In GTA IV there is a poster of him as a successful business man, hell even Tenpenny explained how gang loyalty is crap. R* is good at using subtle clues when explaining their stories, yea maybe the Ballas took Groove street but the GSF left the hell hole to seek peace. R* also is trying to tell the youth how pointless gang membership is in America, the tribal mentality will never give you the time to make personal progress in life, hence why CJ started making friends who would carry him to the top, outside of Los Santos. In the last scene it is pretty clear that CJ could care less , and in GTA V they referenced as GSF families being CEO's and or living in the suburbs. Making San Andreas 2 with CJ would be pointless , because he dosen't care anymore and will not return to the ghetto crime life ever again. Although I would like to see CJ in some cut scenes in future GTA games for the sole purpose to add some nostalgia and wisdom in there. Giving advices and awsome life stories.

I mean, the action in San Andreas happens in like 1992 and in GTA V it's 2013-2014. Which makes it about 22 years apart. A city can grow a lot in 22 years.
Considering the fact that these two games took place in the same exact location, it was a HUGE missed opportunity to not include more CJ easter eggs in GTA 5. Then again, since he is probably a middle aged man now, it teaches a good lesson that crime is for younglins. It's not a wholesome way to spend your time and you grow out of it. Still, there's an Easter egg with someone who looks like him and wears his clothes. Maybe it is his son.

If this were the same timeline as SA or rather if CJ and his family existed in both timelines, then the house could have been abandoned and torn down. They could have been killed in this timeline by Tennpenny or some other enemy of the Families. The old garage is still there, all tagged up and placed awkwardly between two properties, each having their own garage, evidence of the former, bigger structure that took up more property space. It could also be that they left the hood entirely because of their new lives after helping Madd Dog.

The thing you gotta realise is that each era of GTA is a separate continuity. GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas all take place within the same continuity (3D Era) whereas GTA 4, EFLC and 5 are part of the HD Era - separate continuity. So CJ never existed in GTA 5's Los Santos.

When GTA three was out, I was a little kid and I never really played the missions. I didn’t realize until 2020, that Catalina was in gta 3 which was set in 2001. In San Andreas which was set in 1992, Catalina and Claude ran off to liberty city and gave CJ the garage in San Fiero which is when the event of GTA three started. I always wondered why Catalina’s new boyfriend look just like the guy from GTA three. It would’ve been a mindfuck if CJ killed Claude right there after the farewell my love mission and gta 3 never happened
The "old CJ house" was probably destroyed, only the old garage is still here... remember that CJ wanted to leave grove street and continue his venture and buisness only Sweet was about the street and all the core members died so we can be sure that with only Sweet (maybe dead since), Grove collapse and drugs came back and ballas took the place and continue their old deal with drugs... in this timeline we don't know if GTA SA happened or not but some easter eggs like the garage is still here, but what is sure is Ballas won territories and style selling yeyos unlike GSF... for sure Grove street is a myth of power like Jimmy and Franklin talked about so in a way GTA SA is connected but doesnt want to connect for obscure reasons... i kinda understand for GTA 4 but since GTA SA was a great game and story i think rockstar wanted to integrate GTA SA to HD but since they state that HD since 4 is not connected they had a lot of schyzophrenia will doing it... a lot of thing make reference to CJ in GTA 5 not just an outfit like gta 4 for Claude...

To all of you commenting why so many things changed in LS from GTA SA to GTA V is because the GTA game divided into three universes. 2D Universe : GTA to GTA II 3D Universe : GTA III to GTA Vice City Stories HD Universe : GTA IV until now.
They've hinted that the events of San Andreas took place in the HD verse, my guess CJ and everyone went legit and moved to a nicer location I mean there's a 21-year time difference between the two settings. CJ probably convinced Sweet to leave Grove Street and go work with him.

I know it doesn't take place in the same universe as GTA SA but it's depressing to see Grove Street being taken over by Ballas and the Johnson residence has been demolished and replaced with a different house. It's like going to visit a childhood neighborhood, only to see your former home gone and strangers now living in it.

