I don't. At a point, I don't really care about its future value or potential to grow. It is not fun to open boxes of that price, and I have no connection to the sets or cards to want to keep sealed boxes. I have old stronghold boxes that I hope increase in value but also don't care in the end because I really love the set. If they end up being worth nothing, I will have fun opening them. There are no boxes beyond the original MH that I have enjoyed just opening.
@@1992ceaser Pokemon is not played by the majority of people who collect them. That is where "gotta collect them all" came in. It is the reverse of magic. Given they don't have to worry about playability overall, they can make their best cards as scarce as they choose. Access to the best cards is not relevant for Pokemon overall. That approach for magic would be fine, but players get angry when a playable card is rare.
If 80% of the ev is only from fetchlands, then what's the point of buying sealed? Cheaper and fiscally smarter to just buy single fetchlands than to buy any kind of sealed mh3 products.
They are tricking the timmies with the special art crap. I always go try 2 buy the oldest or jus regular 1s. Try 2 stay away from universe beyond but I doubt me staying away from the product has any affect on this company.
Wizards has got too greedy. All non-Universes Beyond should be priced the same at launch. UB is a specialty product with licensing costs. Those should be expected to be more expensive. No reason for MH to cost more.

The price for MH3 is way too nuts for me to go near packs but I'll certainly pay for the odd single card to play, after everyone dumps them on cardmarket for less than the price of a single pack lol excited for Bloomburrow because the standard prices aren't absurd....yet.
I recently opened a draft box of MH2, only got 2 Fetches, 1 Esper Sentinel, and 1 Yavimaya, rest was all sub $5 cards...the floor is lower than you think.
Especially since the prices of fetches will still go down, even with the insane prices. WotC seems to think they can reprint everything ad infinitum and still use those cards to move product, forever.
Why don't they just make them $1000? Or $5000? Surely they don't care about consumer demand elasticity or don't see it as a relevant factor with pricing. I'll put my money towards other things.

I agree with this I wasn't a fan of the vehicle crap but loved the set dat chandra was fun chasing and round that time I went 2 battle for zendikar pre release and pulled verdant catacombs masterpiece I was dumb then tho n traded it like a idiot lol
Didn’t buy Commander Masters and won’t buy this. There’s no reason a booster box should be 500. Especially when I consider none of the cards will maintain their value as they print them into the ground.
The only way a box is worth 500 is if the price of single staple cards climb significantly and that is not/can not happen when you are reprinting cards to make 500 dollar collectors boxes valuable.
Commander masters boxes were $160 for 4 packs. If you get 3 of those it would be 12 packs for $480. This is only slightly more expensive than that for 12 packs. They’re just doing the same thing for slightly more money.
Capitalism. Cant keep flat msrp and flat revenue. Must reduce print quality and increase prices every quarter for continuous growth and profit.....even if your stock value has tanked due to poor management.

I think you’re right Rudy. I think it’s gonna work. I don’t really agree with the price point, but at the same time you cannot cater to a group of people that are not willing to spend money. The game piece, army as you call them is going to get left in the dust and those who are willing to part with the money Will be rewarded. As with everything it’ll take time, but I think it will correct within the first 12 months after it releases. There’s gonna be fluctuations like they’re always is, but once the supply dwindles, it’s just gonna go up from there.

I don't need a store, and it only costs a few sheets of paper and the basic lands I stuff the sleeves with. Much more economical for the kitchen table.

Collector Boxes could crash to $200 and play boosters could crash below it. WOTC has underestimated how much they have pissed off the hobby. Collector boxes are fine going up, there’s always an audience for them. But they need bring down the price of the core magic sets. They love to talk about all the different ways to play magic but the most popular ways to play are commander where people proxy or pioneer where the cards are fairly affordable. Modern will be the new legacy if it isn’t already. 🎉

There are boxes that are 10+ years old that are sub $300. How much room for growth is their? Compare this to the downside of collapsing to $200.

There's no way those are worth that much money. The very instant another run is announced those boxes are dropping by a third at least.
