I remember that, at the beginning of 2019, Floor timidly asked us if we would follow her route in the TV show "Beste Zangers" in the Netherlands, where she had been invited to participate - you reacted to "Shallow" in this TV show. The response from fans around the world was positive, and we all got together to watch the 8 episodes of the TV show that aired weekly in the Netherlands in the fall of 2019, with the help of local fans who recorded / translated / posted all episodes online, for the rest of us... The same thing is happening these days with the similar show "Sing Meinen Song" from Germany, where Floor was invited again. How do we fans feel? First of all, pride, because Floor surpassed herself, approaching various musical genres with an ease that amazed even us, who already knew her potential. As a direct result, the Dutch public offered her the chance to make herself known in her home-country and start this solo career. Then came the pandemic, in which Floor did a series of covers from her home studio, which she released online (you'll find them on her YT page), then this spring she released her first 2 solo songs, "Fire" on March 25th and "Storm" on May 27th. From what I understand from the few recent interviews, Floor set out to compose / record solo songs throughout this year, and in 2023 to put them together in her first solo album. As for the style approached - the idea is not to be metal or rock, because she has already done and is doing this in her past projects (After Forever, Revamp, Northward) and current in Nightwish. Let me take a moment to thank you and the rest of the Army of today and those that have passed. It is you all that have carried a burden that has allowed a massive flowering. I worked with many bands in the late 70s and those who sustained the most joy were those with the most loyal and supportive fans. All of the band members past and present have gained a tremendous amount of strength from that support, especially as it is such a kind and joyful group.
It's funny when all the women who go to those singing shows like x-factor etc say they wanna be like Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston. Too bad they don't know the Real Queen :)
What's interesting is that the opening shot with Floor seated at the makeup table. She is wearing a very similar top to the one she was wearing when she performed her first show on October 2012 in Seattle with Nightwish. Her hair is pulled back the same way and her makeup looks similar. Only the earrings are different (bigger). She was just coming back from a burnout and had 48 hours to fly from the Netherlands to Seattle while learning 15 songs, most of them she had never heard before. This song could very well represent her emergence from that burnout and her bursting back on stage with a vengeance in a span of just 48 hours.
@@StrateleStudios There's a lot of symbolism in the videos of her two solo songs. Her laying in the boat reminded me of how Nordic peoples sent off their important dead in a boat, either by floating it away as a funeral pyre or by burying the entire boat with the body laid in it. She went from career death, she couldn't work for 18 months, to a Phoenix-like return (floating over the crowd).
Beautiful self-empowerment message, this lady never fails to give me chills and make me emotional, she is a force of nature, I felt her like Mother Gaia, mother earth herself speaking to us, her humble admirers
Not the type of music that i would usually listen to - but in Floor's case i'll make an exception and will buy the album when released. Her voice is something else and it's actually like a drug for me , i have to hear it every day.
I would have said `not the type of music I would usually listen to' in the past. However, since past year I have to say the type of music I listen to is Floor. In my mind she is a music genre.
You are so right, it IS like a drug we just crave every day...! I've never looked or thought about it like that, but heck yeah, being addicted to a voice (and what a voice!) with ya!
I agree wholeheartedly. 100%. Floor is my drug as well. I can't go a day without her vocals, it would be impossible. She is like a mega dose of daily vitamins in everything she sings. All her songs done most recently on Sing Meinen Song, sung in German are just as mesmerizing. Regardless of the language she sings, the same level of drug she produces is consistently there and I long to hear these songs/covers, all of it...

I didn’t even know who she was until you reacted to her before. That song was amazing. I am now I big fan of hers. What a dynamic voice. I honestly love this music more than with Nightwish. She can sing anything. I am blown away by this song and her voice. I hope she sings more music in this genre what ever the term associated with this style. That was beautiful and powerful! I absolutely loved it. Thanks for bringing that to us. You are on a super hot streak brother! I am hooked on her!!! Wow
I was unsure about Storm on the first few listenings, then it hit like a hurricane and this song makes sense. The songs worth listening to that stay with you are not always immediate, they grow and grow with you once you find the songs meaning to yourself.
i absolutely love anything FLOOR does because no matter what it is she makes me feel something that i thought died years ago in me and for that she will always be a GODDESS to me.love your reactions
One of her own babies 👍👍 Floating in a dream like that is sometimes explained that you "feel" you don't have reached your full potential yet. Well my 2 cents for another's two cents.
I don’t listen to anything from this genre but I like to see how Floor puts her spin on it and how she will show many other performers in this genre who she is & how to sing without auto tune.
Her solo stuff has just kicked off. This is the 2nd release which is leading to a full record to be done sometime in early to mid 2023. Her 1st release was a couple months back, "Fire". It was a celebration of coming out of the lockdowns from the last 2 years. I am mainly a hard rock/ metal fan. However, I still love prog, 60's pop rock and Motown. As well as classical, blues, and some more deep musical stuff. I am so enamored by tis woman and her incredible vocal talent and tonality. I cannot help but love this new solo stuff. As long as she keeps it dramatic and emotionally powerful with great lyrical content, I am SOLD! After all, Floor is the Queen! 👑👑💎💎💖💖 Hope to see you again very soon! Many more songs to experience, both Floor and Nightwish with Floor.

