  • This is a guide on how to make a handbrake for Thrustmaster TX / T300 Steering wheels using the buttons from the bases.
    This solution is not as good as an analog handbrake, but works on any platform and does not violate the warranty.
    Personally I think it works very pleasant and is easy to assemble.
    Unfortunately, this requires printed parts.
    All parts you can download from this link:
    www.thingivers...
    If you want a more professional solution, buy a TSSH Sparco Add-On from Thrustmaster. You can use it as a handbrake or shifter.
    PRINTED PARTS ARE NOT FOR SALE. PERSONAL USE ONLY!

    What's the "drill tool" used for. Are you putting the bolt in it to drill the hole through or? Also, what's the length/width of the bolt?

      Hi. I dont remember now but I think it was 12-16mm screw drilled with 2.5 and 5mm drill tool

    Brilliant idea, many thanks for the video, it appears its a bike cable housing, i can make or find all the parts but i dont know what those "set screw clamps/stops" are called that is used to hold the angled button pressing part, any input on what that part is called would be awesome. Again ty for the video 😁

      Hi. You mean locking clamps? I probably bought it on the internet, but such parts are often available where steel cables are sold 🙂

    • @rcguy7521
      @rcguy7521 2 года назад

      @@MR.EVERLOST Ive also tried searching in steel cable locking clamps but its mostly clamps for fastening, i cant find those round locking clamps with a set screw to lock onto the steel cable itself... its a matter of the "correct" terminology thats preventing me from finding these... lol. The way i need to construct this those clamps would be very useful.

      non-standard parts I made myself from steel plate. I bought the brake on the internet and small parts from a local DIY store.

    I see how you interfaced it with your wheel but how would you apply this to a PS4?

    • @MR.EVERLOST

      Mestizo69 on T300 base you have two buttons L3 and R3. You need map one of them as Handbrake and you ready to go with this mod.

    Is that a custom wheel? Looks like the TM 383 but the wheel is leather instead of suede.

    • @MR.EVERLOST
      @MR.EVERLOST  3 года назад

      Chceck my other videos, one of them is about this steering wheel. But you have right its TM R383 with leather. I decide to change oryginal wrap because it starts to peel off 😩

    How are you interfacing this with the wheel I mean what is the cord pulling where's the switch

    • @MR.EVERLOST
      @MR.EVERLOST  2 года назад

      Everything is explained in the video. The bicycle wire pulls the printed element causing the button on the base to be pressed 🙃 this solution is dedicated to Tx bases and t300 (if you can map this button as handbrake in game).

      TX base have A button and T300 as far as I know have L3/L4 buttons.

    • @MR.EVERLOST

      I have two metal plates connected with themself and mounted under servo. Look at the 14:01 s - I have similar metal plate under servo but mine is black so it hard to see it

      @@MR.EVERLOST alright thank you so much, also I have to say it is great finding your video I wasn't able to find any cheap handbrakes that actually worked with xbox. But now i can use any handbreak i want for this. Lastly did you screw it into the base or glue it? what would you recommend.

    • @MR.EVERLOST
      @MR.EVERLOST  3 года назад

      @@callmeizz357 I didn't screw it directly to the base. My base and part shown at 14:01 is bolted to a steel plate. In total, as I checked, I have 3 metal parts connected to each other and screwed to the base and the rig. 1 - metal plate under the base; 2 - bent adapter; 3 - part visible at 14:01 sec (all 3 parts are 2.5mm thick steel)
      *** But you don't have to do it as I do. You can screw this part (No. 3) directly to the desk or the rig. ***
      I know the quality of the video is poor but see 15:10 sec. Part No. 3 is L-shaped. The longer side is just below the base but is bolted to the short side straight towards the wooden crossbar - you might even see a screw.
      Unfortunately it takes a bit of tinkering but I'm curious about your results. Let me know when you build your handbrake - I hope you will do it even better than I :)

      I am considering to start my own business, so this is a great place for your idea. I know a lot of people want a product ready to use. DIY projects are not always successful. Personally, I don't use this handbrake anymore. I removed it from my rig because I need space for the Porsche cockpit console (almost finished). You can follow my channel, maybe in the future I will be able to create some products for the simracing community.
