My great grandma had taught me how to do a chain stitch when I was probably 4/5 years old, after she passed away there was no one left in the family that crocheted to teach me. I’m 23 now and I’ve been wanting to make these slippers for a while now and thanks to your videos and a few others I’m finally able to make them for myself!
kiki i enjoyed this so much that i decided to take this project on...you do a really good job of teaching, not every one does as good a job...well done kido
Thank you Kiki for your crochet patterns and techniques. I have found it so easy to follow. Please advise if pure cotton DK is suitable for these booties? I found the pure cotton DK is not the same as acrylic wool. Acrylic wool binds nicely and pure cotton DK does not, it feels slightly loose to crochet.
Cotton is thinner than acrylic, which would make it more loose. I would think (just my thoughts) that if you would want to do this pattern and use cotton that you would have to decrease your hook size and add more stitches to make up for the space
It's working now! Yay! Lol I couldn't get the video to work earlier, it must have been my internet. Thank you so much for making this tutorial! I have 12 grandchildren to make these slippers for and also three children and their spouses! I tried to get started earlier, but something intervened so I had to stop. I'll be back soon though and I can't wait! Thanks again! Have a blessed day!
+Deborah Goins Hello Deborah! Sorry it took me so long to answer!! I'm glad you found the adult size slippers!! If you check out the playlist called "slippers, socks" you'll find two more adult size slippers!!!!
+Kiki Crochet than you so much for replying and for the heads up on your other helpful videos!! You're the best bootie/ slipper teacher I've found thus far!! So detailed and easy to understand! ,Awesomeness!!
I saw a pattern for these on Etsy but as I've never crocheted anything in my life I thought I'd check out some tutorials. Yours look amazing and I am definitely going to have a go. Wish me luck!
Since you used a 5 mm hook for the size 8 booties you made, would you suggest using a size 4mm or 4.5 mm hook for size 7 boot? And possibly 6.5 mm for size 11 shoe?? I making these as Christmas gifts!! Thanks
Super easy video to follow, thanks so much! This stitch was giving me a hard time and I almost gave up trying to learn it. You couldn't have made it look easier if you tried :)
i just finished my first slipper, adjusting it for a child's size (3 yr old). I just love it!! thanks so much for your FANTASTIC video!! thanks for taking your time to do this for us and explaining everything so well! It was very easy to follow along 👍
Hi Kiki, thank you for posting this slippers video! Your voice is beautiful and calming, and your instructions are wonderful. Is there any chance you'd be willing to post another video for this pattern, but with VERY slow-motion and super close-up, zoomed-in shots for where exactly you insert the crochet hook at the beginning and ending of each row, and also where the hook goes into the various stitches? I'm a total newbie to crochet and I think I have the stitches down, but I'm struggling with the above stated issues. I'd really love to make this slipper pattern for all our family and friends next Christmas, and I think if you're willing to make another video for those brand new to crochet, I could accomplish this wonderful, homemade gift❣️ Thank you for your kind consideration, Kiki - I truly appreciate your taking the time to be so detailed in your video, and for sharing your artistry with those of us trying to learn, too. I've subscribed to your channel and look forward to (hopefully) making these cozy slippers with your assistance! Thank you, again! Beth
Thanks so much I had never crochet n slipper in my life and this was a fantastic video you did and very clear with directions, will always come and learn from you as long as you do tutorials hope you do as its so well done and easy to follow.
Hello! How do you calculate the number of stitches to be added for an increase each time depending on the shoe size?I follow your exact numbers but my yarn is smaller n thinner in size so I'm at a loss. Please help!
Hello, Cherry!! The increases are always the same for every size, it's the chains in between that make the difference. So, you will need to work a longer chain, and perhaps make all row with double crochet? Or, you can try crocheting with double strand, if the yarn is too thin.
Hello! Sorry for the late response! Maybe try and do an extra row for the sole should work, but because you don't want it to get any longer, try and work sc on the heel and the toes, and dc on the sides,. I hopw this works. .
So happy I found ur video ! Is this pretty easy to follow the cuff part? I’m scared I will make the sole and not be able to do the crocodile stitch, I read all comments and haven’t heard anyone say they couldn’t do it . I’m not a beginner but I’m no pro by any means ,
Thank you Cheryl!! I'm sure you'll be able to do it, I'm working each stitch step- by- step!! I'll be happy to hear back from you when you decide to start!! :D :D
I know this a old video but this is to small for my feet how can I increase the size of the boot and still correctly get it don’t do you have a written pattern with different foot sizes on it
Hello. Sorry, I don't have written patterns, only video tutorials. All the information needed is in the video, as well as I go through the stitch very slowly so it's understandable and easy to see. Would you like to explain which part confuses you so I can help?
thats so awesome..my shoe size is 6 how many chain i need to start with. and please tell me the number of chins for my one year old too. Thanks for this great tutorial video.
Thank you!!! You have to follow the instructions that I give on the video for the beginning chain, because it depends on the yarn and hook size that you're going to use. And for the baby size follow the instructions on the followinf link: ruclips.net/video/NvjhENDVJlk/видео.html
Hello! Yes, I said I would have 25 st in the first row, but then I explain that out of those 25, I'm going to use the first and last stitch for increases, so I'll have 23dc in the middle.
I've watched 3 of these videos and I there's no mention on different sizes. I wear a 10.5 size shoe. Does anybody know where I can find how many stitches I need to start with?
+kanwalkiran I've already uploaded a video with only the sole. What you can do is make 2 soles and sew them together, this way it;ss be a lot softer! ruclips.net/video/hTHFUWbfFe8/видео.html
It always depends on the yarn you're using. If you're crocheting with medium weight was well, you'll need a 5mm hook as well! If you're crocheting with thinner yarn, use a smaller hook, because you're going to have big holes n your work.
Unfortunatelly, there isn't one. What works for me when I try to follow a video, I watch it and take down notes as I go through it... hope ot works for you as well.
Hello, Alysha!! You'll have to make more chains to begin with. As i explain how to crochet the sole, I do mention how to increase or decrease in size. :D
Idk how but everytime i do the st marker then my sc to the marker i always get more sts to that marker then you do. My st count is always right till this point
Hello, Crystal, sorry for the late response. Unfortunately, I don't have a written pattern, but maybe your getting a different stitch count if your crocheting for a different size...? Or is this happening as you're crocheting along with me, the same size?
Sorry, I don't have the time to draw or write the patterns down. You can follow along the video and write down your own instructions, that helps me when I try to figure out a design from another video. :D
Depending on how tight or loose you crochet, you'll have a different size, make sure you crochet both the soles the same time so the pair matches in size!!
Thanks for letting me know. I know it's kind of dark, and the resolution of the cam isn't excellent, I hope the explanations that I give thoughout the video help!

