As someone who's grown up with digimon adventure. I personally liked seeing the growth that digimon has taken. It made me feel like it was growing with me. I love everything about the franchise from the good, the bad, and the ugly. So I look forward to the next movies. And hopefully, I can have them in the town I live in.
Same here. I just wish other seasons like Tamers and Frontier were shown some more love though.

I think u meant "abused by his mother" not "molested". Very different meanings lol. I liked how everyone in my theater audibly gasped when Lui picked up a bat for some violence.

the movie was good. I like character driven stories in digimon. The lesson about good communication being important to a functional relationship was really beautiful.
To me the bond breaking was a subtle hint from the producers to the fans to move on from their childhood when they grow up n that it’s just a part of life to leave behind childish things.
But we as fans don’t want that message we want to be digidestine for the rest of our lives we don’t want to drop it just bc we aren’t suppose to like “cartoons/anime” anymore or that we need to focus on work or being an adult.
Like being an adult doesn’t mean we have to give up our hobbies or likes and just be a mindless working slave were we wake up eat go to work sleep and repeat. Only getting two days out of the week (if even) to “relax”
Im not so sure what movie did You watch, but for sure the only thing they wanted to Tell us is that You Dont have to control someone as your puppet 😅. All anime are kindda childish...so your logic is not logic If You know what i mean 😅.

i think the whole "Lui is first chosen kid" Problematic when you have Oikawa and the original 5 chosen kids (Maki and Daigo) both obviously Predate him.
But again it could be Lui is actually just unaware that he is not first human to interact with Digimon and assumed Ukkomon was directly responsible for bond/Digivices.
But the digivice literally disappeared at the end tho after they defeated Ukkomon

oh yeah but keep in mind Ukkomon references that he is connected to a greater being Presumably to be homeostasis.
The thing is that the film doesn't interrogate this claim. Oikawa and the first Chosen Children are never discussed despite being a flagrant continuity error with Lui's claim.
The Digivices disappearing with Ukkomon is an implicit confirmation that it was Ukkomon who created them, despite the original Adventure series very explicitly stating otherwise.
All of this could've been solved by making Lui older and placing his meeting with Ukkomon earlier in the timeline, which wouldn't have negatively impacted the modern-day half of the story in any meaningful way. There's no real reason why Lui has to be a similar age to the 02 kids. He could've been in his 60s or 70s and found Ukkomon at the birth of computing, or something.
Digimon Ghost Game is ended on March 26, 2023 was back of Digimon Adventure 02: is the newest Digimon series, and a sequel to Digimon Adventure Reboot on October 6, 2024
Honestly, if the movie was a stand-alone. The dark tone could have worked.
Right it would of did a lot better hopefully we get another movie with the 02 team because this sounds like

The film does indeed have dark moments but I think that's what it do interesting.
Also, I like the fact that the movie emphasizes the importance of communication and relationships.
this is 1 hell of a dark movie, something i would not expect from Digimon, it was a story driven movie and i did not mind the lack of evolution or new ones, the story was great.
Digimon actually had a lot of dark moments, Tamers with Jeri, the Dark Ocean episode, most episodes fo Ghost Game, Digimon can be also dark and horror.
For people who mejor complain is how Lui retcons everything, I don't think that's exactly true. In obscure old interviews the director for adventure and 02 Kakudo has mentioned the fact that the number of chosen children double each year, that means the first one had to exist in 1995 which doesn't contradict anything up to this point, and Lui can be the explanation for the number of chosen children increasing for no reason in the adventure universe
But his wish isn't the case for the adventure cast and their partnership with their digimon, they were chosen for a specific mission by two other superior entities, in 1995 by homeostasis and 2002 by qinglongmon, but of course Lui have no idea of this and assume every chosen child in the world exist due to his wish, I personally don't think Lui's wish retcons the reason why the adventure cast (to had to restore the lost balance in the digital world due to the darkness and the dark masters) or the 02 cast were chosen (given ancient digimon who were able to armor evolve to stop the digimon kaiser), but just gives an explanation for the chosen children around the world while introducing a new problematic to resolve.
This is how I see the number of chosen children doubling each year according to the timeline
1996: 1 (Lui meets ukkomon)
1997: 2
1998: 4 (these kids with the ones from 1997 could have been first group, remember that time passed way faster in the digital world ultil the end of Adventure. it makes sense their story is a legend in the digital world since thousands of years passed for the digimon's perspective, this was also the year when the 4 Holy beasts were created and were later sealed by the dark masters)
1999: 8 (the adventure cast)
And so on
That doesn’t make sense because you are forgetting about Oikawa who was a digidestined in the 1970’s and Daigo, Maki and the rest of their group was earlier than 1995 I think based on my calculations more like 1985. I could be wrong though.

