I have had the pleasure of hearing this one live, and sitting just a few feet away. Tim’s speaking voice is so deep. But when he hits those high notes, they are spot on-amazing!
This was filmed on the deck of Austin's home outside of Nashville, Tennessee. If you swing the camera to the right you'd see his fishing pond. A lot of his videos are filmed in those areas, with a background of either woods or water. I think it was this video which led to the birth of their studio group Sweet + Low Music Co. They posted their shows, of a sort, online with Patreon subscribers getting the 3+ hours. Tim's sister-in-law and father-in-law were also in that group.
Sebastian's hand wasn't broken, but burned badly (in a kitchen fire, I believe). It took a long time to heal. If you watch closely in Austin's "Bring Him Home" video, you cam see the scarred hand as be plays piano. Sebastian is an impressive pianist!
You are right. I am not a natural English speaker. I didn't mean broken as in fractured bones, I meant broken as in malfunction/damage/not working well. I guess "injured" would have been a better word to use?
This is one of those that can be watched over and over and enjoyed repeatedly as much as the first time! Sadly, as mentioned on the live, the band “Sweet + Low” had to disband due to conflicting schedules of members of the group.
I actually remember the original of "My Maria" by B. W. Stevenson in 1973. Always loved this song. I was not familiar with the Brooks & Dunn version. I really loved this performance by Tim & Austin & the other guys. Liked Austin singing in his lower register. I don't think I have ever heard Tim sound so clear & crisp in his upper falsetto range. Who would ever believe that he is a natural bass who can drop down into the basement depths. Wouldn't it be cool to have these guys perform for you at home?
I'm in the 4-corners at about 6k feet. This has been a pretty nice year as far as monsoon starting a couple weeks ago. I think the high today was 83F. That's not bad for July in the high desert. We already busted 100 earlier in the year, but it is nice now. Peace, Love!!
Made famous in August 1973 by BW Stevenson. The song became a Top 10 hit, peaking at No. 9 on the US pop chart. It remained in the Top 40 for twelve weeks. In addition, "My Maria" spent one week at No. 1 on the US adult contemporary chart.
The members of home free have the ability to switch up the registers they sing. When Tim sings the higher parts, Austin will sing the lower tenor, Rob will drop down and sing baritone and Chance will sing bass. Chris Chatham is a friend of Tim's from another a capella group"Blue Jupiter". The base player is Chris Marion, Tim's brother-in-law and as mentioned keyboard is Sebastian.
Yes, Tim really has an amazing range. The cicadas really come about every year when it gets super hot in Late June/July/August in my state of Virginia (I'm in the southern part of VA) and these guys were in Tennessee which borders Virginia. It can get very noisy, especially in the afternoon/evenings here in the south.
I'm not sure if I have ever heard the Brooks and Dunn version, but am very familiar with the B.W. Stevenson one. It is a fun, peppy song sure to put you in a good mood!
They probably did record this prior to shooting the video. But maybe not, cicadas usually don’t get noisy til evening, and you can tell the time has changed to later in the day when they are filming the outtro.
So good! Many device recordings are here on YT of "Sweet & Low" (which can be a number of friends) at these backyard performances. The recordings are LIVE for sure. Loved it!!! Be Safe
It is a recording, not live. They might have just recorded it in Austin’s set up. If you listen closely, you can hear a second guitar during the solo.. They are all really great at lip singing. They do sing live to the track playing.
Ok sweetie! You are great and very good looking, but you are interrupting the flow of the song. Let the song flow and then comment and say hello to the crowd!

I also have heard it live. Just great!

#AUSTINBROWN #TIMFOUST.....so good!

Austin wanted to be able to stay home and have a family. He’s pursuing a solo career. He has lots of originals on his channel
The keyboard player, Sebastien, often accompanies Austin on his solo performances. Austin is wearing a bolo, a western style of necktie.
How good to see you. You have such a beautiful spirit. Thanks for doing a Home Free reaction.

Home Free has occasionally done songs off-mic in concert: How Great Thou Art, Auld Lang Syne, and Helplessly Hoping. Stunning!
It's funny that you have two of the highest tenor voices ever in Austin and Chris, and the bass takes the falsetto. Ha!

My gosh Christi .. what a day with the lovely you on my screen! :)

The gentleman playing guitar in the background is Tim's wife's brother. Austin does a duet with Tim's wife Jenika Marion.

this was a cover of a Brooks & Dunn cover of the original singer B.W. Stevenson song from 1973
If I'm feeling bummed out this is one of the songs I put on to cheer up, Ice Cream helps a bunch too!

Enjoyed!
Glad to see you doing a reaction to home free again. btw, love your necklace!!
Brooks & Dunn also had a big hit with it in the 90's.
Originally done by B.W. Stevenson in 1973
The bass player is actually Tim's brother in law.
I likely grew up with song (original), but the chorus run reminds me of one of the songs from The Lion King Timone, Pumba & Simba sing it. :)
You have to remember that Tim Foust is a contra-bass and Austin Brown is a high Tenor.
Too many singers, today, rely on electronic enhancements. Acapella is food for our ears.
You need to checkout the new Home Free with the new Adam
