      @@joefarrow1599I can see how "light" thinkers would see this video as just being for the lulz. However, this is how you teach advanced subjects like algorithms, data structures, mathematics and so on. You break it down to the bare minimum level (1 case) and then describe techniques that will be expanded upon further (in more difficult scenarios) that are fundamental yet functional and non-intuitive.
      You don't learn how to design RAM by trying to design a 64GB Random Access Memory from bare minimum knowledge. No, you have to learn how to implement the very basics of computer memory (trust me that is not simple) before you can advance into a '3x3 Rubicks Cube of Memory'.
      Are you picking up what I'm putting down here?

    Thank you so much! This video really helped me a lot. I'll tell you the story on why I wanted to solve it in the first place. One day I was walking home after solving some easy cubes like the 21x21, a man approached me and said I had great potential. He asked me if I wanted to join in a tournament. I said "Sure!" obviously excited. He told me I needed to learn how to solve the 5x5, 4x4, 3x3, and 2x2 to win the tournament. I worked my way up the difficulty. Starting at the 5x5 which took a few days. I began on the 4x4, which took about a week, then came the 3x3, It took a month, it took 2 months to solve the 2x2, just in time for the tournament. Since I practiced for so long, I had a HUGE advantage. Halfway through the tournament, I noticed we started at the 5x5, and the cubes kept getting more difficult. I thought nothing of it, focused on my solves. At the semifinals, I noticed we were only at the 2x2... then I realized. I had never solved the 1x1! The opponent stomped me in the finals. The same guy approached me on the street. He told me they were doing another competition like the one I had just finished. He said it was in a year, so I had time to practice, I've been trying to solve it ever since. I kept trying for months, until I came across this video today. This helped me so much! The competition is tomorrow. You really saved my butt. Thank you so much J Perm! Edit: why did this get so many likes lol

      I know why.That 21*21 is solved,that 5*5 need 1 step to solve,that 4*4 need 3 steps to solve ,that 2*2 need 10 steps to solve and 1*1 needs inifinite steps to solve since it can’t be changed.

      I know the second reason why 21x21 is easy
      2 is pronounced yi(二) in cantonese,and 二 has same pronounciation as 易,which means easy.
      So 21 =easy one

      I originally started with the online 1,000x1,000 since I do not own a real cube and I've wanted to try something more challenging so I purchased the 1x1 as my first real cube. Didn't expect me to be able to solve it by memory after practicing for 3 weeks. This is totally worth it except I cannot find any 1x1 comps, does anyone know where there are any?

  • @JudeStradtner
    @JudeStradtner 3 года назад +182

    Great tutorial!
    After a few months of practice, I was finally able to get a sub 1 minute average! After that I decided my cube just wasn't going to cut it, I bought a fully magnetic, Maglev 1x1 and was able to get a new pb of 52.31 seconds. I started learning Full PLL. I found the G-Perms really hard but I finally got it. A few weeks later I learned Full OLL and something amazing happened, I got a 9.92 Ao5! I'm think of putting the time and effort into slow solves to work on look ahead. Look ahead will probably bring me to sub-8. Do you think a should do a Road To World Record? 1x1 is definitely my favorite event. I really hope the WCA picks it up.
    Jokes aside, another great video!
