Looks like cost cutting. Read recent reviews of flights between Australia and Singapore SQ just offer one meal only (approx 8 hr flight). Sad to see this decline.

Couldn’t agree more! They are definitely going the wrong way! European airlines on the other hand seems to be improving though

I'll be flying to BKK next week on Singapore Airlines and I paid about SGD33 to "upgrade' to the Premium Economy seat. But it was stated quite clearly that the food served will be the same as Economy Class. But I think I will appreciate the additional seat room as I'm quite a stocky guy.

Yep! It’s basically just a hard product upgrade. The food is still coming from the galley at the back..but tell me how you find the food..it looked really sad to me!
      Have a safe flight!

I’ll be flying Singapore Airlines U.S. to Singapore to Bangkok in economy and back in 3 months. Good information about paying 1,300 baht to use the Thai airlines lounge at BKK. I’ll probably try the Singapore Sling on my first segment and if it’s also watered down switch to beer for the other 3 segments. If either of the trans pacific segments offer upgrades to premium economy close to the price that you paid, I’ll gladly take it. I can tolerate economy on a 2 hour flight. Thanks for the recent review

I highly doubt it haha! But do tell me if you get that super deal on premium economy

I paid less than 1,100 usd for premium economy for NY-Sing-BKK for mid August.

There was a guy a week ago that wasn't so happy about the water service as well. He was a bit loud and ended up in a cell.

I hate the fact SQ is getting cheap by taking away the special menus and SQ meals in boxes. I heard any flight less than 4 hrs will have these wtf... I rather fly EVA to Taipei 4 hr flight and costs less and just as good service. It's sad SQ has changed so much for the worse over the years. Cost cutting yes we need to at times but really someone needs to raise hell or just don't bother. I rather fly Thai EVA or Korean anytime!

agree. for short flights of less than 2 hours i can understnad. But for 3 to 4 hours, SQ should serve a proper full tray of meal that reflects their premium pricing.

This is a very short flight dear. The crews had to serve the meals from Premium Economy to Economy throughout the flight. You could ask for more drinks when they served you.
Remember this is a turnaround flight. You mentioned a total of 11 crews on-board. So maybe there were 6 to 7 at J Class and left with 5 to 4 in Y class serving 200+ passengers, just imagined the 400+ requests for 4 to 5 crews on their return flight home...

Only one bowl of water was allowed . no second glass. I don't know why? Otherwise food quality and quantity was good. Nice service, Much better then other flights. Seats were quite comfortable.
