What’s your opinion on French contrast or complex/contrast training in general? Also how do you train upper body? Sorry for the flurry of questions 😅. Am trying to and so close to reaching a 38 inch vertical. Once again love your videos ❤. Can’t wait to see you dunk!!

    Dude you for sure will get it. Thoughts on playing a game and looking for a tip slam? Feel like the adrenaline boost of competition would give you the extra lift. See the rebound before everyone, fly in off the wing, put it back in. When they call goal tending, tell them to kick rocks.

    you gonna get it to dunk consistenly keep it up G! i just turned 14 years old im around 5,9 with a 30 inch max vert and im trying to dunk your my inspiration! is it enough to just train plyos with and without weight and like do squats, claf raises, rdl´s bulgarian split squts or should i go to the gym in my age?

    • @RiqB
      @RiqB  6 месяцев назад +1

    I too, share the same journey! Where I came from, not many people could dunk, even if they can, they are always over 6 ft with bad jumping forms and their dunks have no power at all. That's why as someone who's 5'7~5'8 from that culture, I set out to prove that with maximum effort and the right training, anyone can dunk or at least increase their vertical and become so much more athletic, despite their height. If I can pull this off, others can, too! And it would start a revolution to this industry in my home country.

  • @Chrisgotbounce
    @Chrisgotbounce 6 месяцев назад +2

    Yooo I’m early, and I’m 5’6 with a 34-37 inch vert maybe higher I can hang onto rim with 2 hands almost dunking off lob too I been following your account for a while now it helps a lot, but also I have a question do you train your shoulders because that’s what helped me increase like 3-4 inches because your shoulders help with arm swing, and I have been focusing on my core a whole bunch being lean as possible for force production, but the question is do you train your shoulders as well, and your back, also hip flexors?

    • @RiqB
      @RiqB  6 месяцев назад +1

      I doubt it was shoulder training that increased your vertical but rather a combination of other things. It's just how good you are at bringing your arms back in an arm swing. But I do train shoulders in a hypertrophy type way

    Hi Riq, I want to try following ur vert training program as of rn but you did mention that I shouldn’t overtrain, As a volleyball player doing volleyball and ur vert training may lead to knee pain and further injuries so what split would you suggest for me that includes ur program and leg days

    • @RiqB

      I don't have a program myself but if you're playing volleyball, I would do volleyball 1-2 times per week and 1 leg day per week to start out. You can build up to more later on or if you feel like you can handle more, then go for it

    • @RiqB
      @RiqB  6 месяцев назад

      Not fully extended. Keep them at a slight bend. If you still feel more pain then you went too heavy and if you still feel pain then you didn't go heavy enough. There's a sweet spot that you gotta find

    im not on thp so i dont know how they program, but doesnt 4x a week seem like a lot? I don't think my body would be able to handle that, assuming it's max intent jumps/lifts. I know elite athletes have a similar regimen, but what about for someone who isnt at the level yet? did you start out with less volume? after you got healthy that is, bc obviously it would be less when your injured

    • @RiqB
      @RiqB  6 месяцев назад +1

      I build up to this volume and they programmed it so it would 2 hard days, active recovery day, 2 hard days, which gave me some rest in between. For sure still challenging and hard but thats how you improve.

    When you throw the ball in the air it doesn't rise high enough So you have to hold the ball in air and dunk it while you climb If the ball bounces up from the hoop you can catch it in it(sory for my english i am from turkey and my english is so bad ı used translater) By the way, I also have a channel and i am dunking

    Isaiah said in a thp podcast that a 1RM back squat with 300 lbs is not considered strong enough to really peak your vertical. On the other hand, 300lbs is still very strong for a back squat PR.
    TLDR: Get even stronger and stick to the program
    Edit: Your dunk journey is insane, stay on the grind
