Definitely a bird of prey. It has the up turned wing ends that allow it silent flight, copied by current jets. The silent flight is in order to surprise prey for birds of prey, less noise pollution for planes and it looks cool, too.
Golden eagle ( short neck and the shape of the wing ) but it still could be a sea eagle it's very hard to tell the sea eagle has white tips on its tail feathers, most likely a golden eagle.
Yes, I faff around a lot when I am getting ready to go out. I always run out of time at the end of the day. Nice video, and lovely to see Dougal. Toodle pip. ilona PS. I hope I can see this for real one day.
What a joyful surprise to see you and Dougal immersed in the Uist beauty! It’s so good to know you’ve been able to get out on the island and soak in the earth, sky and water beauty there. Thank you so much for taking all your grateful viewers along with you! Looking forward to the next happy adventure. All the best to you Andrew, and also, your new idea of consulting on camper van, etc.purchases, is an inspired idea , and will be so helpful to folks who don’t have your experience! You’ll be such a gift to them. Thank you again for taking us along with you!🦌🦅💗
@@andrewjditton You made your own luck heading up there to enjoy the scenery and the wildlife was an added bonus! Thank you for sharing, looking forward to hopefully seeing some more of the island and further afield when covid allows.
The light, the colours, the air, wonderful watery North Uist, the mountains of Harris, Golden Eagles and Red Deer, what more could you want? Andrew and Dougal of course! (And to be there myself) Many thanks yet again
Hi Andrew thank you for this beautiful video, the views from the trigg point absolutely stunning! What a lovely place to sit & enjoy your cup of tea. Lots of love to you & dougal❤️ xx
Andrew, and Dougal, that was spell binding, thank you so much. I hope all is well with you. Take care. You know, he was smiling at the end, definitely.
Hey Andrew, just wanna let you know, that I got a new job as a caravan technician because of your channel and the interest it aroused in me😃 Keep up the good work and give dougal a cuddle from me. Have a good week. Cheers Andy
Hello Andrew. Thanks for the video. We enjoyed walking with you and Dougal today. The views were spectacular. And to get deer and eagles on the same walk is amazing. Thank you.
I was there in 2019 when I've walked the hebridean way. That's a picture you can't forget. But then I saw the last ferry to Harris for this day. 55 minutes before departure and a 19Kg rucksack. It is doable 😃 And the view is still in my head. Thanks for sharing your walk.
Hi Andrew great to see new videos one thing I'm jealous of no one on the roads !!! Actually there's lots more I'm jealous of 😊 Lovely video take care 👍
stunning, well shot, good on ya boy. Love always seeing wildlife in the videos. Dougal was so energized on this walk. Keep up the great work. From Canada Liebe and Sharon
Fabulous scenery worth that extra climb at the top and lovely to see you both. We think it’s more likely to be a golden eagle 🦅 as the sea eagle has a very small tail. What ever it was it was great to watch. The deer an added bonus too 😃👍🏻
What a stunning walk Andrew & Dougal, well worth reaching the summit to be able to see those breath taking views with your own eyes. I love The Uists and especially North Uist where I stayed at Creagan Na Mara, I pray I get to return with my furbaby Jack Russell Madeleine ❤️
Eagles and deer, not a bad bag for a day out! I did Crògearraidh Mòr (179m), a couple of miles from Beinn Mhòr, in June 2019 and had very similar stunning views. Wonderful to have this on your doorstep. Love these videos Andrew. I'll try Beinn Mòr next time I'm there. Take care.
Lovely video , Andrew , great to be out and about with you again , seeing that golden eagle and those deer must have been truly stunning , and so close too , the scenery is magical in the strong winter sunshine , terrific weather for the beg. of Jan 2021 hugs
Great video as per usual. Loved the wildlife, as for the birds, going by the silhouette they looked like Golden eagles. I'm no expert so can't say for sure. I hope you enjoyed the tea and view. 👍🖖🏴🏴🏴
Hi Andrew, lovely to see you back and in such a lovely landscape. I also take ages to get ready to go out! A magical and inspiring vlog as always, thank you. Tony
"What is that?". I'm no expert Andrew but I'm pretty sure it's a bird... Fantastic vlog, as usual, and another destination to add to my bucket list. Thanks.
