Just done mine. Not even five minutes. I only had to unclip the glovebox. No screws to take out and the cover just popped off. Cheers for the video. It made the job a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. The hardest thing to do was work out if the airflow arrows point up or down.........THEY POINT DOWN!!! :) ****2003, 2.5 RHD Xtrail****
I like your cat and thanks for this video. Unfortunately the AC in our X trail is horrible. Also I have observed air leaking in the footwell even when the selector knob is only through the vents.
Is there anything there that has to do with the airbag fitting... My airbag module rattles a bit. The noise stops when I place my hand on top of it... Really distracting as there are no other noises in line other than that...

The plastic knob for temperature adjustment has been stuck in mine. Any idea how to free them up? The dealer said they will have to take apart the whole dash for that and have hence quoted an expensive price :(
Yes, with caution ! - the airbag is an explosive !. The manual I have is the workshop manual and does not go into a lot of detail on the dashboard. Are you in the UK ?, I can burn you a copy of the manual if you want (it is a collection of .pdf's with a little program that links the files). I don't think you tube will allow email addresses in the comments section otherwise I could upload to google drive & share with you.
can anyone advise where resistor is on 54plate xtrail, heaters are on all the time even when dial is turnt to off and told likely to be resistor but can't locate it. TIA
Joanne Venton, normally if the resistors are gone the fan doesnt work at all, but i am no expert. i have a service manual at home, i will take a look later and see where they are.
Do you know if you have 'Auto' air conditioning - i.e. climate control, or whether it is manual ? If the dials have 'auto' on them then it seems like it is all controlled by a mini computer. The manual system has the traditional resistor. I can send a screenshot of the manual If that helps
RUclips won't let me message you direct, or attach pics here ! you can look at my google+ profile (scruffymid) where I have put the pics.I guess your is auto (the manual has more old fashioned looking dials)
Hiloy Dins, the air that blows into the car through the vents, either onto your feet, windscreen or face etc, goes through the pollen filter to help clean the air and remove some of the pollen and other stuff in the air to make the air inside the car a bit cleaner
Hi, Have you done a video in regards to replacing the blower motor on a 2006 Nissan X-Trail? It's a manual A/C and the motor is history. I just can't find a video on how to take out the housing that holds the motor. Thank you
I did it on my 2005 X-Trail. Be warned, it is not easy! However, you do save a lot of money if you do it on your own. There are videos on RUclips if you search around. I got my new motor from Amazon.
I am not sure what difference the 2003 model is,, but an Australian forum has a few pics of both of the filter locations for the T30 & T31 models. If you go to... main.australianxtrail.com/ Then click on 'Technical' Then 'Micro Filter' The pictures won't show up unless you register, or you can log in as me username = scruffymid password = temporary Hope this helps. If not, send me a pic of you car exterior and interior and I will see if I can work out which model it is. (I will change my password to the forum back in a week or so, just don't post anything offensive in the mean time !) Obviously, the side of the car will be reversed depending on whether you have a left hand drive or not. The pics are Australian, so right hand drive - same as UK. Scruffy.

of course they do, they point TO the fan as the air flows through the filter then the fan, the guy in the vid fits his wrong.
Bloody legend mate you saved me so much swearing and spanner throwing doing the inlaws cabin filter
Thanks Scruffymid, the video will make my instal much easier. Keep up the good work!.
03:59 Nice assistant mechanic
Thank you so much, that’s a great help
The yellow cables usually are the air bag lines, maybe if you don't disconnect the battery, the air bag light will appear in the dashboard.
Best video for this easy procedure. Hard to find a video!! thanks.
Looks easy enough, I'll have a go.
Just changed pollen filter. 10 mins following the vid. Thanks
Excellent excellent video! Well done!
Great! Thank you very much.
Nice one bro. Thanks

not sure how to free them up, but if its the same model as mine, getting the switches off is easy.

I don't think so. I will see if the workshop manual has any information in it.

LMFAO I did not have to do all that...Mine had a little plastic flap that you removed to gain access to the filter. It was easy!

hi yes please if you don't mind
so you fitted the filter the wrong way according to the air flow indicators on the filter?
Markillie Manxman/Vorta erm.... I might have done !!!.
I will check the video when I get chance.
Is this same procedure on J11 Qashqai? Some videos show filter down by panel next to accelerator.
Sorry, I have never been in a Qashqai so cannot help.
Sorry the question but can you get that filter in amazon, thank you.
Yes, at least in Canada. I use a FRAM CF10140 cabin filter in my 2005 Nissan X-Trail.
is it the same as 'cabin filter' ?
Yes, I believe so