Whether with After forever, ReVamp, Northward, Nightwish, Solo, all her collaborations with other artists and bands. Whatever style or language she sings it really does not matter. As Henk Poort said "good music is good music."
Floor has made it clear Nightwish is always first, and she is a metal head at heart. She sings and a smile comes to my face, no matter the song or genre. Just an amazing person, and her voice is perfection to me. She can, will, and has sang the telephone book amazingly.

Just a few days ago Floor did something, that only She can do as an Valkyrie Goddesds ...She dedicated "Storm" together with the Orchestra of the Royal Netherlands Air Force to Talitha Born, an army veteran in Dutch Television show "Ode Aan Onze Veteranen". Floor Jansen Ladies and Gentlemen.... Nuff Said !!!!! 🤘😎🤘.
Glad that you are enjoying the Nightwish/Floor Jansen journey. She sings a lot of songs written for the two previous Nightwish singers and has made them her own. Something that she has also done with her several covers. She wrote and performed songs with her previous bands, After Forever and ReVamp, plus another project band, Northward. She has also guested with other bands, Delain, Soilwork and Evergrey to name a few. Plus has worked with Arjen Anthony Lucassen on his Ayreon and Star One projects. Well worth visiting her RUclips channel.
Thanks, Jeff. My admiration for Floor goes beyond words. Her masterful voice control can access so many colours and emotional nuances. Truly a virtuoso.
Floor has this ability to captivate a person her emotions in her music pulls you in. So no matter what the genre she does your already there awaiting what's next. Her versatility makes her unique and we are at awe. She deserves a shot in the lime light and don't get me wrong so does Nightwish but we still live in a bias world with the big recording studios and brands choosing Pop music over everything else. But wherever Floor goes so does Nightwish so if Floor makes it and still remains loyal to Nightwish they too one day will become more known in this Pop environment.

Dead boys poem in Buenos Aires with Nightwish she starts soft and build it up till the end very, very powerful When you compare that with here solo's Fire and Storm you reconnais the layers and building up Greetings from the Netherlands
This single (and the first single, 'Fire') both work for me. In fact, there's a recording of 'Fire' live in a small venue and it gives me chills, too. I'm thinking the full album will be winner. If I had to guess, I'd say it'll get a lot of play in the US.
COVID must have been horrible for Floor. She was riding a wave, and it fell out from under her. She got back up, though. I love this projection of strength in her new songs.
@@Calumetto No. Nobody got to perform. Every artist suffered. Floor herself stated that she still was grateful because it gave her a chance to work at her own brand. Beste Zangers and her RUclips channel along with thousands of new Nightwish fans due to reactions has made Floor Jansen a household name. Before covid she was unknown in her native Holland. Now she is one of the biggest stars.
@@korvkioskshelvete I don't understand your need to counter what I wrote if, as you say, "Every artist suffered." Why the necessity of such push-back on a simple comment?
@@Calumetto You don't understand my point. I'm not arguing with you. COVID was terrible for Floor. But without the pandemic, this song wouldn't exist. She entered Beste Zangers because all Nightwish gigs were cancelled. Her solo career exists because she had the time to focus on it. When the pandemic started, Floor was the singer of Nightwish. When the pandemic ended, Nightwish was Floors band.
This Floors Solo material is and should be Mainstream quality in music, singing and the videos - I do gasp for air of astonishment, if these would not be receiving a lot of Attention from the Mainstream music producers and record companies even in the USA. Floor needs one break in the radios in USA and she explodes the market, now who would be the one to give that break..??!!
If only talent and mastery of her instrument were the bar to reach. Unfortunately it's not about her in the biz but who's making money off her. Just spread the word will help more than anything.
I really like her choices because she knows her voice very well and what suits her. I'd like to see more diversity when the album drops. Being a rock and metal fan, I'd be happy if a hint of those elements remained in her 'pop' sound. So far, there is not a sense of blandness creeping in. This can be an issue with the modern pop scene: lack of dynamics, effect over sincerity, lack of actual writing. She has avoided this. Beste Zangers and her lockdown covers provided a training ground for what she can do and how she sounded away from her metal background. I'd just like her to keep at least one toe on the metal line. But equally, I am absorbed by what she does, her monumental talent, and I fully support the choices she makes. She has exacting standards, so I don't expect to see any bad song choices. I just can't wait for the next instalment of that beautiful voice in my ears.
It has absolutely no sense to her doing any metal as a solo, because she's already a lead singer for the Nightwish, which have the the best possible symphonic metal songwriter. No way! Her solo stuff could maybe called as a "power pop", but hey, let us call it just "Floor". 😆👍
some notes/comments: 1. Helsinki is the home of the "Finnvox Studios". A big recording complex with 8 separate studios. A lot of the big european metal bands recorded here, also Nighwish. I don´t know it exactly, but it can be recorded there. 2. To Nightwish: You reacted to very good Nightwish songs. But they were not written for Floor in respect to her singing capabilities. The first Nightwish recordings with Floor as the main singer was "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" and "Human.||.Nature". Here you can recognize were the Band with thier composing brain Toumas stands today. The last track of "Endless Forms" is the 24 minute piece "The Greatest Show on Earth". This piece is about the evoulution from the beginning of the universe to the appearance of Mankind. It ends with the phrase "We (the humans) are here". This theme was picked up in the two disk recording "Human.||.Nature". On the "Human" side, Nightwish explores some facets of human culture. In my mind the published Video " Noise" is not the best piece of this side. Hear in which way the "Music" begins from an simple hum to the todays composings, go with the the "Tribal" drums or follow the question "How´s the heart". The second side is a symphonic instumental piece and is a musical description of facets of nature. (a link to a superbly made fan video of this side: ruclips.net/video/RnOdQ5WNZJk/видео.html). In short: Nighwish delivers in "Human || Nature" some pieces for the fans, but mostly set sails to some new musical continents.
katy perry wishes she wrote this song and im sure there are quite a few folks thinking and saying that when they hear her and those lyrics is this is such an insprirational song im a 45 yr old straight man and im tearing up you know there are a few rock and metal singers out there that can successfully go with their music in any genre like everything they touch turns to gold or is divinely inspired either way i dig it
Just thought I'd stop by and drop this off, an interview of Floor, that reveals perhaps a side of her you might not be aware of. ruclips.net/video/5t1mz49-Suo/видео.html I certainly wasn't aware of such an intimate access to her backstory. Very touching and raises my esteem for her even more.
Your honesty is appreciated. It's the way I feel about Dimash. The only thing I've ever enjoyed by him was from several years ago, SOS, and a lot of that had to do with the emotional musical hooks created by the composer. That's not dissing on his vocal mastery - he's very talented. I find Floor more accessible for my musical tastes.