About daigo and the rest there isn't a single date pointing out the year they went to the digital world. Not to mention tri by itself if full of inconsistencies and plot holes, not a single person of the original stuff was involved in that project unlike the future movies like kizuna and the beginning
You're forgetting that in tri we see how the 4 holi digimon we're created. They were originally the partners of 5 kids and 2 out of those were shown as adults in tri (obviously the others were adults(at least 8-10 years older than taichi etc) at this point but not shown). So this new guy is at best as old as taichi etc but most likely is as old as 02 kids which makes it obvious that this loser wasn't the first chosen child and was far from it. Oh and I'm pretty sure those adults (4 holi digimon's partner childern also had digivices) which makes the end scene of the movie even more stupid cz in 02's ending they all had digivices and even if the consider the time travel part it still doesn't make sense since the new kid got his digimon after the holi digimon kids who had digivices even before this kid was born lol.
I likes the movie. It was bold and It was cool to see how the first digidistined grew. The dark scenes were gold.

I honestly loved this movie. Especially now when we don’t have any ongoing series, it felt so good to go back to Digimon anime.
My gripes while watching it was that it completely ignored the stuff from Tri gegarding the 02 kids being 'gone'.
Like here they are, minding their own business, not really helping during Tri (not sure how long before this Tri took place).
Also it felt like they didn't really plan their runtime very well. Which lead to a lot of exposition regarding Lui, people taking his claim of being the first digidestined at face value (wouldn't the special agents from Tri have digimon even earlier?) only to result in a very anticlimactic barebones final action scene.
I went in expecting a story about the 02 kids and found a by the book digimon story that could have included any digimon cast but opted for the 02 kids purely for visual dressing.
It was quite cool for me! 10/10 and 9/10!
Also love the inclusion of Herissmon and Kamemon in 2012, that means Kudamon 2006 still for me!

If Digimon Adventure 02 Reboot were to start at the beginning of October, and a sequel to Digimon Adventure 2020 Reboot.
Just seeing modernized Jogress animations and that castle got blown up is already satisfying
I like it felt like ghost games
I am all for more moments/scenes with the zero two cast. How in ways they had changed as adults and how they are still retain their key traits.
Minor spoilers ahead
Like Daisuke being straightforward (and when he acts on impulse and the rest of the crew "sighs" and are exasperated) but also having an introspective side, Miyako being gung ho when it comes time for them to come up with a plan, etc.
I also like the exchanges between Ken and Miyako alluding to them being a couple in the epilogue. They feel nuanced and meaningful like you can sense there is chemistry and they still relate to the movie's plot/message.
You explaining the bond idea how how the 02 kids always had their Digimon versus Tai and Matt not having Agumon or Gabumon with them is a solid idea on why the events happened in Last Evolution. When I was watching this movie I was getting a bit confused in terms of what was told on that movie and what is being shown in this one. If there is a new movie to come soon with 01 and 02 kids I hope they find a way to explain this plot point. Maybe even find a way to bring back Agumon and Gabumon.
The biggest mistake this movie made was focusing on a new character the majority of the audience had no connection to, like what Digimon Adventure Tri did. Most viewers wanted a movie about the digidestined they grew up with.

