That’s a piezoelectric disc, aka your beeper! The plastic bit attached to it is likely just a resonance/amplification bit, could just as easily be attached to the shell, though different physical mediums have different acoustic properties, so it’s likely louder with that plastic than if directly attached to the shell.
Thanks for the tear down. Hopefully with enough coverage of these things, companies that make these wheels will realize we know their dirty little secrets and build the damned things properly.
self tapping screws are more secure and are more vibration resistant and are used on parts that are meant to be left alone. metal bushings can slip or screws can vibrate loose but are better for repeat access. gotway's assembly is correct.
If it already has such a huge block of aluminium to cool the electronics, why don't we make the whole EUC out of aluminium? It's not that heavy. I think we could make a metallic chassis and screw the mosfets directly to it. Everything would be very well cooled with a huge wheel moving air to an aluminium chassis. Like a big heat sink with good specific (per unit of mass) mechanical properties. That way you don't need airflow inside the EUC and it could even be submersible.
Jesus, I’m sticking with My Kingsongs (16x S18), and my baby V5F, saving for a Sherman, and that’s it, although I love Begode’s design, I wouldn’t feel save riding on it. Thanks for the heads up.
im getting a rattle/knock at low speed or carving after a tyre change. Doesnt effect handking or anything but its disconcerting. Suggestions as to what may be lose and knocking?
hello adam I changed my tire and removed my wheel by first unplugging the battery after having pressed the on button to discharge the capacitors then the 3 yellow, blue and green motor phase cables, then the motor cable, after having reassembled everything in order by reconnecting the battery cables I have a big spark and no the little clicking sound, do you have any idea what caused that? Should I have disconnected the other battery cables behind the wheel? My wheel was at 90% battery charge!
HUGE THANKS! I saw the 1st hole on your 1st review. That 2ND HOLE THOUGH - INSANE. So lets say a perfect seal is made, still all the rocks and debris will be constantly knocking on that mosfet heatsink (and the speakers - jeeeez - 1 rock on that membrane and its bust hole into the unsealed plastic shell) - how will that affect the longevity of the mosfets (and the heat sink). This design is SOOO horrible
for all the garbage that Begode puts into their wheels they still outperform all their competitors. Its good to know what you need to do to ride safe on a Begode. Thats the price you have to pay to ride the #1 performing wheels offered today. Sherman aside of course...;'-)
Oooh, they changed from a 3 dollar cased beeper to a 50cent free floater one. Its obvious i guess....they needed the cash for the big aluminum heatsink. :-)
Nice teardown video, Adam! Advising folks to send their wheels to professionals even though a fair comment is a difficult one to actually take. There don't seem to be any service companies willing to do these bits of work. It's also a sad day when one spends north of £/€2000 and still have to make serious change to waterproof it. We should as a community just not be condoning this sort of bad behaviour from OEMs. Their wheels look enticing but Begode/Gotway need to do better. To be fair they all need to raise their game this year after the success of LeaperKim. Keep putting out great content though, Adam.
I've tried to take the shell off and, even after all the screws are taken out (yes all - including the two li'l ones above the pedal hanger) it seems like there's a blob of glue on the cover, behind the magnet, that attaches to something on the inner shell/hub. The seal this creates with the inner shell I just couldn't break...and I didn't want to risk cracking the cover by using more force. Did you have this issue? If so what did you do? Many thanks!
this is depressing truly it is n ik u said dont open your wheel n we should send to pros. But the pros send them out n all these repairs are a must A BIG MUST
I just wonder man, in the past you were riding GW Nikola in the rain. Do you plan to disasemby some older GW wheels? Nikola is stil available, could be interesting :).
The only well built Begode/Gotway wheel was and actually is the Nikola. No water or dust have entered mine after months of usage, almost 4500km and still so damn clean on the inside, even after some crashes it's got no damage at all apart from some scratches. I definitely love this wheel and probably will get the 100v version in the future (unless Veteran launches a 16 inches model which I'm sure many people is waiting for 😅)
My buddy's got probably over 15, 000 mi on his and it's been driven into a lake completely submerged water pouring out of it for the next half hour and is still here to this day and gets ridden multiple times a week!
