I wonder why no one here is complaining about the fact that Shinji is being removed right after you get him in the game. Dont get me wrong i think story wise this scene was greatly presented to us very impactful and emotional good and anti cliche to kill of a somewhat main character. But poorly designed gameplay wise. Shinji is the last character joining the bunch having to play 20+ hours at least to get him to join back, his impact in the accomplishments of the main crew are basically none and after around 1-2 hours of playtime with him he is taken away from me. If he was one of the first ones to join this death wouldnt have bothered me, if he was able to put in your team postgame no problem either, if there was a way to save him like in FES (never played it but i heard he was) thats fine too. But deciding to make him join right before his death is poor decision making especially because his impact in rejoining was almost not existent he was brought back just to be killed off. Besided Ken he was the character i looked forward to the most to have in my team, such a pitty that devs keep having bad ideas.
I don't think it's bad at all. It's supposed to be unexpected for the most part and this game doubles down on him being really strong by giving him those new passive skills. He is only able to help you with 1 moon boss and then whatever amount of Tartarus you have at the time then he's gone. So for gameplay it might be a shame he's only available for a short duration but that just goes hand in hand with the story elements surrounding him. I know in Portable you could use him for those monad doors as they were accessible in the lobby from the start. Haven't beaten reloaded yet so not sure if they added something like that in NG+
What's more is that shinji's role as a physical attacker with the strike attack type is sorely needed even after he dies. Idk man I just wanted his kit to be taken up by someone else
why is the dialogue so much weaker in the remake? it's like they got paid to slightly change all the wording and it's so much worse :/ also shinji died on his feet in OG, way more in character. what is going on here? it's like the direction got all messed up.
The dialogue in Reload is actually closer to JP version script, it was the og that has tweaks here and there. I personally find two versions hit just as hard tho.
In a way, I agree that the OG walk off death was way cooler, but it is fitting for Shinji to die in Akihiko's arms. Also love that he got one last Koromaru pet in before kicking the bucket.
Ken's VA killed the mood with that cry. It starts out sounding so gutteral and turns into a goofy ass cry. They did a much better job in selling it in the original audio.

@@Osiris2994 it's a similar deal. healing spells help with cuts and bruises, not so much with two gunshot wounds
@@twiilit_ You mean to tell me the shadows, the creatures that are capable of killing people, can only inflict light cuts and bruises? My point is, why did nobody try?
@@Osiris2994 evidently so. Actual gun did more damage then we ever see a Shadow do. There also might be a difference when you are in active battle mode with your Persona ready, Shinji was ready to die to Ken here anyway and so wasn't ready to fight. As for why they didn't try thats just the power of the JRPG cutscene. Its been that way for decades now, you can have all the Revives, Phoenix Downs, or whatever else you want, but when the cutscene gods decides its time for a character to die thats just how it goes.
Bro made it even worse for the players to handle 😭😭😭😭
the hood lost a real one today (quite literally)
The added Koromaru is what killed me
I thought Strega kill Shinjiro for no reason
But I just found out that Shinjiro kill a nurse by accident in Dark Hour while he went berserk. That nurse is a girl who save Jin's childhood friend (a Persona user with no-name weak Persona). So that Strega were asked to revenge Shinjiro
(That nurse could be Ken's mother)
It doesn't excuse what Takaya did though.
Also, I doubt any member of Strega is old enough to have been childhood friends with someone who had an eleven-year-old son. Have a little common sense.
Best emotional scene ever
So this is how they balanced him in game
Unfortunately the power of the fuck word wasn't powerful enough to protect him.
.......H-Happy birthday Nanako
Where do you get those uniform? In the game after some times or the dlc?
After Fukka joins
What caliber was that revolver for it to 2 tap the 2nd strongest guy on the team 💀
Man, they killed Shinji off.