HD and 3D universe don't crossover so this isn't the same grove street where CJ lived in, the house was a 2 story house, and grove street had a bridge above it and there was a highway near his house too.
So here’s what probably occurred here. CJ either left Grove Street to help Madd Dogg and the rap business or was killed. Sweet most likely was killed because we all know he was always up for his hood. And Kendall and Cesar probably moved out to San Fierro after shit with her family and GSF really went downhill. Anyways whatever the case, with the fall of the Johnsons Grove Street couldn’t stand on its own. Eventually Ballas and Vagos saw this as a chance to take over once more. GSF still “stood” however it pretty much got disbanded into parts like the Chamberlain and i think some other areas i don’t remember. And obviously sadly Grove Street itself was lost to them ballas which they control ever since. And that’s pretty much the story here.
For people who are confused about where GSF members are here’s a explanation: so basically ballads have taken over ganton and GSF members are not there anymore but GSF is still in the game
The families are in the game the gsf set is not in you have Davis set carson ave set Chamberlain set and forum drive set gsf is referenced but seems like they aren't in the game alot of people think that the entire families is grove street grove street was a set of the families
Daniel I’m referring to every set as GSF because all those sets didn’t exist in GTA SA the game where it focuses on grove street. GSF is smaller than ever now,with 4-5 sets instead of 3 that just shows how split up GSF.not to mention that sets are sub gangs meaning they are in the same gang
CJs house was demolished, since he moved to Mass Dogg's mansion in the hills. But his garage still stands and to the left of the garage is still Sweet's home.
I know it’s an old video but the comment section really shows the lack of smarts of that part of the GTA community, they cant even comprehend what a different universe means or what’s an easter egg, as a result they get angry, aggresive and start making things up, even if Rockstar officially stated it, they behave like NPC’s in GTAV
The GTA games are set in the same universe kind of. Its just that since moving to HD they can't use the old characters and city layouts due to this weird copywrite thing or something. Which is probably why they for some reason didn't include San Fierro or Las Venturas. They still exist just in a different location now. Yet they can use characters that were never physically seen like Lazlo. Its the same universal story technically. Everything still happened but its different because the designs are different and they can't physically show old characters. Yet they can still sneak in Easter eggs like the MAD DOG poster in Franklins room. Or "Better than CJ" in that one mission. Or the biggest example having Lamar and Franklin casually talk about the old Grove Street Families wondering where they went. In GTA IV there is an old mansion that is a reference to the Leonne Mansion.

I never thought that was cjs house, I think it got replaced with that house to try to keep cj from being mentioned. I think there was some beef between the voice actor and rockstar a long time ago. Man i love trevor so much. Despite what everyone else says gta v's story is my favourite one out of all gtas. San Andreas had the best map but GTA V and IV the best stories.

Why do some people think these are in the same universe, the maps are extremely different with some same areas in different locations. If you actually played the games you would notice something this obvious.
Man, christmas day 2013, the only gift I got that year was GTA 5 for the 360. We never had much money growing up so christmas and birthdays were few and far between, and when they did happen they were always small. I remember opening up that packaging and being so excited. I had scoured for any information I could find about the game since it was revealed in 2011. I had a GameInformer magazine a friend gave me back then that had an article about the game. I mustve been in 6th grade when the game came out. Me and my older brother were massive Rockstar fans, he doesnt play games anymore but our fondest memories sometimes were just sitting inside in the summer playing Vice City and San Andreas on his PS2. I still remember the feel of the original GTA 5 case, how it had 2 discs, man I think I 100% completed the game in 3 days over christmas break. Mightve been 4 though, it was a short playthrough for me haha. Played it on a wooden bench, on a CRT TV in the corner of my room, Even though I dont play games as much as I used to, and even when I do I cant play for that long, I wish I could go back to that christmas break and just replay it all over again for the first time. I've beaten the game probably 50 times now, and although I've fallen out of love with the game, it will forever be in my heart as some of the most fun. Playing Online on the 360 as well, met some of the funniest and coolest people in my life. Crazyman165, if you're reading this, hit me up man. I miss talkin to you. Anyway, for the love of god when are we getting a new game? Red Dead Redemption 2 came out it seems like forever ago, and the only thing we've seen is lackluster updates for the Online portion, copy paste missions for Online with no fix to the actual problems that GTAO has, and an awful Mobile remaster for the Trilogy. Give us something good, so that the next generation can feel the same thing that we felt that holiday season in 2013

