- For a while ive been having some issues with the monitor making a bit of a surging sound and especially during gameplay it would do so which made me want to check the monitor out. On my MVS-U4 I had the same issue which was related to severely cracked solder joints so I wanted to check this one out.
At some point in the future I will be putting new caps in it as sometimes you can have power fluctuations with bad caps and they can be severely affected by cold air which is one way to find faulty components using something like "Freeze Mist" etc.
Off the cuff as usual, some parts of the video may contain points where I draw a blank, something may fall, you may hear the sound of the tv, etc. Keep in mind that these things do happen but are not intentional. Игры
Nice to see the old gonbes 8200 scaler boards still getting some use in your setup back there.
Thanks for the look inside the old Super Neo 29. It's not something you get to see everyday over here in the States. I really would love own an MVS-U4, but finding one here is like finding a Unicorn. Anyway thanks for the video like always.
great video..I look forward to every new video you make ,,thank you i have learned so much from you..
Currently in the middle of recapping and reflowing the entirety of a Sony PVM. Not hard at all but damn is it tedious. I doubt it will fix it's issues but it's worth trying before the thing gets dropped off at the dump. Halfway done and no end in sight!
Hi Luke, it would be cool to see you restoring the plastic bezel. Showing the process using retro brite, i think it would turn out pretty good.
That was some crusty solder points for sure. Sometimes the solder points are so bad you're amazing the thing is working at all.
great work luke, like always:) at the beginning i was a little afraid you didn´t become a shock while disassemble the monitor, but it still now work all fine.
Looks awsome...and left & right channel soundzzzzzz fantastic...what a perfect way too spend a Saturday! ;)
Awesome work man, and great selection of carts you currently have going in the 6-slot! I need to play some Big Tournament Golf again soon here as well. It's been way too long, and I love that game so much.
Luke you should get a stand for the camera when you do things that are hard to do with one hand.
Once again Luke another 5 star video.Kudos.I have a problem with my PsOne.I've allready modded it to also play copies but I have this issue where when it is cold,I have to turn it on with a music cd to play for at least 5 minutes. Then I put my game in and it will work.Otherwise it will show me a text telling me to insert a playstation disc.It does the same thing either with a copy or a original disc.Greetings from Greece.
Nice!
I will get up the courage to service my arcade monitor at some stage, it has some bleeding etc which changes once it warms up a bit. Works for the time being anyway.
look up something called retr0bright to whiten the bezel. works a treat
BONUS !!!!!!!!!
Is it possible to do a video on how to take the front monitor cover off a Super Neo 29? I'm unsure of taking mine off without damaging it. Thanks!
so early that video is still under process. HD is not available at the moment.
Hello,
I have around 15 Super neo type 2 and all of them have Hyper pcb inside do, i tried to do the mvs jamma but i have no idea how it work,
do you have any idea how to change hyper to jamma ?
should try retrobright to remove the yellowing from your bezel they use this compound to remove the yellowing from old consoles like the nes look it up on google you can make the stuff yourself.
This was normal when is video still under process. At the time video was only in 480p. But i can´t watch in HD anyway. My netbook don´t have HD capabilities. But for emulators like MAME is great.
It looks like you're trying to defuse a bomb
Off topic but, are you daisy chaining those extension blocks for all your systems? Aren't you worried about overloading the outlets? Just curious.
one of my life goals is to have a japanese candy cab in my house, any kind really, maybe the vewlix since that seems to be the go to for fighting games...id like to have it where i can just run mame on it or something. i dunno something about the candy cab just looks so much more appealing than our boring cabs here in the US, candy cabs SCREAM fun and playful to me lol plus i like fighting games sitting down. is it true they play back to back for fighting games there rather than side to side?
Great video like always! My mvs-u4 has suddenly been having a loud surging/cracking noise. I checked inside while turning it on and there was an arch coming from the transformer.. Do you think I need to replace it or could some re-solder possibly fix this? it
Hey Luke, what is solder?
Solders are like army men
Also, said this before but man you have balls playing with crts. Major don't try this at home.
nice luke, chassic repair are allways a bitch, hahaha
