Crossing Land Border from Brownsville Texas to Matamoros Mexico

- Come with us as we drive across the land border to Mexico!
If you watch closely, you'll see that we only had to pay $4 to drive across. Others often walk across. It was a good five minute drive before we got to the heart of Matamoros.
It was completely safer aside from a few bumpy roads.

I’m from matamoros, nice to see this kind of content. You’re all welcome at Mexico, it’s not all about the cartels! Peace and love. ❤️
Thank you for sharing, watching and commenting!
Is it cool for us to cross now ?i want. To go this weekend to visit my family
I'd love to check out Matamoros looks Kool..
❤❤❤❤
A city name kill the moors is kinda sick
I've visited Mexico three times and absolutely loved it. Such friendly people that are so patient with you when try hard to speak Spanish. Now that I am retired I'd visit again, only this time stay longer. Excellent video; I really enjoyed it.
Thank you for sharing! And thank you for watching!
I used to live in Brownsville and I wish I stayed. I miss the Valley so much, sometimes I feel like crying.
Sometimes i feel like that too ive been feeling like that for 8 years now ..
I decided to go back now and start a new life living in Matamoros ..
But crossing to work to Brownsville ..
I just love the frontier life
@@djpacifista6655 what do you mean by frontier life?
@@TheFormula350 She really means the border life, not the frontier life. She mistakenly literally translated "frontera" to "frontier" rather than to "border."
7:26 Papagayos Cafe WOW ! ❤The oldest Café in the city so many generations i believe they opened around 1930 on the white gold era (Cotton) Nice really love that place delicious ! they use old fashion methos to prepare coffee its called "Old Grecas" better stop next time. :)
Mexico looks so cute!
It's definitely chic and cultural!
Wait until u meet the cartels 💀
@@fabianfollowerofchrist5299 I lived in Mexico as a foreign for 4 years, went all over Mexico and I was never stopped by the cartel.
@@mad3m6n You lived in right area.
@@damigamermx-us8291 yeah right: everyone gets stopped by cartels, just not everybody gets chopped up and murdered by them
My dad used to live there when he was a kid and now we live in Sherman tx and our grandma just died 2 years and God bless her🥀
Blessings to you and your family!
The ROSS STORE is in Brownsville Texas The U.S .Side the Bridge is a bit ahead we have many it depends which Bridge you want to take we also now have Veterans Bridge
Thanks for this. I have not made that crossing since the 1980s. Looks different.
Saludos a toda la gente de el limonal el naranjo San Luis Potosí a todos los que radican ahí en especial a la familia sierra del limonal slp
Do people live in matamaros and travel to Brownsville daily for work?
Yes! We actually met a US military veteran who did that!
@@illuminousone I’d imagine the property prices in matamoros would be a lot cheaper then Brownsville whether your renting or buying.
@@damianloder6080 this is true especially since the currency is in pesos
I live in Brownsville, Tx. and cross to Matamoros for dental work, medication and much more for great prices. Its not dangerous at all like it's mentioned on the news. Latinos welcome none haters to both sides of the borders.
Matamoros has many nice places to Eat including Garcia's just across international bridge ,also you can buy items in market center good prices
That place about 10 years ago used to come with a side of robbery. I'm glad to say that it has gotten much safer. I want to go.
Seems like yesterday. Lived in Brownsville for a long time and this brings back memories. I still remember when Amigoland was the big mall and Sunrise Mall the little one. I also remember the Plaza in Matamoros and many Cafes and Restaurants.
Your video made me cry, 4 years since I crossed to my hometown Matamoros following exactly that route 😢 was the last time I was able to cross the borderline
Thank you for sharing! May you be able to return home soon!
Impressed how clean everything is.
I agree
Loved it. Thank you for your great work! Keep them coming
Thank you so much!
Great job, cool music, loved it from Aus
Thanks for sharing this, looks like easy to drive in to Mexico, but how many hours in traffic 🚦 jam at border to cross back into USA?
