights in your work space to be more filming friendly
The door is above that spot - no point to add lights there.
"Big tractor" 😂😂😂
Its yuggeeeeeee 🤣
I also cut the uprights shorter so it’s not so tall
After drilling on it for a couple hours tonight - that isn't a bad idea.
The part # number for the harbor freight tool box ! Please
Grey Box #70375
@@bonecrrusherSS thks
I like that!!
Thanks!
That's thing is cool
Thank you!
Thank you!

Great idea…Waaaaay Too Much Talking. Stick To The Title Subject And Just Get After It Gutcrusher
You haven't seen my old videos..... 🤣
