When you are presenting that kind of game to a bunch of people who are already mad at how your games have been developing recently AND even let people come on stage and ask question, you're just setting yourself up for disaster

They answer to shareholders and a lot of them. This is sadly the inevitable course for any developer that turns into a gigantic entity that has to support multiple IPs across every language and platform available. As they have to scale up, the costs scale as well which inevitably forces the company into creating games that can reach more customers to continue to make money. It's the story told again and again of the small developer becoming way too big to the point where they MUST make games that are intended to make as much money as possible even if it means sacrificing quality of gameplay. Sadly, I think Bethesda is going through the same transformation from innovative developer to out of touch publisher.

I've tried Path of Exile and to be honest it didn't really hit that itch in the beginning...Did I just stop too early? What kind of end game content is available?
Finish the game on standard mode to get a feel of the game and bosses and to also work out a build then start over on hardcore mode which basically makes the whole game endgame content

You can torrent WoW and play it on a private server, last I checked there were several and they were quite populated.

Mobile games are already the biggest joke amongst gamers(congrats on feeding the meme tho) apart from eastern markets, its blatantly obvious that the first 30 questions would be how they got to "a mobile game for our exclusively console/pc gaming community is a good idea". Diablo 2 got better than a remake. It got a fan-built love letter to blizzard north that became the new standard for ARPGs called Path of Exile. Go check it out.

There are plenty of decent mobile ports, look at Terraria or Fortnite; this doesn't appear to be one of them however.
Sebastian Brinkmann mobile games can be very good, if they concentrate on being innovative, using the touchscreen in a creative way, and not trying to be a console game. many indie games on mobile are very good and it’s a shame to not acknowledge them because of fortnite, coc, helix jump or diablo immortal
If there's a mobile game called the quest which cost about $6 it has no microtransactions and it's a good RPG it reminds me a lot of the Elder Scrolls Arena
There are a couple of good mobile games. Some can be scummy with micro transactions others aren't. It just depends.

Finish the game on standard mode to get a feel of the game and bosses and to also work out a build then start over on hardcore mode which basically makes the whole game endgame content
