In fact, I actually listened to this ost before playing any dark souls game, so I spent the entire trilogy and bloodborne looking forward to fighting him. I was NOT dissapointed.
I believe Slave Knight Gael, Isshin the Sword Saint and Ludwig the Holy Blade are where the boss design philosophy peaked and even Elden Ring's best fights just feel like they were scratching their heads in a boardroom trying way too hard to come up with ways to top them.
That descending melody that you can barely make out in the background during the 4:54 climax really shows how Gael is slowly losing himself to both the fight with us outside and the sheer strength of the dark soul inside. His body is collapsing and his soul is dying.
I know Eldenring is beautiful and magnificent, both from the magic enemies throw at us and the effects that look grand and powerful, but in terms of 1v1 deadly combat, This is the best.

hand over your dark soul
I will never forget my solo fight against him. Took me an ungodly amount of tries, but I never felt happier with a boss than with him. He is Fromsoft's best boss.
In fact, I actually listened to this ost before playing any dark souls game, so I spent the entire trilogy and bloodborne looking forward to fighting him. I was NOT dissapointed.

Ikr, every time gives me shivers up my spine
Hawk Tuah Respect 👍🏽 :v
I believe Slave Knight Gael, Isshin the Sword Saint and Ludwig the Holy Blade are where the boss design philosophy peaked and even Elden Ring's best fights just feel like they were scratching their heads in a boardroom trying way too hard to come up with ways to top them.
Is that even an opinion anymore at this point
@@upsideproductions2 Not really but I'm sure someone out there whose first souls game was Elden Ring will do mental gymnastics to deny it
@@youngkappakhan lol, that’s extremely true sadly.
Inner Isshin is the best boss fight of all time to be honest I don’t think it’s possible to top it
Messmer is up there though

🙏 thank you
1:59 got me like 😮
That descending melody that you can barely make out in the background during the 4:54 climax really shows how Gael is slowly losing himself to both the fight with us outside and the sheer strength of the dark soul inside. His body is collapsing and his soul is dying.
Best seconds in the whole track
I know Eldenring is beautiful and magnificent, both from the magic enemies throw at us and the effects that look grand and powerful,
but in terms of 1v1 deadly combat,
This is the best.
Ah yes, Dark Souls III. When the DLC's final boss wasn't super disappointing.
the only disappointing Dark souls DLC final boss I can think of is Sinh, and that's really it
Incorrect. Elden Ring DLC final boss rules
Hand it over. That thing your doubts about this dlc and ds as a series in general
How the hell are there people saying that Messmer, Radahn or Maliketh compare to this boss? None of them come even close to him in terms of OST, battle setting, lore, or anything whatsoever.
Messmer, Radahn and Maliketh are all great bosses.
Gael is simply superior.
Margit is better than gael, those you typed are leagues above him.
Literally every boss listed is superior to Gael in the most important aspect of any fight that being the gameplay

Hey man he did it for his NIECE don’t call him a simp that’s weird
@@soundandfury9641 Uncle Gael is thus based
@@soundandfury9641 she isn't his niece its just a mistranslation error, in japanese painting lady refers to gael in a word that just is to refer to a friendly old man but it gets mistranslated to uncle in english
@@creeperYT9824 it's still uncle. Like how sterotypical texans call people "son". And she's also a child(at least looks like one), so it makes sense to call the old man Uncle Gael.

The most epic slice of toast I’ve ever eaten
FS wont make a boss better than gael in the future
Laughing at all the fools saying Radahn is better, Gael will never be topped
@@TheRealSkulldozerpersonally i think messmer rivals its
Its just not possible. The atmosphere, the location (end of time where everything has crumbled to dust), the lore (last two humans who remained fighting for the dark soul)... the absolute melancholic and bittersweet ending to grant the ashen one rest in a cold gentle place of a painting. It cant be topped
I think it’s hard to reach the same level in terms of atmosphere and build up but I would say both sekiro and elden ring have multiple bosses that surpass gael on a pure mechanical level. And this is coming from someone who probably has gael at number 2 or 3
Gael is the peak coming of Dark Souls lore, with a moveset that fits him perfectly and a camera that tracks him perfectly, as long as they keep try sneaking in 10 second combos that make no sense or camera fuckeries in future bosses he will always clear them
3:20 - 4:00 is the best thing I've ever heard. Yeah, I know, there is Ludwig Holy Blade, The First Hunter etc., but NOTHING IN MY 17 YEARS OF LIVING ON THIS PLANET has gave me goosebumps so many times

Best Bosses
Best OSTS
Best Fanservice, bringing back old amor sets and scenarios
Best Waifu the Firekeeper
And the best fucking boss for game ending Soul of Cinder and also Gael!

Gael was the final boss of the final DLC of the final Dark Souls game. Basically, the Dark Souls experience culminates with this guy.
Ornstein and Smough, Ishinn, Messmer, and Gael are the peaks of their respective games. Havent played BB yet because i dont have playstation.
I don’t wanna say BB is worth spending that kind of money for a PS5, but I Don’t see a possible port in the future my guy.
