I've had bad experiences trying to tighten tension and loosing the screw I've order another bobbin but is there anything I can use meantime

My guess would be that you are not handling it correctly and/or you are not getting it properly set back in the machine.
Also, there could be damage in the hole where it is to be seated or trash.
Get a very good light and a magnifier and Check it.