A major qualm I had with the movie were the battle scenes.
SPOILER WARNING AHEAD!!!
I felt like it could have been staged a bit differently. Specifically Angewomon fighting a little more (using her special attack) before reverting to Tailmon (i.e. getting slammed by a giant tentacle and de-evolving) and then jogress evolving with Aquilamon. In fact I wished we saw the adult level/champion level forms of the zero two digimon could have fought more or seen more of their special attacks before jogress. For the case of immediately evolving into imperialdramon I understand for the plan and to be ready to fight if Rui was not able to properly converse with Ukkomon
As many have mentioned the movie felt like a stand alone film, since the plot had little to do with the 02 cast.
However, I enjoyed the movie as I liked the story's mature theme, especially towards the end when Lui goes back in time to somewhat reconcile with his mother which brought about a positive change in his childhood relationship with her. I also liked the dialogue between Lui and Ukkamon near the ending.
It seems when they made this movie, it was intended for the older audience, since the written story seemed abit too mature for the typical 10 year old.
I was initially hoping we would get introduced to the 02 cast's digimon's natural evolution forms , such as ultimate and mega levels without the need of fusion. Hopefully, we get to see that in a future movie.
I think Lui's assessment of being the first digidestined is accurate, since he altered the destiny of many children by wishing for more digimon partners, which essentially made them a digidestined.
The first children that were selected to go to the digital world were not digidestined, but just a selection of humans that were pulled into the digital world. Fate (Lui's wish) was not the cause of them being chosen to be partnered with a digimon.
And the plot thickens that's all they did in this movie created plot to who really is the first digidestine, which I previously thought was Genie the old guy it needed more battles the lack of fights that's my only complaint the animation flawless And the dark water stuff and daemon was never resolved
I watch this movie in the english dub and to my surprise they keep the ost from JP Dub they also keep Lui abuse but as what i think about this movie i didn't hate it it was okay i wish there was more battles but that just me i do enjoy the animation for the evolution for the digimon but ultimately i would give this movie a 6 out of 10

It's a 7 out of 10 for me. A great message about communication was told but everything felt underwhelming. The fights, the stakes, their motive.
The movie would have been better if we had seen the effects of every single person getting a Digimon. We all know there are evil people in the world so seeing them abuse the newly born Digimon would have been a great way to see the danger of ukkomon. They could have balanced that by showing bad people becoming better thanks to Digimon or vice versa people going bad cause of them.
This could have worked so that lots of the digi-chosen could battle throughout the world like in the original 02, a nice throwback to that event
Also the 02 cast feel somewhat useless like, they were there just for the sake of it.
After seeing The last evolution I was expecting something great but this movie felt short

This movie should have either been a standalone movie or an 02 movie. The two sides of the movie don’t mix well at all. I wouldn’t mind the lore implications if they actually challenged them instead of it not really mattering in the story. This could have been something great, but what we got was a mess.

US fans claim every Digimon movie isn't canon or that Wallace, Ryo, or Young Hunters aren't canon... I'm pretty sick of it. They're not just making fan fic movies. If anything, the Japanese only CD dramas are fan fic and unimportant.
This literally has them ho back in time to hang out with the new oc character who totally existed tye whole time and apparently caused the problems in other movies. When there was no implication of taht happening ever

@@tayuyamajik6525I read that the Tamers CD dramas contradict Runaway Locomon and Young Hunters, which are main continuity. They get their Digimon back right after the ending of Tamers. But in the CD drama, apparently they don't.

I wasn't able to see this in theaters due to work and my brother didn't finished Tri and Last Kizuna. When a dub version was drop on 9anime . I stop what i was doing ans what the movie . And yes these are some flaws with this . But i actually did like this movie . And there been stuff say we are getting a tamers movie . And i hope that comes pretty soon.

I'm sorry for the criticism, as I understand it may simply be due to a language barrier. However, I gasped in disbelief when you mentioned "molested by his mother". I believe you meant "abused". The former has an explicitly sexual meaning, while the latter is more general in nature, and typically refers to verbal, mental, or physical (harm) abuse. In any event, great video and review, I will be checking this film out.
I'm sorry for who lover this film I tried liking it but holy cow i felt nothing for it aside from pity for Louie. They need to leave adventure alone and actually think of previous stories that could work left unfinished

