This is a fair presentation video which combined of the good n bad of the car rather than just saying the good n hide up the bad. I really hope that our Malaysian consumers should raise the standard n not blindly to go for the badge without really considering the specs n the value of money, or else in the long term Malaysia will become the dumping market for all the luxury brands to dump their inferior products to us!
Hi Hafriz. Do you guys have any plan on doing a video where you do a roadtrip in Malaysia with EVs? Would love to see how it goes considering we don't really have a wide array of charging stations yet, or maybe I'm wrong. Looking forward to see such video in the future.
I agree with Hafriz. The back is futuristic & takut pleasing to look at. But the front is a mess. Removing that L-shaped chrome section might be a good idea. Love the interior design though.
Curious why the i4 is more expensive than the iX. BMW inflating their margins? Nonetheless, with our charging infrastructure the way it is, I would still go for a G30 LCI over full EVs at this point.
A second thought given after viewed this video. My booking is estiamted deliever on Oct........thinking of cancel it. Thanks Hafiz, good and balace review actually.
I felt the price elevation for ix40 is too steep for the refinement & badge. If you're to look at value for money, how would you rank ix40 vs ioniq 5 and XC40 EV?
Agreed. I would rank in the same way. Few more questions: (1) There is a joy but also a price to pay for early adapters. EV is still going thru a rapid technology growth curve. E.g. EV/Hyrid technology 5 years ago are almost obsolete and almost no 2nd hand value now. Do you think it's wise to spend like 400-600k on a state of the art EV like BMW/Taycan and do you think in 5 years time it would still be technologically relevant or just look at 200-300k like Ioniq? (2) Do you think we should wait and are there any more exciting EVs that would be launched in the next 12-18 months?
The road tax exemption lasts until 2025. Beyond that, assuming the current rates are here to stay (which I think is unlikely), the iX 40's road tax will be RM3,063 per year.
I do like the wide butt rear end. It is definitely taken from the Q5/Macan rear. I don't like the way these electric SUV has such short legs. Its like one of those short legged dogs - Corgi anyone?
If there's no number plate in front of the kidney grill, it's still not too bad.. But with the number plate there, i totally ruined and makes the looks worst
i saw one today on the road. The plate is V// 27. It looks nice at the back. But the front... if a pig visited a plastic surgeon, that is the exact nose you will get.
Underneat front bonet not to be seen by customer, only bmw treat their customer this way. Strange enough there are people like to be treated like that..
Hafriz is a good reviewer with good command of the English language. 👍🏻

When I get my own Ioniq 5 (hopefully soon!), I'll be sure to do exactly that. Stay tuned!
@@hafrizshah4937 That's awesome and I hope you get your Ioniq 5 soon!
@@hafrizshah4937 I heard that June or July already can got the car ioniq 5 for those buyers

The door closing soud is like in the proton Saga. But the way, can wait to see the CIVIC FE review from Paul Tan

As the ix doesn't have tax in Malaysia
@@hambarazzak im pretty sure i4 also dont have tax correct me if im wrong
i think its because they specced it up almost full
Hello Hafriz. You should do another review of the sports version as the quality of the fitting is way better
I really hope bmw malaysia would include air suspension in the specs to complement the serene driving experience
Hear hear
A second thought given after viewed this video. My booking is estiamted deliever on Oct........thinking of cancel it. Thanks Hafiz, good and balace review actually.
Why Hafiz Not Include Nissan Leaf,Mini Cooper EV,Hyundai Kona Electric,BMW IX3,I4,I3s and Porsche Taycan.🤔
I felt the price elevation for ix40 is too steep for the refinement & badge. If you're to look at value for money, how would you rank ix40 vs ioniq 5 and XC40 EV?
In that sense, I would place both the Ioniq 5 and XC40 Electric higher, in that order.
Xc40 is not a ground up ev

Compare BMW to Mercedes amd above. Not its lesser friends.
"No one's gonna use it btw, so why bother"
How true lol!!
excellent review! honestly brutal.
“Just 350 thousands ringgit”. I hope in the future more affordable EV cars.
can't imagine when window panel fails to wind down and someone close the door
hi, would u be doing an ionic 5 max review as well?
Can tell , why you choose Hyundai ionic 5 ,, than others ,,,thx in advance
Recycled plastics are okay provided the quality is good
I agree, but the few bits that I mentioned really stand out. In a bad way
I appreciate the specs added for the Sport model, but the base model still looks better than Sport
Wonder when will be the more affordable electric car be available? Most are sub 300k now!
good memorization of the scripts hehe
BMW had experimented 'recycle' plastics before. Result is horrible realibility after long time.
spec has been cut down compare to other Asia countries iX model
RISE OF EV
Even the 7 series has cheap plastic on the seat belt area...so it is BMW standard :p
Can this car change the exterior color by a press of a button?
More cheaper than China car, Polestar that Tun M using.
But, is it better?
So many compromise in a 350k++ car. I'm not sold at all.
BMW knows their market. BMW drivers don’t use turn signals so no point to make it nice.
How much is the road tax per year after those 2 years exemption is over?
The road tax exemption lasts until 2025. Beyond that, assuming the current rates are here to stay (which I think is unlikely), the iX 40's road tax will be RM3,063 per year.
Haha, BMW users not using turn signals. You’re funny, Hafriz.

How is the ioniq 5 so cheap compared to the competition
Try Genesis EV.
Because the brand and money currency.
i saw one today on the road. The plate is V// 27. It looks nice at the back. But the front... if a pig visited a plastic surgeon, that is the exact nose you will get.
That cockpit and screen was amazing 😱 it was the same as mercedes Benz a class
Lol was that sarcasm?
Money is everything
Automotive industry moving into supporting Climate Change action... Good to invest in greener intiative movement rather than trashing words.
The steering wheel looks up side down.
Underneat front bonet not to be seen by customer, only bmw treat their customer this way. Strange enough there are people like to be treated like that..
When will the xdrive50 and 60 come?
BMW Malaysia has mentioned the 50 will come some time this year. M60 is unlikely.
aiya… Proton X70 better lah… got Hi Proton ma… ape brg Bmw…
Since Hafriz is alone in the car, why does he need to wear the !#@$% facemask????
Just for the record, I had my videographer with me at all times.
the exterior designers of BMW should be fired
So expensive
What the Fuck 21inch?
a very ugly design frm Bmw
2nd
#1! Early!
For the specs that is cheap af
Cheap is not the right word for rm350 to rm400k per piece.
Makin tegur makin kembang plk hidung bmw ni...oic? Dh tua makin gelebeh ye tak?...bab design grill bmw kebelakang 101 tahun...
