    The Zenfone's back design is so much more unique and nicer. On the front, the Galaxy is unbeatable though.

  • @ayf449
    @ayf449 Год назад +67

    Headphone jacks are extremely useful and more companies should bring them back, honestly, they are kinda a deal breaker for me. Yes, I could get a dongle, but why should I have to if I'm already paying a ton of money anyway? Maybe if big companies are hell-bent on getting rid of them that's fine for thier "hollier than thou" flagships but It would be nice if they consider it for their midrange models or idk thier highest/lowest range of their flagships since one is all about being extra and the other is "congratulations you're barely not a peasant or this fits your needs just fine, you recognize that, and that's acceptable." (appologies I'm feeling a bit saucy today).
    It's just with the headphone jack there are less things to charge, I personally prefer wired headphones, they are easier to keep track of and hey they won't die on you unless they break or malfunction.

    I fail to see how people keep bashing on the 2 years of android updates. It's not like it will be all bad after 3 years lol. My samsung s6 I've been using for 8 years now runs on android 7 and almost all apps still work to this day.
    Most people also swap their phone for a newer one 2-3 years into its lifespan, so it won't even be a hindrance in any way.
    If you wanted to always run on the newest OS, there are for sure going to be custom ROMs available to you to increase the lifespan even further.

    • @silverwolfgecko7064
      @silverwolfgecko7064 Год назад +1

      Custom Roms do not play well with Banking apps. Big minus for me. Also security updates are the important one imo. And there the difference is 5 years for samsung and 4 years for Asus. So I'm happy about that.

    • @oscarkarlsson8220
      @oscarkarlsson8220 Год назад

      @@silverwolfgecko7064 I see nobody use their phone for more than 8 years. Moreover, banking apps will take atleast 6 years (or even more) to get to the state in which you cannot launch them from a phone released this year.
      Then sure, one could argue security updates being useful (especially for gullible people), but one year being such a dealbreaker that it makes you not want to buy the phone? Come on...

    • @ayf449
      @ayf449 Год назад +3

      Been using my phone for about 7 years now give or take the only reason I start looking for an upgrade is when my phones starts to lag or misbehave which unfortuntly it seems it is about time especially since it tends to skip alarms from time to time and most alarms are health related so I can't have that.
      So here I am looking for something I could buy next year for cheaper, honestly, I'm not very sold on Samsung S series some are starting to say that their camera has a bit of a yellowish hue or tone and I kinda see it in the photos, zenfone 10 is on my list though and I'm kinda considering the flip motorola razr 40 but not quite sure about that.. hopefully more considerable options pop up as the year comes to an end.

    • @silverwolfgecko7064
      @silverwolfgecko7064 Год назад +1

      @@oscarkarlsson8220 @oscarkarlsson8220 you missed all of my points. Custom Roms do not play well with banking apps, not old OS. This is in case someone decides to go for a custom Rom because they might still want new features. You said not more than 8 years, which seems like a random number anyway, but also does not have anything to do with the conversation. Furthermore, saying security updates is for gullible people is like saying facebook is for security minded people. It's the complete opposite. Having your phone secure is one of the most important things, because almost all of your personal life (banking, photos, apps, passwords, contacts) is on it. How on earth is a security update for gullible people?

    I was very close to buy Zenfone 9, but went for an S23. The main dealbraker was 4 years of updates vs 2 on zenfone. Overall, I'm not regretting picking s23, and still would get over Zenfone 10. Samsung is just a bit better. Yet, headphone jack and 4300 mAh battery are such a cool thing. If Asus gave us 3 years of updates, it'll be a best compact on the market, but because of not very good software support, smaller screen with non-symmetrical bezels (yet same body size), side fingerprint scanner, no telephoto, i can't see Zenfone competing with S23 (especially if we consider that Zenfone 9 was far better than S22 with Exynos), which is sad. This phone is close to be great and becoming really successful on the market

      It's just a marketing BS that they made us subconsciously adopt, but let me tell you the real reasons why the S23 is better:
      It'll get cheaper where the Zenfones usually don't.
      It has a telephoto camera.
      It has a 3.2 USB-C port with Dex support unlike the 2.0 found in the Zenfone with absolutely no video out.

If they could make an andriod with 3-4k battery capacity that would be ideal. Camera I can sacrifice for it. Think about it, why do people have those pop sockets behind their phones? I am truly troubled.
    I am attracted to the Zenphone because I can get the 512gb version for around the same price of the s23 that only carries 256gb (and of those, I only get 200gb). If micro-sd cards were still a thing I wouldn't be so troubled but I'm the only idiot that still remembers them. But the s23 cameras... they're just better, I don't know if I actually care for One Ui anymore as most of the features I use on it are already in the Zenphone (long screenshot, pop-up windows, etc). If anyone could do a review on the cameras because there is this timer and palm feature where you can take a picture on the Samsung as I use that a lot haha. I don't know.
    I will keep reading the comments to see if I can finally make a decision.

    IMHO if DEX desktop mode is available for the S23 it will probably put the choice over the top for me vs a Zenfone 10, especially if I had to carry secondary “always connected” work device, since I wouldn’t always need to fire up my laptop for “more than just a quick” email response just plug the S23 onto KVM connected USB C dock. Or for reviewing a PDF, doc or spreadsheet on a bigger screen.

    I have both the S22 and Zf9. The fingerprint reader on the Zf is MILES better than the S22 because it NEVER misses. I never need to double tap, not even when my finger is wet. On the S22, I often need to press 3 or more times to get it, and if my finger is wet, I have no hope.
    The S22 has particularly bad heat management, so the Zf9 beats it easily there as well. The S23 vs. Zf10 heat management gap might be better though.