Always doing 02 cast dirty. The movie had very interesting concepts but it was too much for such a short time. It, at the very least, needed one follow up movie. I don't even think it is bad, it goes way too fast and you don't get any answer for all the things that happen. It just feel incomplete and rushed
This movie was nothing special and it made kizuna even worse then it already was as it pretty much goes against what kizuna was trying to shove down your troat about growing up and letting go of the past this one is no no you can keep your bonds While growing up, so does that mean that taichi yamato and sora have their digimon back? Or is that stupid timer rule still in effect that matterd to nobody else?
If they do another movie after this one it needs an insane amount of work to tie everything up and make the 02 ending work
I believe the whole Point of this Movie was to Counteract the Problems they caused with Last Evolution - almost No-One liked the Age Limit Idea the movie tried to enforce, so this was meant to allow Humans to Grow Up with their Digimon again. How they went about this was horredous though, suggesting that Digivices and Chosen Children were all Facilitated through One Digimon's Wish-Granting Powers, and destroying it all through the Shark-Jumping Trope of Time Travel...
As for whether this BS could result in the Return of the older Adventure Cast's Digimon, that's up for Debate - I personally don't think the interactions inside BigUkkomon's Egg affected anything but the people inside and the Digivices that had been created by Ukkomon's Powers, thus any Digimon already gone by that point Wouldn't be brought back with the Erasure of the Digivices. This is obviously the Least Desirable of all the Outcomes, and is just what I'd expect from Bandai at this Point, screwing over Everyone when their Message of "Grow Up, Babies!" was met with Backlash...
They've clearly Hated 02 ever since it first Aired, and refuse to do anything that would Repair the problems they Regretted - preferring to force Everyone Else to hate it as much as They do. This Movie's Sole Purpose is to Kill the Adventure Continuity completely so they don't have to make another 02 Film to Fix this! And I'd rather they Don't make another Film, or they're going to drag all the Other Digimon Franchises into the Toilet with it...

it's really not a good movie, not trash, just...badly executed.
I only got aggravated by hearing another "victimized" protagonist, being voiced by Shiniji Ikari's VA hahaha, it's just expected....animations was (new jogress were a plus)....mid, fights could've been longer, in itself, it was just a introduction to Loui, including the 02 Protragonists by accident, which c'mon guys, we KNOW; WE FANS KNOW, THEY ARE seriously underdeveloped, and fans have long awaited chances to see them flourish, to see more than just being de DA 02 run, to deepen all the "chosen childs" the DA 01 lore formed, and gave them continuation with the DA 02! just to be like in the series finale "oh, look, NOW, we will never use them again, until some rushed weird movie".
I kno we not talkn bout but digimon frontier was kinda lit just different from what we were used to just here to drop my hot take 😅
I think the analogy here is that we just like the original digi destined would have to put up leaving our digimon (memories of digimon) behind, just like in Kizuna. The ones who are complaining are obviously hurt but just like the main message of the franchise, you all need to move on and grow up. There will be new protagonists born from this, and you guys are stopping this development from progressing.
This is not pokemon where ash after 50 years is still technically below 18 yrs old for some reason. The old cast has grown and moved on. Time for the new heroes to step in, let there be new protagonists and new main cast digimons. Also i hope in the next series, they play with the idea of X Antibody digimons and also feature the Seadramon line as a protagonist which is my fave.
The problem is that in the epilogue we are shown the characters still with their partners. It almost makes ending of Last Kizuna moot. I have to say seeing Taichi and Yamato spending the remainder of their time saving the world to be heartwarming.
@@melissamurray8307 OP briefly mentioned the difference between original and 02 digi destined, the orignal pretty much lost everything, while the second generation ones stil have their partners. Their part was over and as adults, they needed to leave the digimon world behind. Its something like peter pan, only children can enter the world of peter pan and since the original were grown up already , the end was inevitable. also taichi and yamato pretty much left behind their digimon to attend university. this confirms that either agumon and gabumon die or get sent back to the digital world, severing their connection.

Just watched it last night. It was an awfull movie. Too much retconing that doesn't makes sense and just shits all over that was built before. Also they focused way too much on the new guy and I still ended up not liking him.

Retcons many things to tell its story. Thematically makes lok completely pointless and over all is just a cash grab again. At least ghost game is its own series that affects nothing else
