fozzy f Rocky // Docky what’s even better he didn’t have that many scenes but if you compile them all together he has one of the best character developments. Then it all ends with this scene, Theodons moment to prove his worth leading the charge and dying valiantly as he always wanted.
Then you remember he led them to charge against giant elephants with barbed wires specifically placed there to cleave cavalry instead of regrouping inside the castle and clearing it to minimize casualty

Vienna witnessed the most nummerous cavalry charge in recorded history. Ottoman survivors described it, as if angels themselfs led the charge.

Then you see the fruits of your labor come to fruition as the enemy routes but suddenly turns to silence and despair as you see giant elephants charging at you from the distant. So what do you do? You charge straight at them and wait for all hell to break lose.
Theoden knows the doom and despair that's coming, but he doesn't hesitate. He doesn't stop to think and have doubts. He commands his men, he commmands Eomer and Grimbold to lead their flanks and also Gamling to follow him from the center and all 3 do not hesitate either. No one does, they stand their ground. This could be the end of it all, they all know it but no one backs down or turns back. True courage and bravery shown in this moment, which is why its so epic. Add an amazing score to go alongside all of that, an amazing speech by king Theoden and incredible cinematography and you have possibily the best cinematic moment in cinema history.
God damn, This is hands down my favorite scene in the trilogy. The tens of thousands of seemingly unshakeble orcs, the few thousand desperately brave and determind Rohirrim, Theodens speech, the Death charge, and the music wonderfully preformed by this orchestra. Goosebumps and chills down my spine with every chant "DEATH!", almost coming to tears when the single violin starts the main melody during the charge. I could go on and on. What I did was embarassing
Haux1975 sure you did buddy
Why do you lie for thumbs up on RUclips? This isn't just the most unbelievable tale, but it's also so embarrassing to think people would believe this.
r/thathappened
"Courage Merry, courage for our friends" Rohan arriving at the fields of Pelennor and the speech/charge afterwards was the highlight of ROTK for me. Still get chills watching it.
The moment they stop to see the mumakhil and the horn blows, and then the charge into them and the music stops is pure magic
ох этот момент просто на века. великий фильм величайшая компания и актеры, Толкин мастер низкий всем поклон.
this is how cavalry will charge, take notes HBO.
Meh, they kinda did the same thing at Winterfell. The difference is that the undead were hidden in darkness, they outnumbered them even more and they do not rout. Lotr is my favorite movie of all time, but charging oliphants head on isn't much smarter either
@@acmaiden5236 The only thing, onlyy thing that always bothered me was how they charged the oliphants head on but that doesnt even compare to the fuck ups that GoT did with some of its battles tbh. At least the rohirrim were quick to adapt and started killing the oliphants quickly after. I guess being faced with death is a must in battle, specially when ur in front. Still, could have made that second charge smarter tho
That sweeping, awesome, bombastic, Ride of the Rohirrim song was BORN to basked in.
Still gives me goosebumps in 2020
That Transition from DEEEATH! To that lone violin playing the Roherm.... the feeling it gives is indescribable
Thanks for sharing this. Talking about rekindling love for LOTR.
Heyy i was here aswell back in 2016! It was absolutely the best scene in cinema history
You have no idea how much this makes me smile. I wish I could have seen it.
There is no better experience than watching this Trilogy for the First Time.
Or the Second Time...
Or the Hundredth Time...
Or...
Marmik Saini im literally in the middle of my 52nd middle earth binge
watched this scene thousand times and still feels like the first.
Simply the best three films.
Two my favourite battle beginning scenes with that from Two towers, when Gandalf brings Eomer to the Helm`s deep. Ooooh my god.
I wish I could erase my memory of these movies so I could watch them all over again for the first time.
MEMORIES!!!! Theoden is a legend
Will there ever be a scene that could stand against this one?
I doubt it. 16 years after I first watched it and still just as amazing.
RUclips just recommended this video to me because I've been diving back into the lotr ost lately and I actually went to this concert in Antwerp as well. I can't believe it's been 4 years already. Now I'm just sitting here feeling very nostalgic and remembering the fond memories of experiencing the score being played live and reacting to the movie along with a whole arena full of other fans. I'd almost forgotten about that experience but this brings it all back. Thank you for uploading this!
Before I die, I will go to a Return of the King concert.
Best escene of history
I couldn't help myself ... My desire to scream at the top of my lungs "DEATH !!!" IT IS ALWAYS UNCONTROLLABLE
this is legit perfect omg. legit chills.
Crj. No entiendo ni mierda el ingles pero sé de memoria el guion de esa escena, pvta como salen las lagrimas cuando veo algo singularmente épico
Que rey por Dios que REY (DEEEEEAAAATH)
Bravo tu!
I could watch these movies again and again and it would be as good as the last except from the first time i watched it i love Tolkiens middle earth he was such a brilliant man to make this world.
I would pay a lot of money for such an experience