Hello, Beth! Thank you for your kind words! There's a slow motion reference on the video options, I think it will help you.

Congrats!!!!!! Best ever tutorial I have seen for adult slippers... 💜💜💜💜💜
I found your explanations quite clear, thank you.
+LaVerne Guarnera Thank you, LaVerne!
what would I do after the sole (before starting single crochet rows ) if the person I'm making the slippers for has wide feet?
Hello! Sorry for the late response! Maybe try and do an extra row for the sole should work, but because you don't want it to get any longer, try and work sc on the heel and the toes, and dc on the sides,. I hopw this works. .
It should stretch well enough that having wide feet shouldn't matter. I have wide feet and made a similar slipper and it fit fine and comfortable.
I am attempting these for a gift and she has wide feet, would I have to make them wider?
What size/weight yarn does this need to be? Also I have small feet (2.5 uk) Don need the adult or the child pattern please?
I find this video and pattern quite challenging, but I decided to try and make this. When finished will comment again on my experience.
I really like how you give very good steps. I like this design
Thank you very much! :D

hvad gør du hvis den skal være støre eller mindre
Hi, when you fold the slipper in half and count the 40 stitches, are you counting the stitches the hook is through too?
Hello, Sue!! Sorry for the late response. Yes, in the total stitches that you count the ones that are through the hook are counted as well.
Where can I find Part 2 for adult booties?
To make it bigger do you keep doing what you was doing or how so i make it 2 sizes bigger?
Do you have this pattern for babies?

Thank you very much! :D
What type of yarn do you use?
Hello, Katherine! The yarn is shown in the beginning of the video.
I don't understand you said you would have 25 st on the first row of doubles but you only did 23 then you increased what happened to the last st?
The last stitch is where you dc 7 times to increase.
Hello! Yes, I said I would have 25 st in the first row, but then I explain that out of those 25, I'm going to use the first and last stitch for increases, so I'll have 23dc in the middle.
how can I increase d shoe size, starting chain is 27 ,can I start with 30 r anything
Yes, I also explain as I go through the sole how to increase. But yes, starting with a chain of 30 will help you increase in size.
Great tutorial
I don’t see link to adjust sizes
I've watched 3 of these videos and I there's no mention on different sizes. I wear a 10.5 size shoe. Does anybody know where I can find how many stitches I need to start with?
If you follow my instructions from the beginning for the sole, I explain how you can adjust to different sizes.
please make a video with a seperate sole.. please.. also what can we add to make sole softer
+kanwalkiran I've already uploaded a video with only the sole. What you can do is make 2 soles and sew them together, this way it;ss be a lot softer!

Kiki Crochet thanks so much .. i tried your tutorial .. they are so amazing .. God bless u
Love this! Just finished my first pair and they turned out great. Thank you!!
What size hook would I use for a size 6 adult feet?
It always depends on the yarn you're using. If you're crocheting with medium weight was well, you'll need a 5mm hook as well! If you're crocheting with thinner yarn, use a smaller hook, because you're going to have big holes n your work.
Kiki Crochet Thank you
are you going through both stitches?
If you mean everytime that I do the crocodile stitch, no, I go though the right stitch first and then the left one.
Kiki Crochet I was referring to the shoe part.
Every stitch is worked separately, except when I make my decreases where I crochet two stitches together.
what size does this make
As I mention in the video, it's a size 8.
how many grams would you say you used. I'm trying to figure out what I need for a size 7 ladies
Hello, Nicky! With a yarn this thick, I'd say that you would need 2 skeins of 100grams.
Great ty
Is this size 8 in UK/US?
It's US size.
When I click on the link to the tutorial for the sole, it says the video cannot be found. Has it been removed?