Again......
good. I didn't particularly care for the character considering he was another phys dps character. better stick to junpei
@BloodyHowl69 heartless fools like you don't deserve to comment
Hopefully the femc gets added so he gets a chance
His death is one of the best moments in the game, it would kinda be cheap if they got rid of it
@@BloodyHowl69 Gonna be honest, shinji was better than junpei skill wise during the time he was present. He always did crazy damage and got hella crits. Just my opinion tho
How did you get the lip syncing in the cutscenes? Every other video I've seen doesn't have it.
nooo they killed shimki :(
its a canon event
Did you see that Shinji
@@athrunmoza8996 did you see that shimki
Am I mistaken for wondering why they didn't use diarahan? Or does that not work on bullet wounds
It's similar to how the modern Final Fantasies rule it: the healing spells reinvigorate the body and revival the unconscious, not the dying or deceased.
Diarahan wasn't healing a golf-ball-sized hole
@superninja_youtube so, severe burns, frost bite, blunt force trauma, pierce damage and being smited by a thunder bolt from god?
@@terrorbillywilly7918 Either Takaya's bullets are very special, or it's a situation where the Personas help them resist whatever Shadows throws at them to a certain point. I can't imagine Diarahah regrowing an arm or an eye, or a hole in your chest.
@KoroCB you might be half right there. We never know if it's the user that's taking the damage head on or their persona jumping in front of them at the last minute
No recarm? 😔
I really that some dlc update helps him become a permanent party member like in P3P.
He wasnt a permanent party member in p3p
@@Riftdancer527 You could use him in extra challenges
I wanted to play it but they messed up the SEA version 😢
What’s the difference for the sea version?
@@Riolu1209 they shipped out a version that was actually in Mandarin. Not everyone in SEA speaks Mandarin, of course, so they messed up big time
this is beside the point, but i was expecting ken to be shorter than this.
Koromaru made this scene a lot more depressing…😢
call it a slaughter because he was the GOAT
I got here trying to draw
So.. i cant save him? (I don't know the game, i ve started it last week)
no.
Shinjis death is unpreventable :
Yeah it’s unavailable he dies no matter what the only version of the game where he lives is in persona 3 portable where if you play as a girl and romance him he gets saved by a watch or something and is put in a coma till the end of the game
My man got spoiled on one of the biggest moments in the game
Man you should not watch this first, this is one of iconic moments in P3
Hopefully you didn't spoiled yourself further with the rest
This scene destroyed me emotionally. I’ve played through every iteration of P3 and watched the movies. This scene never gets easier to watch. And the acting here was really good too.
Went back and watched this in the og, my goodness the voice acting in the og P3 is kinda cheeks. This is so much better I’m in awe that there are people who say p3 voices are better.
Thank god they fixed the voice acting
Bro.😂
THIS IS WHY WE NEED FEMALE MC 😭
why do you do this dism at least wait a few days
koromaru howling is so cringe and ruins the scene, couldn't let ken have his moment
PLEASE ATLUS LEMME PLAY FEMC SO I CAN SAVE MY BISEXUAL EMO BOY
Ken: I was gonna kill myself but I couldnt face my mother if i did
Also Ken: so anyways, after i kill you i was gonna kill myself
I always interpreted it as him not being able to face her if he left her death unavenged.
He couldn't face her if he died without holding the one who killed her responsible.
why is the dialogue so much weaker in the remake?
it's like they got paid to slightly change all the wording and it's so much worse :/
also shinji died on his feet in OG, way more in character.
what is going on here? it's like the direction got all messed up.
The localization i guess? The Japanese dialogue are still same as original just have few more word
It's based off the P3 Movies which changed some stuff.
"Weaker" bro this is the only version i can give a shit about Ken and take him seriously 🤣
They did a much better job in selling it in the original audio.
buhuu go cry about it
@@gamerbeast3616 free speech and it's consequences
@@gamerbeast3616 Cry about what? You being toxic?
While this scene is still sad as fuck. The fact that its an fmv instead of an anime cutscene reduces the impact of it alot for me. They'll animate yukari taking a shower or the girls in swimsuits but not this ? Ok sure atlus
Man the anime cutscenes aren’t really that great to begin with so I was very fine with this.
I think the fact you need the scene to be animated to have an impact speaks more about you than anything else, the scene was done beautifully in this version, it didn't need to be 2D to be incredible
Yeah I completed disagree, honestly I don’t think the anime short sequences really add anything to the game. This cut scene is much better and keep in with the games tone.
