Yeah that would be ideal mate but unfortunately would be a whole new starlink dish/set up - ie a flat fixed dish. When we do driving days we pack down the dish and carry it around in the car but that’s only really helpful setting in an emergency (ie we can’t use in motion with our standard dish). In a perfect world we’d have a static dish on the car and another one on the van but with starlink that would mean paying for 2 whole plans 😕 The current single plan costs us $195 a month…
Great trip so far...I have done Perth to Tassie & back for.a total 4 times in last 6 months in 2 different cars Hyundai i30 and Honda CRV but not towing...and can vouch for the Telstra reception...also I reckon the WA roads are better but not the drivers 😂 Did you say you chew through a whole 140 ltrs of diesel for only 700kms?? OMG I have seriously misjudged for when I buy a caravan like yours as I only have a stock 76ltr tank on my Isuzu D-Max...😳
Wow you’ve done some driving! Yeah mate fuel use can vary a lot depending on the terrain. Offroad uses a lot. We’ve had as good as 15L and just north of 20L per 100km. Working on an average of 20L we’re seeing close to 700km on a tank towing and fully loaded up with gear and water. A long range tank is one of the best mods you can do if touring with a van.
@@Perth4WDandCamping thanks for the info...I have thought about it before but now for sure I will look into adding the long range tank as part of my upgrades 🤗
Love the Bunda Cliffs! Great episode x
Stunning aren’t they! Video doesn’t really do it justice
Incredibly beautiful coastline. There is certainly a stark beauty to the Nullarbor. Good to see your setup handling the various tracks well!
Yes we loved it and so much more to explore than we were told 🤗 JB handling the tracks well
Maybe have tge Starlink on the canopy when driving in poor reception areas?
