      @@g_mason8867 indeed. For the first time ever, I was scared for my life and that of my kids. It was more terrifying than Andrew because it stalled in the West Coast of Fl. I could hear bangs around my house for hours. Truly, terrifying.

    I've been through Hurricane Katrina thank God I was able to move back to New York horrible I don't wish this on anybody so sad Mother Nature can really kick your butt😢

    Ther wood not tied down to the foundation so yes they will float. sealed vaults in cemeteries that have a air pocket in them will come out of the ground too.

      But pushing that 3 feet is a gazillion gallons.
      Stand in the surf and the ocean pushes and pulls at you with each wave. Now picture all those forces being a huge wet blanket, swaying like the waves, not much can withstand those pressures and weight.
      A gallon of water weighs just over 8lbs.
      Lived on the beach my entire 60 years. Never turn your back to a wave.

      Fill a ten gallon aquarium and try to lift it. Water is heavy as hell. 8.8 lbs per gallon.

      I googled and found:
      In the case of the Dead Sea and Great Salt Lake, however, the water sometimes weighs as high as 75 pounds per cubic foot. The average weight for all the oceans at the average temperature of 63°.5 F is 64.0, and this is why sea water has the reputation of weighing just 64 pounds per cubic foot.
      64 pounds for a 1 foot cube of water. 75 pounds from the Dead Sea.

      @@guybeingaguy I was off a bit, was doing it from memory. Fresh water is 8.3 lbs per gallon, sea water is about 8.6 lbs per gallon. That of course is assuming there isn't a whale in it

      The water was so high it pulled it off it's foundation, and or if on stilts, the water current , aka that much water pushing ashore, undermined the stilts that held up house in the sand and collapsed, making the house fall into the water, trust me, I know, went through Ivan on Navarre Beach, , house in front of my house, WENT THROUGH my house and into the sound, goggle it

    Husband and I and our 3 children were passing threw north Carolina when we stopped to feed kids the water came so fast we didn't have time to react it took our vehicle and all the others near us with our belongings thank God for the stranger that cash app our family 500 we wish we new who it was that was how we got home it will take us months to replace our vehicle but we are thankful to be alive god bless all affected by this horrific storm

    Am I wrong to think the two that floated away look more like sheds than homes. Really small homes if they were.
    Notice that the house that was built on tall posts is not going to get any flood damage except to their elevator shaft and maybe cars(even tho the video didn't show any)

      This storm is heading north, and I'm willing to bet more lives will be lost north of Florida. Tornadoes and flash flooding in the middle of the night is a frightening thing. It's disheartening to see people laugh about this when this thing is a cat 2 hurricane in Georgia.
