The Terminal Mix 2 is good for beginners or advanced DJs as well. Especially the included Serato Intro version is powerful but simple for users to get very quickly mixing.
True dat! Tried one of these bad boys myself and the jogs are awesome. The best controller-jogs I've seen so far and I have tried quite a few. The crossfader is also very high quality and the whole unit just feels rock solid. I used to love my NS6, but I'm gonna sell it and get me a TM4 because the jogs have a much more DIRECT feel.
I know the TM4 is a few years old, but it is so versatile, I don't use the sync as don't get to hear for the pitch etc and you lose the human aspect of the sound. I freakin love this unit, recently lost my hard-drive with £4-500 worth of bought tunage. Can't wait to get it all back and mix again. The only disappointment was that it only came with Serato DJ intro, deffo worth the upgrade to the full software though.
I can say this is one of the best product demo videos I have seen in a long time. Great mix using recognizable songs, and so many features showcased. Good show, old boy!
Scratching with VDJ is good - but the performance, sound, feeling and Jog integration with Serato is even better - you need to compare it yourself to check. VDJ also offers Filter and Delay effects.
If you are a beginner don't buy a terminal mix. Start with something simple like Hercules MK4. The terminal mix 2 will be useful if you can mix perfectly and already know how to use effects and do scratching. Once you have mastered the MK4 and then you want to do more stuff and you need more effect buttons or touch sensitive scratch, I am sure there will be a better controller available at that time than what is available today.
You might not be interested in scratching but there's plenty of DJs who are so speak for yourself. Judging by the rest of Angelo's videos he is clearly a DJ (or should I say artist) who's really into scratching so thats how he chooses to perform, just like some DJs today who choose not to scratch and some who even don't mix live! I know which kind of DJ I'd prefer prefer to watch. And in any case, it's a promo vid for the Reloop controller so he's obviously having to show off how it handles
being versitle is very important adding your own twist to the tracks he is not just scratching the way angelo juggles a beat and makes the track into his own beat is crazy its self im pretty sure no crowd just wants to here a song from beginning to end with any creative ness! so yes scratching is 1988 but dj developed so much more since then that its not even the same!
Thanks! I get what you mean, which is why I asked about the scratching on VDJ. Unfortunately, I only play music videos so Serato Intro is not an option for me, and from what I can see on the website I cannot pay and upgrade to Itch. This has all the features I want though so still going to get it, and hope that VDJ 8 is out soon and has better scratching! Thanks again for the reply!
Freaking awesome, as usual man! I'd love to see you do a demo like this on Mixxx v1.11.0 when it's released this month. I'm putting the finishing touches on the TM4 preset this week so it will come with v1.11.0.
I agree with your point that an experienced DJ can (and should always) mix live. I think it's obvious that being a good DJ takes years of training by why do u say this video is giving new DJs false hope? No one is saying buy this and become a pro overnight. Its just a demo showing what the gear can do. By your standards you're saying every video demoing DJ equipment is giving newbies false hope? Everyone has to start somewhere just like you did. What do you suggest is a better setup for newbies?
ok, im switching to cdjs coming from controllers. Been using cdjs for a while...i always have dj drops, my effects etc etc....is it possible to hook these up to cdjs and do the same thing ?
I just spotted this terminal at my local gear-suplier. Before buying it, I would like to know if this terminal is compatible with Serato SL1? Big up to Dj Angelo. Freakin' nice set, mayn! ;-)
Love love love your videos! I am definitely going to buy this controller. If you have time please would you answer one question I have - will the scratching quality be the same or at least "good enough" on Virtual DJ Pro? Sorry one more question - Effects from the Virtual DJ plugin library vs Serato effects - can VDJ duplicate the same effects that Serato has with this controller?
Soooooo.... Basically, today, in 2015, when a DJ is on stage playing music, and scratching using vinyl, it is just blank vinyl, right? What is that vinyl called?
that is DVS (DIGITAL VINYL SYSTEM) its a vinyl that send a mmm "noise" to a external card (rane sl2 - sl3 - ttm etc) and then is processed. its easy and complicated to understand jaja
ok presentation.. I have the buget for buying this produkt or the traktor s4(secondhand) what do you think wich of the two are better. Are they comparable?
I own a pair of rmp-2 and a rmx 40, looking to go digit for convenience, does the Terminal Mix 4 have external input for that I can plug my decks into?
Why the leds of the volumeter on the Reloop are just a few are on? Being that the gain of the songs is high, and Serato Intro supports 4 decks? thanks!
Question for reloop. I am interested in the terminal mix 2 for scratching but I am worried that the crossfader will not last that long if it is being used intensely. Can the crossfader be replaced because i have had units before and crossfader has gone in a few months and bleeds all the time
DJING IS SIMPLE TO LEARN, CREATIVITY IS THE HARDEST TO ACHIVE. Dont spend hundred of $'s on gear, and find out its not for you. I know plenty of dj's who spend easy 1000 $'s and sell thier gear a year or two later. A Dj isn't a push of a button from beggining to the end, a dj is when he takes 2, 3, or 4 tracks and makes it his own. Goodluck.
10 years has passed. I remember it watching this video after school, hoping one day I could buy a reloop or a VCI380. Such a good times :(
Bravo dj Angelo
@DJANGELO C le meilleur et suis fier de me former chez lui
