Some of these gatekeepers of these other countries don't understand the Nigerian music consumer. There was a time we didn't care about Nigerian music, always bashing the artists when they made bad songs, they made much better music and dislodged the other foreign music that we were listening to before. Imagine how big Nigerian music has become, Nigerian music is not on top of the world so we are glued to it adding to the fact that it is homegrown. When other countries music was on top of the world, we listened to them. When Awilo took Africa by storm, today Awilo remains a strong legend in Nigeria. Check how many references of Awilo in Nigerian music. Make a heart twisting song like Libianca, Like Tyla, like Master KG, VIP of Ghana, which many Nigerians copied their music many times. Their song remains a club banger in Nigeria always. They fail to understand what Nigerian music consumer stands for. We don't care where you are from, give a song that's beautifully different from the Afrobeats made in Nigeria, we will listen and repeat. As a Cameroonian artist, don't make a song that sounds like a song made in Nigeria and expect that I'd switch to you.

Several times as Nigerians we go to the club - get tables and drinks and food &&&& the management will request that what do we want to hear to enjoy ourselves. Atimes we approach the DJs with sounds in a flash drive for the DJ to play
If we know a particular DJ is coming after paying many tables we inform the event manager that the DJ plays us “good” naija music
There are still many up coming artist in Naija & we don’t vibe to it all just because it Naija - it must be goooooooood

Kocee's song was a hit in Nigeria. There's hardly anywhere it wasn't played. But then, Nigerians move on once another good music hits the airwaves, and in Nigeria, there's a new release almost every month. Once a Nigerian artiste foes a song, he doesn't even wait to see how the song goes before he goes back to the studio. Nigerian musicians behave like they must work Monday to Friday every week to earn a salary. It's a discipline that's on another level for musicians who sell millions and are award nominees and winners. Between Credit Alert and another 6 months, do you know how many new songs that have come out from Nigeria? These Nigerian musicians are busy, you have to catch up with them, they won't reduce their speed to carry you along.

Nigerians rocked to music from Lucky Dube, Brenda Fassie, Miriam Makeba, Baba Wemba, Yvone Chaka Chaka, Majik System, Angelique Kidjo etc. Nobody complained about it.
The difference is, Nigeria is with a population of almost 300 MILLION people with tons of talent popping at the same time as with a stronger soft and staying power.

If you want to brake into Nigeria entertainment market, you must release at list ten solid good within ten months. That's exactly what Asake did. If you release one or two songs and you go to bed within four months then you have lost. That what happened to Cameroon guy with bank alert or credit card. I know the songs reigned like three months in Nigeria.

It's not Nigeria first before the rest.
It's the best first before the rest.
When Sarkodie was the best rapper (with native language that we don't understand) we gave him that throne even when we have Nigerian rappers. Recently he is no longer performance (producing top music) we give his throne to another.
In the world of entertainment, you have to be productive. Don't rely on one track, one match, tournament. It has to be on a steady level. If you can't compete, don't bother going into it.

These people don’t seem very thoughtful. I appreciated how you tried to push him to answer the question, but he couldn’t even manage that-it’s really quite simple. What you could have said is: We want to include more Cameroonian songs and encourage our young artists to create music that resonates with the masses. Next time, you could ask the DJ to play one or two Cameroonian tracks.
There’s no need for negativity. Instead, focus on encouraging your artists to collaborate and learn from those who are excelling. The blueprint is already there-just follow it!

But even at that, it's to be Nigerians first. There are hundreds of Nigerian musicians queuing up behind Davido, Rema, Burna boy, Ashake etc. So, for a Cameroonians or Ghanaians to break into Nigeria market there must be collaboration & the collaboration must be CONSISTENT but also good music. You need more than 5,6 & 7 collaborations to be known in & accepted by Nigerians' family. I want other African artists to collaborate & consistently too & I bet you Nigerians would embrace you & you sure will blow. Instead of criticizing Nigerians all the time collaborate with them nonstop. Nigerian artists put in a lot of work, huge work to be recognized even in Nigeria & globally.

When coupe decale was d order of d day in Cameroon u didn't demand such from d ivioriene population or Cameroonians weren't into music back then. All this is because of d common boundaries which has led to 'see finish attitude '. Cameroon n ivory Coast doesn't share a common boundary so Cameroonians relate with them with utmost respect n fear. Because kocee did a song with patoranking ,Nigeria should replace their national anthem with d song or have it sang in morning devotions in all d schools across d federation.

Guy, you're sick in the mind. Who told you their songs are good? People's reactions to them determine if they're good or not.

So because you featured a Nigeria artist and did promotion you expect your song to be played everywhere in Nigeria. Dey play. I have around a thousand hits song from different artists in Nigeria that their song are not heard nowhere even on the radio.
If you want to outshine the burna's you have to put out a "hit" song first that would be played across Nigeria, after that you can be singing rubbish and everyone will still listen.

How do you change this situation? Are we expected to force ourselves to consume your music? It's absurd to hear that. Is it really your entitlement that Nigeria must go out of its way to embrace foreign songs just to avoid the label of “Nigeria first”? Because of this, I should encourage my children to enjoy both Nigerian and foreign music. Hmmm, that’s...

In all he's saying he just wants to paint Nigerians in a way that suits his entitlement mentality. I don't think sai dj or club owner is a Nigerian. If u want such a club it's fair to open ur own club n look for like mend Cameroon dj n push whatever playlist u want. Stop crying fowl here man.

Is this guy out of his mind? He wants Nigerians to wake up and start searching for Cameroonian musicians and start streaming their songs without them putting in the work...He wants Nigeria show promoters to organize a show and bring in someone from Cameroon or Ghana to perform a song nobody knows about all because of what? He he felt the Dj was doing the most why didn't he go and meet the Dj in the lounge tip him to play Cameroon music

More again Nigeria have the market,i mean the population, Nigeria is the 7th or 8th populated nation in the world,i want to ask him this question How many indian or Chinese have promoted a single artist because the also have the market n the population, for Rema to breakthrough the indian market,Ha it is not that rubbish that guy is talking, did that guy know how many sleepless nights n days Rema has been working to make it,if he thinks it is easy, let him take an engagement to rise one Cameroon artist to gain first Cameroon market n CEMAC market for three years,