Actually I think it is way better then the main stream stuff that is out there. Peace
If only talent and mastery of her instrument were the bar to reach. Unfortunately it's not about her in the biz but who's making money off her. Just spread the word will help more than anything.
Floor is always in my pocket 😊.
👏👏👏
Hey I also want to say I love in the introduction to your videos you do it with the music that we are about to hear! Love that!
You catch all my little nuances, my friend! 😊😊😊💙
@@StrateleStudios Huge fan of yours! You bring the good stuff. Details my friend. It’s in the details.lol
@@TheOneSoulMate_ thank you so much brother🤝
I would so much have loved to hear her singing the final "thunder" with her metal growl...
If you see the VOX live...it sounds stronger at the end. Amazing performance...you should check it out.
@@Raziel21K Might be, but I guess it's not the "death growl" she does in the Nightwish song "Yours is an empty hope". I try to check that out anyway.
@@Raziel21K Couldn't find it. Do you have a link?
Less than 2 minutes in and I can already tell this is gonna be epic - like it’s gonna bust out shamelessly! 😂
2:50 - there’s a *taster*. This song is all about growth, right? 🤔
A jewel for humanity
I just can't wait for the next instalment of that beautiful voice in my ears.
even your eyes smile
☺️☺️☺️
Good one.
🎵🎵👍🇳🇱👍🎵🎵💕
As for the style of music. as "uncle" Henk said: Good music is good music.
😃😃😃
It has absolutely no sense to her doing any metal as a solo, because she's already a lead singer for the Nightwish, which have the the best possible symphonic metal songwriter. No way!
Her solo stuff could maybe called as a "power pop", but hey, let us call it just "Floor". 😆👍
some notes/comments:
In short: Nighwish delivers in "Human || Nature" some pieces for the fans, but mostly set sails to some new musical continents.
katy perry wishes she wrote this song and im sure there are quite a few folks thinking and saying that when they hear her and those lyrics is this is such an insprirational song im a 45 yr old straight man and im tearing up you know there are a few rock and metal singers out there that can successfully go with their music in any genre like everything they touch turns to gold or is divinely inspired either way i dig it
Have you seen any of her solo shows from Amsterdam? She said they all sold out at the time!
Oh ya I started watching this yesterday….I’m about mid way through. Sad to hear she was bullied 😔
Can i suggest sms Floor Jansen from Sing Meinen Song ..
🤗🍒👍🏻
Suggest Fire by Floor
I hope Floor has a lot of success with her solo stuff. It is not for me though
@@bertjones3010 I'm with you on Dimash, just not compelling to me...though Floor certainly is.
'Katy Perry' but a far more mature sound.
Katy Perry? She can't Roar like Floor!
