just recently finished this game on PC after letting it sit in my backlog. So glad I actually gave it another chance, amazing OST, and I enjoyed the story / combat.
Mecha Fanboy I mean, it is rather new and has not had too much major advertising. I know the PC version released in last year, and the PS4 edition only just released last week. That said, while the PC version has most of the game content (Code Mirai only has Acts 1 and 2 so far), the PS4 variant released with updated visuals and graphics.
I think what it needs is a solid working over by some editors. Ideally, call in the voice talent and re-record with a better written and directed script. The talent is good, but the script has massive issues. Tack on a nice codex equivalent so people can get the world better if your really gonna be extravagant. But other than that? It's a pretty amazing work, not just referencing others but taking apart the pieces and putting together something new but that rhymes with it's inspirations. Like the music is clearly inspired by Sawano but isn't a rip off of it. It's not trying to hide it's influences, instead it revels in using them as short hand and playing around with their meanings. Mechanically it's a solid game, which could use a little polish to smooth out the difficulty spikes (I'm looking at you end of act 2.) and slightly better tutorials and framing. Example: mission 2 is when you get the Mirai battleframe and it has EVERYTHING. Making it a fun exercise in power stomping the enemy. Mission 3, suddenly you have no weapons, only the psychodrones. There's no explanation given. Simply saying something like "Since we spent all of our ammo escaping the colony." or "After the stress of the emergency start the weapons aren't usable right now." to excuse this and teach the player the Funnel control lesson that is the level. Do those things, release it as a 'special edition' or something to get a little hype behind it. Maybe find some streamers to show it off a bit? It'll get the recognition it deserves.
This has the feeling of Archange (AC07) in the sense that it's like 2 separate unstoppable forces are battling it out, but has the sense that they both don't want to do it and that they're both should coexist peacefully, instead of Archange's old vs young feel.
I don't get it. I played Project Nimbus:Code Mirai on ps4 but then I saw a Japanese version called rise that looked completely different. So I'm just like huh!? You feel me. These designs look more like Gundum while Code Mirai looks more like an Armor Core!
Jesus all the weebs think sawano was the first and exclusively owns the rights to epic strings leading into rapid drums. Yes the man is great but anyone doing anything similar isnt copying him and other composers did that before him as well
Its most likely Mr. Ethan jeffrey was inspired by such. But silly weebs like you forget most modern jp orchestras are inspired by western composers, yes?

Mecha Fanboy no kidding
well it does now, and i'm getting this after my shift is over.

reminds me of Hiruyuki Sawano
