I just uninstalled the game with 1400 mods after 50 hours of play because there are a lot of bugs that don't even come from the extra mods. The gameplay is heavy, a random NPC kills you in one hit while you kill a dragon in one hit.
You finish the game without being able to take advantage of the maximum skills.

sounds like someone was over estimating bethesda when they bought Skyrim, LOL
there is a bit more to it then just the combat, exploration, mystery, story's and encounters

Skyrim was outdated on release.
A cheap lazy cash grab with amazing marketing. The only saving grace was the modding comunity, the base game was and is horrible and it would never be as popular as it is if it was made by some 5 crew indie game maker.
Right now the mods are very outdated so 90% of them do not work, even the original Bethesda mods do not work.
The game aged very baddly.