Thank you! It was a good couple of hours, especially since we got into the lane that ended up being the slower one.
It can vary. I’ve crossed over in minutes, and at times in the evenings. I’m Matamoros, they actually have a channel dedicated to some cameras that show how the line is looking in real time.
Love this I'm from Brownsville. TX but now live in Stockton. California
Crossing into Mexico is way different than the lest time I cross it in the 80s wow
I’m born and raised in Brownsville it’s been 4 1/2 that I haven’t visited my hometown. I really hope everything has changed at least work wise.
I love Matamoros and Brownsville ❤️❤️
Hey what kind of camera do you use and how do you put it then?
Akaso7000 came with the pack
Hey! I'm from Matamoros and I hope you liked our city!!!! Send you hugs!! New subscriber
Thank you so much for subscribing and watching!
I’m from Matamoros as well. You should do one crossing from the newer international bridge. The one next to the University of Texas at Brownsville.
Next time I will. Thanks for the tip.
What is the new bridge called?

How safe is it there in that part of Mexico
Oh wow they have a Ross! They’re not much different than USA. I want to visit so bad!!!!!! Ugh! there’s something simplistic, ruthless, calming and cultural about it. Marvelous!
That Ross is in the US not in Mexico.
Are the nice hotels on the Beach reasonably priced or are they similar to South padre island? I love the ocean views and can’t stay to long on south padre island because of the expense. Love to pretty ocean and the sounds of the surf. It’s relaxing to me
We chose to stay on the Brownsville side and then drive over - most likely because of price but also because of convenience!
I love MX and my goal is to live there for one year to learn Spanish and teach English.
Nice video
Thanks!
Enjoyed it Sis! Great job with the vlog😊😊😊
Thank you big sis!
I miss going over there.
The buildings at the beginning make it look like mexico
I thought the same thing!
The US has such a backwards metric system. Every country uses Celsius and not Fairenheit, and kilometers instead of miles. Including Mexico. If I ever travel to foreign countries like this I have a lot of learning to do
That's the beauty of traveling! Always learning something new
Our metric system is the best. Who tf wants to use kilometers and Celsius? Tf 😂✌️
Camino Real right here ✌️🌄👍
I'm moving to Mexico from US. Ima hitchhike around mx for a while. Any tips?
Be safe. We only drove and were considering taking the bus to each Mexican State. The only tip is to be safe and join Facebook Groups with others who are doing the same.
@@illuminousone I'm starting from matamoros n walking to Mexico City. I'm culturing myself. I'll take the advice on fb group.

@@elbertmoreno2159 why not?? I will have close to $6,000 cash n a trusty gift for gaffe.
Can I get my TIP and FMM at the border?
I am not sure what TIP is. I am also not sure about obtaining the Mexico FMM at the border. However, the immigration office was not too far into the city. I am sure it is easier to acquire online.
Vivo en Browsville pero amo ir a Matamoros sobre todo por su comida ampliamente recomendado Restaurante Fortin de Bravo . Calle sexta sur, un poco mas delante de la ruta mostrada, facil de llegar enseguida de Nissan autos. 😋😋
Your video motivated me to indeed take the step to move to Matamoros and work at Brownsville ..
Ive been considering to get the sentri pass .. is it worth it ?
What is your suggestion ?
What’s that?
@@christianmartinez8700
So I'm already here
The sentri pass is a pass you get in the Border Patrol Offices
You request one
For 200 hundred dollars
It's active for 6 months
And after that you have to pay 200 dollars once again
It's really useful Beacuse it's a private freeway for Sentri users
Wich is a freeway to cruise the border faster in minutes if we can say that
Without it
You have to cruise the public freeway wich is most of the time between an hour or Hour and a half because of traffic
Your lucky if you find the border with no cars or very little trying to cruise the border at the time you trying or want to cruise it ...
