I had the same exact issue with the same exact reciprocating saw. Accept my gearbox will not turn. I think it's probably the ball bearings that are froze up. I'm planning on spraying it with WD-40
I let it set in PB blaster for a week. It still will not move when I place a teeny screwdriver at the top of the circle gear it has space to go in but on the opposite side there is not enough room to put the screwdriver in. It seems it may be touching that side.
What was the problem? Mine worked great for over a year then started having problems. After releasing the trigger the light flashes and it won’t work without disconnecting the battery. After watching the video I now believe the grease in the recip portion has degraded and needs to be replaced.
@@derrickarmfield6382 my brother used this for cutting drywall and was neglecting any sort of cleaning maintenance. It got wet and that drywall dust caked up the gear mechanism seizing the entire saw. Thorough clean and grease replacement fixes it right up.
@@derrickarmfield6382 correction: it wasn’t the gears but where the vents to the brushless motor is, it stopped the motor from spinning not the gears, but I did re apply grease for preventative maintenance
On mine the reciprocating head is extremely difficult to push/pull by hand. I thing it’s gummed up and the saw is seeing high current and causing it to shut down with the light flashing.
@@derrickarmfield6382 definitely disassemble and clean up everything, give the motor an inspection and if the gearbox is free moving when you get there, check motor housing

@@PhilGrieves try it out! Use PB blaster as well it’s pretty good

I hear something moving around in the back of the circular gear.
Now in vertical format so you too can watch this for no reason whatsoever.