The "old CJ house" was probably destroyed, only the old garage is still here... remember that CJ wanted to leave grove street and continue his venture and buisness only Sweet was about the street and all the core members died so we can be sure that with only Sweet (maybe dead since), Grove collapse and drugs came back and ballas took the place and continue their old deal with drugs... in this timeline we don't know if GTA SA happened or not but some easter eggs like the garage is still here, but what is sure is Ballas won territories and style selling yeyos unlike GSF... for sure Grove street is a myth of power like Jimmy and Franklin talked about so in a way GTA SA is connected but doesnt want to connect for obscure reasons... i kinda understand for GTA 4 but since GTA SA was a great game and story i think rockstar wanted to integrate GTA SA to HD but since they state that HD since 4 is not connected they had a lot of schyzophrenia will doing it... a lot of thing make reference to CJ in GTA 5 not just an outfit like gta 4 for Claude...

HD and 3D universe don't crossover so this isn't the same grove street where CJ lived in, the house was a 2 story house, and grove street had a bridge above it and there was a highway near his house too.
So here’s what probably occurred here. CJ either left Grove Street to help Madd Dogg and the rap business or was killed. Sweet most likely was killed because we all know he was always up for his hood. And Kendall and Cesar probably moved out to San Fierro after shit with her family and GSF really went downhill. Anyways whatever the case, with the fall of the Johnsons Grove Street couldn’t stand on its own. Eventually Ballas and Vagos saw this as a chance to take over once more. GSF still “stood” however it pretty much got disbanded into parts like the Chamberlain and i think some other areas i don’t remember. And obviously sadly Grove Street itself was lost to them ballas which they control ever since. And that’s pretty much the story here.

I know it’s an old video but the comment section really shows the lack of smarts of that part of the GTA community, they cant even comprehend what a different universe means or what’s an easter egg, as a result they get angry, aggresive and start making things up, even if Rockstar officially stated it, they behave like NPC’s in GTAV

The GTA games are set in the same universe kind of. Its just that since moving to HD they can't use the old characters and city layouts due to this weird copywrite thing or something. Which is probably why they for some reason didn't include San Fierro or Las Venturas. They still exist just in a different location now. Yet they can use characters that were never physically seen like Lazlo. Its the same universal story technically. Everything still happened but its different because the designs are different and they can't physically show old characters. Yet they can still sneak in Easter eggs like the MAD DOG poster in Franklins room. Or "Better than CJ" in that one mission. Or the biggest example having Lamar and Franklin casually talk about the old Grove Street Families wondering where they went. In GTA IV there is an old mansion that is a reference to the Leonne Mansion.

Man, christmas day 2013, the only gift I got that year was GTA 5 for the 360. We never had much money growing up so christmas and birthdays were few and far between, and when they did happen they were always small. I remember opening up that packaging and being so excited. I had scoured for any information I could find about the game since it was revealed in 2011. I had a GameInformer magazine a friend gave me back then that had an article about the game. I mustve been in 6th grade when the game came out. Me and my older brother were massive Rockstar fans, he doesnt play games anymore but our fondest memories sometimes were just sitting inside in the summer playing Vice City and San Andreas on his PS2. I still remember the feel of the original GTA 5 case, how it had 2 discs, man I think I 100% completed the game in 3 days over christmas break. Mightve been 4 though, it was a short playthrough for me haha. Played it on a wooden bench, on a CRT TV in the corner of my room, Even though I dont play games as much as I used to, and even when I do I cant play for that long, I wish I could go back to that christmas break and just replay it all over again for the first time. I've beaten the game probably 50 times now, and although I've fallen out of love with the game, it will forever be in my heart as some of the most fun. Playing Online on the 360 as well, met some of the funniest and coolest people in my life. Crazyman165, if you're reading this, hit me up man. I miss talkin to you.
Anyway, for the love of god when are we getting a new game? Red Dead Redemption 2 came out it seems like forever ago, and the only thing we've seen is lackluster updates for the Online portion, copy paste missions for Online with no fix to the actual problems that GTAO has, and an awful Mobile remaster for the Trilogy. Give us something good, so that the next generation can feel the same thing that we felt that holiday season in 2013
