    You can get/order PCBs in 0.4mm thickness, so it's entirely possible to have entirely functional PCB in that ring, you could probably even fit a copper coil in there to have RFID antenna, and make the ring double as an access card, with LEDs flashing on use, no battery or other builtin power source required.

    Love that ring. Wish I had a laser cutter. Looking forward to more videos.

    Great job! Can you do it in green and with some chips and resistors or caps on there? Maybe an RFID chip?

      @DreamwoodRings  4 месяца назад +1

      yes! I have done one in the typical green. Adding a rfid chip could work. I wonder how well it would do being surrounded by the metal.

      @@DreamwoodRings could try using that black ceramic material instead of metal. 👍

    Today I learned….. Multiply diameter by Pi to get the circumference. It’s only taken me 60+ years.

      @@DreamwoodRings I definitely will, I have a pile of boards waiting to be used for a project. With every ring I make though, I want a belt sander and lathe more and more.

    are you saying that you use the jet wood lathe for rings? and use the metal or the 3d mandrel on them? good video again!

    • @DreamwoodRings
      @DreamwoodRings  5 месяцев назад +1

      I use both! Just depends on what I am doing. cutting precise sizes I use the metal lathe.

      I may try that. I also could leave it under the laser a little longer and think that would help!
