Rammstein singer's sexual assault probe dropped | DW News

- The Berlin state prosecutor's office has dropped investigations into Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann. Lindemann had been accused of sexual misconduct during concerts and multiple cases of sexual assault. Prosecutors said that initial investigations "did not provide any evidence" of the claims. The investigations were initiated on the basis of complaints by third parties in connection with press reports, the statement said.

So.. someone accuses you without any evidence, destroys your reputation, your partners don't want to work with you anymore and people are still angry at you, because the "justice" was not served. Nice. Mentioning the possibility of legal system change to be guilty until proven otherwise is ridiculous and very worrying also. What could go wrong, right?
Just because they didn't find evidence of something that happened years ago, maybe even when they were young women, doesn't mean it didn't happen. Like if they were drugged and raped, they would have needed to have reported that shortly after to get any evidence. As someone who HAS been slipped a roofie, gonna tell you right now that you may not know you were drugged until someone tells you all of the symptoms. At the time I thought it was just weird that I got drunk and passed out after only 2 drinks but I thought "hey, maybe I just didn't eat enough beforehand".
Either way, we're never gonna know the full story.

Why Rammstein has to come forward and facing the press to prove they are innocent. The press and TV channels made up their mind already. Guilty as long they can sell their story for their benefit the truth is secondary only.
How do you prove your innocence when something is just alleged. Without evidence.
How do you prove you didn't do something? Do you need an alibi with witnesses for every moment of your life now, in case someone accuses you of something with no evidence?

Germany has one of the best legal systems that protect against false accusations . For instance, you have to prove that you had absolutely no way of escaping or avoiding unwanted sexual contact for your accusations to be held in court.

That is horrible. I have no proof of that in any off my cases. I think rarely someone has. But its the same in the Netherlands thats why they are all still free men. Prooving r*pe is just almost always impossible thats why it happens so much. But for me, saddest part about rammsteins case, those girls made it a public thing. I think that says a lot. Ive never ever named a name or even suggestion about who abused me in public because im scared.
That guest was crazy, why should his guy mount a PR campaign for the media, he got his lawyers to do their job and that's all he needed to do, he definitely didn't need to provide the media with extra nonsense.
So basically "no evidence" meaning that when the police interviewed everyone who was back stage whether they were working back stage or just a guest, none of them could back up these women's claim and everything seems in order. Rock concerts will have massive amounts of people working back stage.
So I'm guessing these women lied.
When i would have a band, then i wouldn't alow anyone backstage! Get lost! I'm there to work for 2,5 hours, so i would see it as a well payed job and then the party starts after work and not on the job site.

You shouldn't be able to "go public" with sexual allegations unless you also provide evidence to the prosecutors office. Otherwise, you're just defaming the person.
What to expect from a "news" clip where the subject of the clip is permanently shown while embodying creapy roles on stage? Well, if it would be about his art, that might be adequate. But if it's about that person himself, it is like talking about the person Anthony Perkins and permanently showing pictures of his role in Psycho or talking about Sir Anthony Hopkins with creapy pictures of his role as Hannibal Lector. It is just showing the editor's bias. Making an interview with the lynch mob about their opinion regarding a lack of evidence of their designated victim fits well to the whole "news" (or should I say "BIAS") clip. Well done ... at least if the goal was to provide the impression that DW is as untrustworthy as BILD and the like.
Could you have a less biased opinion on board? The lady that was interviewed is clearly of the opinion they are guilty beyond all doubt, even though the prosecutors think otherwise.

These claims can be so hard. You people who are victims of this to see justice, but you also want to make sure you are properly convicting people for provable crimes. I am a fan of ramstein so I hope the allegations are untrue but I wont shame anyone for making them.

Pretty disappointed they're not investigating these allegations further. Seems pretty clear SOME stuff happened that wasn't above boards, even if some women were OK with what happened to them. Hard to say "where's your cel phone proof, etc", when they were drugged.

The problem is, that some people like to get attention by accusing famous people with sexual assult and such. Especially once the media said another already did so. And some people do that as a revange for being turned down by the famous person they are obsessed with.
This case got media attention and given the general picture people have of Rammstein, I am sure there was an investigation. But it is not right to just by default assume people are guilty.
I'm not saying that this man never did anything that could count as sexual assult. To be honest, most men (intentionally or otherwise) do such things while being drunk. Depending on your definiton of assult, of course...But it seems, these reports were baseless.
As I said, crazy groupies have a tendency to seeking attention by accusing the subject of their obsession without any true base and so we cannot just assume things via media news... or pre-existing prejudice...