So is very affordable for workers
Cuss like me If I go at work at 2 pm
I have to start getting ready at 10 am so I can be already on my way at 11 am and be cruising the border latest 11 30 am
So an hour and a half later I'll be finally in the American side somewhere between 1 pm to 1:30 pm
So yeah The Sentri Pass is convenient
Matamoros looks better than I remember it. I guess like any city, it can vary widely.
No really
can you walk over the border?
Yes you can. It was open at the time we drove over.
Puedo pasar con mi suv asi nada mas? Solo para hacer compras en matamoros?
sí tu puedes
Is the Hotel Brownville still there
i love matamoros
Yo AMO todos es tan facil de Brownsville a Matamoros 😮. I love everybody is it really that fast and easy to get to Matamoros. But I'm angry that my People in Mexico are starving I'm American poor but with the little I have folks can eat. Viva Mexico soy Chicano
.No es cierto...No se están muriendo de Hambre....!!! 😮
Very Nice Video, lot of places to go to Matamoros a Town with a lot of History, I appreciate you're video, what camera are you using on it? awesome quality!!
Akaso 7000
@@illuminousone Woow!! Thanks!! real affordable and high quality camera!!
Hello is this the same route/path the buses take?
Hello. Good question. I am not quite sure as I do not recall seeing very many when we went.
It is beautiful, but I wish the driver would’ve driven slower through downtown to enjoy more everything he was passing by. Like names of the stores, people d shopping and more. I still liked it!
Thanks for the tip
Notice how it didn’t turn orange when they entered Mexico
Thats the route to my house!
I love the mamasitas from both sides
Is it safe for Folks in the USA TO GO?
This was in Summer 2021. it was safe at that time that we went.
4 Americans just got kidnapped in matamoros, and 2 were killed. Lol.
@@hueso5071 why is that funny?
@@jasoncruz582 does it matter?
@@jasoncruz582 you asked and I answered your goofy question.
I am from Brownsville Texas American
Can you still cross without passport as long as you identify yourself as an american?
When we went in August, we had our passports but we did not need to show them.
U don’t need a passport. Just birth certificate or I.D. I’m getting surgery there soon
NOPE
@@illuminousonethat's nice of them. When you cross into Tijuana, they demand to see a passport. If you don't have one, they take you to a rear office and given a choice: pay a $20-$25 (depends on the whim of the agent) 'administrative fee' for entry into Mexico, or else return to the United States. I guess they're more money hungry in Tijuana than they are in Matamoros.
My home town harlimgen
I wish I could come to Matamoros Can you send me an invitation I will be grateful to you 🥺🙏
Good luck with getting an invitation and visiting there!
@@illuminousone
Well, I am waiting for an invitation from you 😍
I live in MATAMOROS México Ñ ÑÑÑ
Yay! Thank you for watching and commenting!
@@illuminousone yes i watch it because it makes me feel me better :)
I'm from Brownsville Texas but I moved to Dallas....
You should’ve narrated what’s happening… talking is much better than putting continuous music
Thank you for the suggestion!
@@illuminousone you can just start talking what you see as you go along... start talking casually .. many people find it more interesting and useful and obviouly this means more views and subscribers.. information about the history of the buildings if there is would be great.. how much the hotels costs.. what about restaurants or availability of halal food in the area.. local mosque if there is any... things of this sort. I hope u understand
FASTER WALKING!!!!
It looks like Panama City florida
I see! I've never been however I am from South Florida and it definitely reminded me of home!
@@illuminousone I am from iowa but I do enjoy seeing different areas of the country. The southern coast is by far my favorite. I’d love to see the south most part of Texas
Parecido a Europa donde abrieron las fronteras, los gringos no aceptan que tienen a Latinoamerica de vecinos😂
Here's a question - is it safe for a law abiding American to live in Mexico? Would they really be welcomed? I think being on a fixed income, it would go a lot farther down there. Hate to say it but I prefer to remain independent, free from government programs, able to do for myself...and that's getting harder & harder.
