      if you read any board, is not difficult, lm working airport almost 9 years l really angry people who want all persons put diaper on their back. Before airport lve been many countries l never ask questions only one time l asked manina niyon aiport which time Qatar counter turn on only that. l think people easy escape to read and to work little brein. bcoz every international airport same board and decribe way to find. Passenger asked question toilet l said 3 times even though after ten meters later they asked again other person. layz people, only European people asked less question they are following boards and plates

    Hi, when did you travel? Im thinking to book with Turkish Airlines but seeing negative reviews. Was your flight cancelled then rebooked? Was it a full flight? Thank you

    • @GlobetrottingSchoolers
      @GlobetrottingSchoolers  3 года назад

      We booked our flight a week before. There was no problem at all - no cancellation or rebooking. We were worried about that possibility, too. I guess it can happen?
      It was a full flight for both Spain-Istanbul and Istanbul-Manila.

      Istanbul Airport is big but I think 2 hrs of layover is ok. As long as your flight going to Istanbul is not delayed. You'll go through another security gate for your handcarry luggage but it's quite efficient so it won't take long. If still pressed for time, you flag down a buggy ride to the boarding gate. Don't worry, no bus or tram rides to take.

    What they ask before departure?

    • @GlobetrottingSchoolers
      @GlobetrottingSchoolers  3 года назад

      They asked for proof of Filipino citizenship (former or current) or visa, pre-registered swab test, and hotel booking.

    • @GlobetrottingSchoolers
      @GlobetrottingSchoolers  3 года назад +1

      At the time of our travel, there was no need for swab test for transit/transfer passengers. Unless you decide to leave the airport and explore Istanbul. However, since December 30, all international passengers (including transit) must present a negative PCR test result before they are allowed to board their flight coming into Turkey.

      Apologies for responding so late. In any case, at this time, you just need to register on the StaySafe website and get the QR code. Then perhaps the Traze App for the domestic travel.

      I hope that your flight in November will have less restrictions for smoother arrival process. Also, prior to the pandemic, Turkish Airlines onboard meals were good. On this flight, however, we had to settle for cold sandwiches on every meal.

    Some very specific processes to do on the way in huh? The airport is gorgeous ☺️ nice to be able to get a buggy so you can vlog in comfort 😁 the plane looks very comfortable too 😀 it seems most airlines are serving sandwiches now over hot meals, this looks good though!’

    • @GlobetrottingSchoolers
      @GlobetrottingSchoolers  3 года назад

      No social distancing inside the plane at all. Months ago, they seemed very strict with just one person per row. Not this time. And, yes, it's not the same without the hot meals. Not even coffee or tea. I really can't wait for this to get back to normal.

      For our Spain-Turkey-Philippines flights, the Turkish Airlines flight attendants just simply wore face masks. Only in the PH domestic flight did I see the attendants wearing full PPEs. Amazing. LOL.