Stunning, the clean fresh air ilooks incredible, the age of the raw landscape is priceless, been missing seeing you and the top special dog, thanks Andrew 😊
Woweee!! What a view from the top! That eagle bird flying thing looked so majestic - it reminded me of when we saw one randomly sat on a fence post on the main road driving back to Cnip one evening. Great to see you back on the screen Andrew - From us two, your biggest super fans!! 😊👍🌅🦅🦌🏴
Great video Andrew and I've watched it again this morning, I'm sure it's a golden eagle, the shape of the wings with those very long 'fingers'. I know it's hard to judge scale on the video but with the hill as a back drop there is still a sense of how big it was. Congratulations, what a sight on your home ground 🤩 loved how excited Dougle was at the start 😁
I was thinking this morning how nice it would be to see a post from you today. Thanks for the video! I walked in a wooded urban park in a ravine with some elevation yesterday, which was nice. But nothing like the views you have!!
Wow! That’s got to be one of the most amazing, mesmerisingly scenic vlogs on the channel! Makes me want to drop everything and just move up there. What a fabulous part of the world, thanks for sharing with us! I know nothing on birds I’m afraid but my money would be on an eagle with the square looking profile of the wings and the size of it. We have buzzards around here and that one looked much bigger to me.
Another stunning trig bag Andrew, thanks for sharing it with us... 👍🏻 Definitely Eagles, my money would be on White Tailed Eagles, although the silhouette against the sky makes it challenging for a definite I.D. (for me anyway!) the WTE has a noticeably larger beak profile than Golden Eagle... 🦅 And what a classic moment with the deer on the sky line, simply awesome... 👏🏻
@@andrewjditton I could watch you and dougle watch paint dry and be very happy. But, that was very special. You done well to capture it all. James popsys owes so much to you.😉❤️
So good to have you back, Andrew. Thanks for such a wonderful video highlighting the spectacular beauty of North Uist. Hope you and Doughal are keeping well!
What a beautiful place. Fantastic video. I think Dougal must have walked the equivalent of going up there 3 times running back and forth! He was having a rest while you drank your tea though! Looking forward to climbing Ben Nevis in the summer.
Hands up to everyone else shouting 'DOoooooogh!' And smiling 😃
Me! 👐
Meeee!
Thanks Dougal! Another beautiful foray into the wild and lonely places with what's-his-name.
Dougal bags another peak, what a dog!!
If there are 7 dog years to 1 human year how many Douglas miles are there to a human mile on those legs, what a little star.
Thanks for sharing. So beautiful.
If any kind soul can throw an educated light onto the birds I saw, I'd be very grateful! Thank you.
Definitely a bird of prey. It has the up turned wing ends that allow it silent flight, copied by current jets. The silent flight is in order to surprise prey for birds of prey, less noise pollution for planes and it looks cool, too.
At the 9 and a half minute mark - Golden Eagle. Way to big for a Tourist Eagle (Buzzard)
That sure looked like a Golden Eagle to me!
Valerie Ann I think it was a young eagle , eagles can live to over 30 years old .
Golden eagle ( short neck and the shape of the wing ) but it still could be a sea eagle it's very hard to tell the sea eagle has white tips on its tail feathers, most likely a golden eagle.
Loved the beauty and solitude of the place.
Absolutely fabulous Andrew. Thanks!

Wow! Gorgeous, gorgeous, stunning views! Golden eagles and majestic deer! Andrew’s a lucky boy! x
Yes, I couldn't have planned for that!
Beautiful place and beautiful day for it. I would suggest they were golden eagles, wings looked too long for buzzards. What a glorious sighting.
Agreed. I see buzzards wheeling around here in Co. Down very often - those birdies look a good bit longer in the wing.
Yes, it seems they were Golden Eagles. Lucky me!
