      Everyone’s wired a bit differently, but after I do a fast then the primary benefit is that my appetite switches from craving carbs to craving protein. The trick (which for some people is almost impossibly hard) is to reset your appetite so you’re not constantly fighting it. That’s why Ozempic helps, because it reduces the sugar cravings for a lot of people.

Yoyo diet!! I could not not gain weight during the maintenance part of the diet, with the new healthy eating plan advocated by the doctor. I did this yoyo diet cycle 5 times, and each time the weight came back. Three months after the last diet I was rushed to the hospital with a blocked bowel. Very painful. Fasting includes all the benefits he is describing. It wouldn't be for everyone, and it's best to build up to it, but fasting for 5 days at a time isn't all that difficult. Of course I work while fasting, and even exercise, running some. Diet reset is a main benefit, but I may have experienced aging effects rolling back as a result, eg. almost all grey hair turning colored again. Or maybe it was something else, but probably that as a cause.

I've fasted for 50-some days now--non-consecutive, obviously--with only minor complications (eg. dizziness), so I'm probably fine, but not everyone would be.

      @travisjazzbo3490 5 месяцев назад

      @@TheMagicLemur I have looked into this on a level that I never thought I would. A crazy fact is that I have a nephew that is about to turn 30 and a niece who is 28, she is all about carnivore (not 100%, she does have veggies etc) and he is vegan and they both started their paths around the same timeframe being around 10 years ago, both growing up extremely healthy and vibrant with their diets, and he constantly has issues (I won't go into all of the health and physical issues) and she is incredibly strong and vibrant. It is remarkable to see the difference vs when they were growing up.
      About 6 years he did bring meat back into his diet for about 6 months and he looked incredible - extremely healthy and strong - and the reason he slowly got back off that I recall is his 'dreams' were sort of aggressive or something like that. It was a weird reason. But he did, and went back to looking thin and having issues.
      Anyway... This is just a local anecdote but simple observation of majority meat eaters vs vegans is observable and overwhelming in terms of how healthy and strong they appear.
      Also, there is a lot of testing being done only recently on meat eaters with everything you can imagine, including longevity and the results are all looking extremely positive. You can do a simple google on that and see for yourself. As I said, given the popularity and massive anecdotal evidence of this diet, it is finally getting the attention is deserves. A lot of very respected Doctors have RUclips channels giving mountains of information on this with thousands of people weighing in, in the comments stating the miracle it has done in their lives for their health.
      Having said all of that, I am just comparing vegan to meat eating. Vegan and meat eating vs any standard American diet is vastly superior, obviously. I also think that Vegans absolutely need to take supplementation on those diets, but meat eaters it is likely not necessary

      Exercise can help keep muscle mass and lose a bit more fat, but diet is king when it comes to weight loss.

    Your mom eats meat all day and she just fine.

    If you eat everytime you are hungry then you'll forget what your hunger is for.

      But some eat so often they forget what hunger feels like. But then, to lose weight to learn that it is OK to be hungry for a while is fine. Find something to distract from eating.

    This is so stupid. If you eat only potatoes, you'll get too much of what's in them, and not enough of what's in other food.
    If you want to eat only one thing, just fast, that way you'll only eat your fat reserves.

      It worked for him. Losing that much fat is the top priority. And he's kept it off since

      Well I like that he DID sort of 'clarify' the concept. He was severely overweight, and he only did it for 2 weeks, so there was NO DANGER of him actually STARVING... The point was that for 2 weeks he ate ONLY ONE THING, which helped 'reprogram' his brain to skip extra 'snacks', or 'over'eat for the 'social/entertainment' value of the event. If you only have access to ONE 'food' you're less likely to just for the 'fun' of it, rather than eating just for sustenance! And I think humans can survive for a few MONTHS with only water, so he wasn't really in much danger. :)

      No, fasting can sometimes make you store, you actually want to eat more balanced meals in smaller amounts.

    • @janetl9984
      @janetl9984 24 дня назад

      It is only for 2 weeks if you cannot stop yourself from overeating. The theory is that you will get bored enough to actually remember to eat only when hungry. Certainly it is not for the long run.

    Being vegan is why Penn looks and walks like he’s 20 years older.

      @@kco1165 yes, and he originally just went plant-based for health reasons but said abstaining from meat somehow gave him compassion for animals’ lives and he’s vegan now.

    This sounds terrible of me to say and I know Penn is a bigger guy, but in my opinion even though he's thin he looks terrible. No muscle, just skin hanging off of bone. He looks unhealthier now than when he was fat.

    • @CharlieFader
      @CharlieFader 5 месяцев назад +1

      That’s what usually happens after an extreme weigh loss. It’s better to be healthy even if his skin is looser.

    Just stop eating sugar, wheat and corn. They aren't food. They're empty calories and are only for the food insecure (at least wheat and corn, sugar is just a drug). Those with access to whole foods don't need to eat that crap unless you're just into cheap thrills and don't care about the consequences.

      Sugar is indeed a drug. As powerful as cocaine and even more addicting than that other legal, passable by society drug, coffee.