Nice 👊 The only item that I disagree with you is your recommendation to have a professional work on your wheel. I'd like to know who these professionals are. This might me a European thing 🤔
The difference is only that if a "professional" do it and something wrong happens afterwards it'll be on him not on you unless you are doing something you shouldn't. Personally I like to do things on my own.
@@bASKOU Yeah, considering that my health depends on a single-wheeled self-balancing machine, I'd rather trust my own work rather than someone I don't know.
Jeez one ride in the rain and it's death for the EXN. Also it's ridiculous how cheap the design is for the price you pay for one of these things, like clearly aside from the powertrain there's no budget remaining for any quality on these things lol
This is actually really bad. No quality control what so ever. Just shows that they are rushing these wheels out without any thought. They need to take a leaf out of inmotions book, send wheels out to a handful of guys in the know like yourself to test then take onboard your feed back. This will ensure it will be a high quality product come post production
good design! Easy maintenance. There is no perfect wheel on the market right now, and some small things to fix/improve BEFORE the first ride are no problem at all, but then you will be rewarded with the wheel with better performance&design than the others... ;)
My god, this is pathetic. If you're going to build a performance product (especially at this price point) put some fucking pride into it, for the customers and your reputations sake, like, seriously Gotway?! (sorry...Begode...) Hopefully they take some hints from their competitors, and soon. I honestly wish them the best, but if they continue to just stick their head in the sand, I really hope they get left in the dust. Please, Inmotion/Kingsong/Veteran, continue to put out quality above all else 🤞 And actually truly listen to your customers and get/use feedback from these reviewers that know most about your products! OK rant over 😅
IMO your personal biases are really starting to show in your vids. You're definitely entitled to your opinions ofcos but what makes a good global influencer & likely what most of views want is a fair & objective review of all wheels of all makes of all models. A personal hate towards one particular make does not do much for anything except show your hate. IMO ofcos. Mite I make a suggestion that your put a disclaimer of your personal views of this particular make (or anyother for that matter). Then at least we know where you're coming from. Perhaps a better vid would be to suggest how to make it better (according to you ofcos) instead of beating a dead horse. Otherwise, some viewers mite not appreciate you personal biases. FWIW I'm not a GW/BG lover or hater but just a EUC enthusiasts. I do however make it my personal mission to never buy another KS product for their geo-locking BS which IMO is far far worse than anything GW/BG can do. Just my personal $0.02 ya so no offense intended.
I don't think it's fair to say Adam has undisclosed biases, especially here. You can see for yourself everything because he opened the wheel up with professionalism. Then his words match what's shown, he even puts things in perspective by comparing to other wheels he has experience with. I want to congratulate Adam for stepping up on this through the year; I enjoy a lot looking inside to see how things work. It's not because patterns show in the criticism that the reviewer necessarily exhibits an unfair bias. In this case it seems pretty clear that it's because the manufacturer consistently fails at the same stuff on the whole new product lines. Lastly, I wouldn't call Adam an "influencer". He's doing much better than promoting brands with lifestyle type content. His content is influential because he earned the trust of his audience via balanced appreciations and criticism.
He has talked about how much he enjoys plenty of gotway wheels I don't know what your talking about. Not too long ago and his comparison between the V10 and the GW Tesla he very clearly preferred the Tesla. He had a Nicola for a log time and very clearly enjoyed it. And then the review for the EX even though it died on him he still talked about how much fun it was to ride and how much he liked it.

Every time I watch a Begode or Gotway tear down I always think, single core cables.... just how much cost saving do you need...
I wonder if in the area begode's factory they can't find good workers.
So in fact it's even worse than it was in MSX, especially in terms of waterproofing? You have(had?) one, so you should have some sort of comparison.
Yeah the msx was better. In fact it was pretty good if you close the trolley handle. Motor was pristine after 2700km
