  • Morning class, this week we’re looking at how you can create a realistic landscape painting just using 4 base mixes.
By concentrating on the different value planes seen in a landscape on a bright sunny day you can organize your approach to create a balanced painting.
I demonstrate with watermixable oils, but you can use acrylics and transitional oils. Really hope you find it helpful.
    Cheers
    Will

Have you got any suggestions for blending with acrylics? They dry so darn fast, I've had some trouble getting this lovely blending effect after I've blocked in my colors. Of course, getting faster at painting might help! But perhaps there is a method that might work in the meantime? Or if you have posted a video on this already, please link, and thank you so much! Your paintings are always elegant and deceptively "simple!"

I find using water as a medium for WMO is quite tacky and lumpy. I like using either Linseed oil (wmo) or thinner (wmo). i am using Artisan

For these water mixable oils...did you use any medium or just water?

I see 5 colours plus white
