Yes, the four dice is a lot harder than the Rubicon. Very good run. Been doing it since the 70s with California four-wheel-drive association called Sierra trek just finished it but I drive a Toyota 76FJ 40 with 35 glad you got to drive it
@@Good-luck-Jonathan that was part of the challenge for us but definitely understand. I would say with a nice built beater it would be so much more fun. Especially caged
Talon Skids were amazing on both Broncos protected everything there were supposed to correctly. We had one small weld give up but I think it was the perfect storm between rock and angle of how it was hit to cause it.
You don't need big builds for this trail, though it is significantly tougher than the Rubicon. Some pals of mine and I did it last month as part of a quadfecta (Back to Back Dusey Ershim, Barrett Lake, Fordyce Creek and Rubicon, all within a week. Our little Willys and two 1950's Land Rovers ran on 31" (7.50x16") pizza cutters. Three of us drove every winch hill on Fordyce (Two 1950's Land Rovers and one Willys) It was a ton of fun for us old guys in old rigs. No bypasses..... This big equipment is nice for certain things, but several of us had an easier time of it in our smaller rigs. Great trail !! I was driving one of the old Rovers, It's never trailered, drove it to and between all the trails (also out to Moab twice this year).
@@TrailMilitia Check out Jpetrowich "Fordyce Creek Meets Vintage Iron part 1" And "Fordyce Creek meets vintage iron part 2" I'm the guy in the grey Land Rover, my buddies green one had burnt a valve driving down from Oregon (yes, like me, he drove it) He just ran all four trails on 3 cylinders !! (The entire Rubicon , from Wentworth springs to Tahoe took 9 hours, all in one day) Other videos of us doing Pritchett Canyon in Moab, ect....... There will be a new one soon of us doing Coyote Canyon in Moab..... That's a badass little trail, but our little rigs did it ! Should also soon be one of me doing the hot tubs and Escalator. People have a tough time wrapping their heads around how capable these ancient rigs are. Do not under estimate them !!
What case are you using on top of the white Bronco? And is that a Gezelle T4 mounted on the opposite of the the case? Looks like it fits nicely on the half rack. Thanks.
I'm under no illusion that driving a stick in that situation is much more challenging. But I would love to know if having the crawl gear would have made any of those obstacles easier? From the point of the broncos that ran out of gearing and had to winch not that they were stuck her in a bind.
He actually does have a crawl gear in the yota but going lower would definitely help in almost any rock situation. As for the Bronco after going through content and it basically going limp right after due to Rack breakage, I think thats really what it was… The system was already in limp mode combined with location and it caused it not to go. Ive been in worse situations and it pushes the 35s no problem.
@@scleco93 if any other 6gs did it without bypassing there is zero content on it which is possible either way sick AF if they did 🤟🏽. The only other group was about a yr ago and they turned around before winch hill 1 from what people said but there might be some trail ninjas out there
Thank you for being modest. Minus the Hammers, Fordyce is the last of the Wild Wild West, I’ve seen very nice broke rigs get completely driven over for being trail plugs out there. If you’re a dick out there, Ca wheelers don’t play around. Be respectful and you’re golden.

The trail fixes are great. Shows how capable the team is not just driving but wrenching also. Great series so far!
Love seeing all the IFS out there getting after it.
Fordyce is def one of the toughest. I’d give it to the trails in Johnson valley tho. Keep the awesome videos coming!

KC was putting in work on the Raptor. We need a skid plate update after this trail for sure.
👻 awesome, good job rc getting that wide beast through, and sherm, wow driving on your side. props

Broncos are great vehicle's ford just should have built the steering racks more durable though thats my only complaint about them.

The beater 4runner was perfect for that trail. Don’t feel bad about nothing. Too risky for my baby, but wouldn’t mind doing it with a built beater.
