Dinosaur Jr were pioneers in music... All that needs to be said. They are incredible!

I was in the audience for this - first performance by these 3 guys together since the late '80's. I was choked up in a big way. They played one other song after this at the taping and did a much better job, but this was the historic take.
BTW the applause you hear is 90 people doing "golf claps" and 10 of us dino-lovin' knuckleheads yelling our lungs out.

Craig Ferguson played as a drummer in a bunch of punk bands in Glasgow in the 80s, so don't everybody jump down his throat assuming he doesn't know who Dinosaur Jr. is.

i wish i could solo like J, its not the technicality of it, its the feel of it and I rarely see anybody who has it as much as J

Anybody notice the sudden drum tempo change and J's catching up to the new BPM? What a well executed "oops I forgot."

Never install a Gibson Tune-O-Matic bridge on a Fender Jazzmaster, get a Mastery bridge and it will stay in tune because the strings won't get hung up when you let go of the vibrato.

The distorted 90's grunge garage sound always had that effect on me.But now that im older, i decided to go through their entire discography in the interest of getting more acquainted from music from my high school days. I dont know what it is this time through, but im loving it,and am actually dissapointed i didnt realize the genius of these guys earlier. Its all about perspective and theres somethine about me now that appreciates the fuzzyness of the guitar and the unpretentious vocal. Its real.

Jay Mascis still has this sad moaning kind of voice and these never ending noisy guitar solos.

All 80s rockers can still rock - alternative, pop, hair bands. He said they broke up in 89. That's sort of true, & not at the same time. J. Mascis continued Dinosaur Jr. with the guitar player. The drummer left. Then later J. got another new guitar player. Dinosaur Jr. OFFICIALLY stopped Dinosaur Jr. in 1997 after the album "Hand It Over." Everything after that were BBC re-releases or best of type CDs since J. Mascis started hi J. Mascis & The Fog band. Cool that the original 3 are back.

It doesn't need singing to be a song. You can't define what is and what is not music. If you could, good music such as this cannot exist. Personally, I like all types of music, with or without singing.

I would imagine that the sound guy from the craig fergeson side of things was probably crying that night. Dinosaur Jr. is just so god damn massive. I'm glad that the reformed version hasn't scaled down in volume. As far as being in tune, with how hard j. mascis plays, it's simply amazing that he doesn't break strings.
